I don't write many reviews, but I was impressed by the second section covering problem areas. I am short, busty, have scoliosis and large calves. All of those things and more were covered in this book. There is not a lot of depth on each challenge, but explanations are concise and helpful. *thumbs up*

This is one of my favorite sewing books, but not for the reasons most people would like it. Yes, I found the fitting problems I have -- and since none of us look like a Wolf mannequin, I'm sure we could each find something of use in the book -- but what I most like are the illustrations of the ladies with the fitting problems.

The illustrations are so sympathetically rendered, and so individually characterized, that it is as a writer that I will keep this book, even though I don't need it for each and every fitting anomaly depicted. Looking at the way Shawn Banner, the illustrator, captured the individuality of the pretty non-Wolf ladies inspires me to do the same in words.

I'm hoping to start doing some alterations at home for extra money. This book gives simple suggestions to make a standard sewing pattern fit. Great help!

This book is about how to alter patterns to make sure the clothes will fit you perfectly. I hoped it would help me understand clothing architecture enough to make up my own patterns, but it didn’t. Also, you need tons of measurements to really understand anything, and I didn’t feel like doing that. I feel like this one is over my head at this point, but once I’ve done some sewing of garments, I’ll revisit it.
