Vintage Fantasy is just one of ten Vintage Classic Twins to collect. Each twin consists of two books: a specially designed limited edition of one modern classic title and one established classic work. The books in each pair have been carefully selected to provide a thought-provoking combination.
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: Alice is one of the most beloved characters of English writing. A bright and inquisitive child, one boring summer afternoon she follows a white rabbit down a rabbit-hole. At the bottom she finds herself in a bizarre world full of strange creatures, and attends a very strange tea party and croquet match. This immensely witty and unique story mixes satire and puzzles, comedy and anxiety, to provide an astute depiction of the experience of childhood.
The Wind-up Bird Chronicle: Toru Okada's cat has disappeared and this has unsettled his wife, who is herself growing more distant every day. Then there are the increasingly explicit telephone calls he has started receiving. As this compelling story unfolds, the tidy suburban realities of Okada's vague and blameless life are turned inside out, and he embarks on a bizarre journey, guided by a succession of characters, each with a tale to tell.
The Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican clergyman and photographer.
His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky", all considered to be within the genre of literary nonsense.
Oxford scholar, Church of England Deacon, University Lecturer in Mathematics and Logic, academic author of learned theses, gifted pioneer of portrait photography, colourful writer of imaginative genius and yet a shy and pedantic man, Lewis Carroll stands pre-eminent in the pantheon of inventive literary geniuses.
"'The time has come,' the Walrus said, 'to talk of many things: of shoes - and ships - and sealing wax - of cabbages - and kings - and why the sea is boiling hot - and whether pigs have wings.'"

Alice in wonderland: The story sucks you into Wonderland with Alice; a magical, upside-down, nonsensical world.
I tried to find some meaning in the story or to understand the authors' mind as he was writing the story but failed. I finally came to the conclusion I will never understand Wonderland because the story was never meant for me, it’s a child’s book.
However, Lewis is able to tap into your subconscious and bring out your childlike state of make belief in you, daring you to believe in the impossible.
The extreme characters in the book are bizarre and scary, from the mad hatter to the controlling queen. This dream-like world is used to portray how children view the grown-up world; scary and unknown.
I was glued to the book due to its originality and the authors play with words. The story leads you to a path but unfortunately, we never find out what really lies beyond.
I could not put this book down. Alice's adventures are the kind every person wants to have. Some of the things that are said are so absurd you have to re-read them again to be sure you understand it and even then not everything makes sense and that is part of what makes it so fun to read.
It's whimsical and fun but can be confusing at times; so many random things happen and there are few smooth transitions in between. I enjoyed this book because it's so sweet and innocent. It makes me smile, thinking about kids having such a vivid imagination.
Reality and Subjective Experience. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle delves into the concept of reality and subjective experience, blurring the boundaries between the physical and the metaphysical.
