Thank you to my wonderful friends on Goodreads for informing me that Sinful has an epilogue on the author's website. It's a shame this beautiful ending wasn't included in the book. I understand why, but that doesn't take away from the fact the epilogue was needed to enhance the overall effect of the story.

This was a beautiful, uplifting, and passionate ending. An ending Matthew and Jane most definitely deserved. I loved everything about it!

Thank you Ms. Featherstone for providing your readers with the opportunity to get the closure we so desperately needed.

Matthew was a sinful man, sinfully handsome, and sinfully in love with Jane. He was surrounded by peace and love. He had a feeling that at last he was something more than sinful. He said to Jane:

"Thank you, Jane, for putting me back together. For making me whole. For never giving up."

Sinful
is the story of two damaged souls who find love and redemption. Unfortunately the epilogue was not included in the book. Right now I'm filled with such a sense of completion. Sinful deserved a beautiful epilogue!

Here is the link (including an explanation why the epilogue was not included in the book):

I JUST FEEL CHEATED!
Now THIS was the perfect ending I was dying so badly to read in Sinful. Definitely everything I needed to rate this book higher. But the truth is the author decided to take this epilogue out of the book so I wont be rating the book any higher now that I have read it. For me they were 2 different reads, very clearly separated. I'm so happy I read the epilogue, though.

I still believe the author did things wrong, well not the author but her publisher. The epilogue was taken away so a last sex love scene could take place. I think the book had already plenty of that and this epilogue would had made a much better ending for the book than that last scene the author chose instead of the epilogue. So I'm rating the epilogue with 5 stars but the book with 3. And I'm devastated because the book had a huge potential but it was wasted. How different it would have been if the Epilogue was the actual ending of the book and not what really did happened. Why fix what went wrong? It would have been better if things have gone like this in the first place and not publishing this epilogue later trying to make it better.

I FINALLY found the epilogue:
http://en.booksee.org/book/1942005

And I don't feel any better after reading it. Am still pissed about the ending of Sinful. To me this epilogue felt like spraying perfume to cover up the stink.

*********SPOILERS*****************
Yes, he finally puts a ring on it. But who cares. He had already married someone else and had a son with her so any child Matthew and Jane have together now will never earn his title. Ugh! And he was married for years before he was granted a divorce from his first wife - all the while keeping Jane as his mistress. [steam coming out of my ears now]. So of course they are ostracized during that period of sinful living. But I'm suppose to be okay with that since they have three - yes 3 - friends who will talk to them?? Matthew's best friend and his wife and Jane's geriatric former employer. I don't know about you but I would not want to live in the shadows and be considered a pariah by the community for. But apparently it's all good for Matthew and Jane since (sarcastic sigh) they have each other.

Unlike some readers, I was satisfied with Sinful, but when it ended, I couldn't help feeling like there was more story to tell. I'm so glad that I already knew this epilogue existed and even more grateful that I was able to get my hands on a copy since the author has dropped out of sight for the last three years. In her introduction to the epilogue, Charlotte Featherstone explains why it wasn't included in the book. It seems that upon turning in the manuscript to her editor, she was over her word count. Honestly, I don't know why this should have made a difference to her editor, since Addicted was approximately fifty pages longer than Sinful even with the epilogue still attached, but she doesn't expound on that. Her editor also thought that having two love scenes in such close proximity to one another would dilute them, therefore she was given a choice to either drop the final love scene in the main part of the story, one that was pivotal to Matthew's growth, and keep the epilogue, or keep that climactic love scene and drop the epilogue. She opted for the latter. If there truly was no other choice, then I'll admit that I believe Ms. Featherstone made the right one, because that last love scene in the book was absolutely necessary. However, I really disagree with the editor on the dilution part. If anything, this final piece of the story only made the entire thing that much stronger, because it shows a true and solid HEA for Matthew and Jane. Many readers were frustrated by the non-traditional HEA in the published version of Sinful, and I really can't blame them. I personally still loved it and was willing to overlook it, but if I'd read it without knowing about this epilogue, I probably would have marked it down a bit on the star rating. I really think the book would have gotten much better ratings, probably a 4+ star average, if this epilogue had been included.

The Sinful: Epilogue was an exquisite HEA ending to Matthew and Jane's story. It's everything I could have hoped for them and more. I love that Matthew's heart is so much lighter now that he's no longer tortured by his past. Jane has brought healing and wholeness to him, and all of the people who tormented him are now out of the picture in one way or another. It's just him, Jane, their children, and their good friends, Lindsay and Anais and their family. Matthew is the perfect doting and protective father, always looking out for his childrens' well-being. Five years later, he and Jane are every bit as passionate and in love as they ever were, and now that Matthew isn't quite as emotionally intense, there is a new playful, weightless, and joyful quality to their interactions that would have seemed nearly implausible at the end of Sinful. This was the ending that really made my heart soar in the way I wanted it to when I finished Sinful, but it didn't quite get there. So, overall the Sinful: Epilogue was perfect in every way. I couldn't have asked for a better finale, and yet, there's still more to come with the A Very Sinful Valentine novella, which I can't wait to read.

Where the hell was this ending during printing? On the Cutting Room Floor!!!

This was the ending I could have appreciated, not the tragic original ending of Sinful. I gave Sinful a 2 star because it had one of the worse endings imaginable. Reading this epilogue gives me hope that I won't be disappointed with other novels by Charlotte Featherstone.

This Epilogue is Free on Charlotte Featherstone's website. I encourage anyone that read Sinful to read it!!

My reviews are mostly my thoughts as I went with the book...

Yes! This epilogue gave me all I needed to feel at peace. But at first, I’d like to thank Charlotte Featherstone for being so honest about what happened and also knowing, we who loved Sinful so much, would definitely want to see our Matthew and Jane happy. So, thank you very much Ms. Featherstone, for providing us with it.

Jane and Matthew is seen here 5 years after Sinful. And, yes, they’re finally married. Matthew has become the Duke 3 years ago, divorced his first wife, who’s now in America. He now lives with Jane, Sarah and his son from the first marriage, Edward. A beautiful family, something he never thought he’ll ever have. I loved seeing him as the ‘protective papa’ and a delightfully wicked husband to Jane. Jane is blissfully happy, knowing her decision was just right for all of them. Edward doesn’t miss his birth mother, because to him Jane is his mother and Jane never gave him anything to doubt for. I also loved seeing Anais and Lindsay, with their two sons Jase and Samuel. It was a sunny day, they were all together and ... Well, it was perfect! And then, Jane reveals what she’d been hoping for a long long time, to be the mother of Matthew’s baby (and I don't blame her at all since I want the position myself!), who’ll also be her own. Her wish comes true. Great epilogue with a hoooot love scene ... Ooh Matthew, he’s delish! :p

Oh, well, just read it. I grinned ear-to-ear while reading it and I know I’ll miss them for sure. 5 happy stars!

PS: I had this morbid curiosity about what happened to that dirty b*tch, who hurt Matthew so much. Nothing was mentioned but I guess, it’s for the best. It was already hard for me to tone down my unrestrained urge to see her killed or kill her myself ... *zips her mouth shut!*

Though I loved the ending as it was in Sinful the story, this delicious epilogue available for download on the author's website certainly goes a long way in quenching the thirst of readers to find out how Matthew and Jane fare in the end.
I absolutely loved this epilogue as it offers the reader with a Matthew who has very much changed within the 5 years that he and Jane had been together by the time of the epilogue. It was heartwarming to read of the changes that had come about by then and if this had been included in the story as an epilogue it would have made a 5 star read into a 10 star read?
I guess everyone has pretty much got it that I loved this story and the epilogue and the cover and everything that goes along with it! ^_^

What a beautiful epilogue! Le sigh...

Now this is the ending that Matthew and Jane definitely deserve!

"Thank you, Jane, for putting me back together. For making me whole. For never giving up."

Swoon!!!

(Although a freebie, this is now out of circulation as Ms. Featherstone's website is no longer be, so I just want to say, THANKS, again, Kristen!!! ♥♥♥)

Although I really enjoyed Charlotte Featherstone's ending in Sinful, it is still rather bittersweet. So, here we have a short, FREE read - a gift from Charlotte - for those of us who still wanted to see Matthew and Jane's love flourish freely (without the confines that kept them apart).

It does so here - perfectly.

This should have been in the book, but I will take it anyway. What a sweet and just ending for two cherished characters. This was also a bit of closure for Lindsey and Anais too. Really sweet.

Thank you Ms. Featherstone...I needed this.

Wow, this epilogue was just beautiful and such a good end to the book that I really would have loved to have had it in there.

So glad I got to read this - it was just the closure for Jane and Matthew that I needed.

I can rest easy now - loved it and so glad the author chose to share this.

The author felt that her readers would be cheated from Matthew and Jane’s happy ending. Good on her for giving us a glimpse of their heaven. For only 30 pages, it was quite satisfying. There is nothing more beautiful than this epilogue.

Thank Goodness! The epilogue offered the closure I need to make Sinful a 4 star read for me. Featherstone's words are beautiful and truly make even the crudest act seem like art. I was very pleased with the how Jane's life played out. Originally, I was upset that Jane settled on being Matthew's mistress, because, really what security did that give her for her future? Though Matthew offered her promises of living as a true husband and wife--legal or not--with love and passion, who is to say when that bastard Earl of Wallingford would rear his ugly head and leave her high and dry? I just felt that Jane deserved to be more than Matthew's mistress. I love the ultimate ending! Really a fantastic wrap to a great book.

I LIKED this but didn't NEED it. I WANTED it but it wasn't really NECESSARY. I actually liked the way Sinful ended. It was a complete work. Us readers are just greedy. Admittedly so.

It was nice to revisit these couples and see the progress, live a day in the life as it were. It was really nice to see Sarah growing and finally being loved and falling in love.

This, for me, was the sprinkles on the whipped cream on the ice cream. I don't like cake; so that analogy doesn't work for me!

Epilogues are hard. Often everything comes together just too pat, and many times I find it detracts from the depth of the original story (Harry Potter, anyone?). This epilogue, while somewhat necessary due to the rushed ending of the original book, still falls prey to this problem.

As I stated in the review of Sinful, this epilogue, found on the author's website, saved the book for me. THIS was how the book was meant to end. NOT the way that it was presented in the book. THIS was the life, Jane deserved. NOT the crap she was handed at the end of the book.

Ok, I'm done venting. My world is right now, knowing that she got the HEA she deserved. I didn't want her ending up like her mother.

So, Sinful ended in a very non-traditional place for the two main characters. Not what would be considered the typical HEA. I won't say more to avoid spoilers, but the epilogue published on the author's website resolves the issue and shows where Wallingford and Jane end up five years down the line. It's almost 30 pages :) Very fulfilling and beautifully written. Her publisher should have let her include it in the story. I don't think any of her audience would have minded!

1.5 -2 stars. I give this epilogue the same rating I give for the book. Both book and epilogue weren't very bad, a few moments were actually quite entertaining and the writing was good ... but I wouldn't read this story (book and epilogue) a second time. Not so much plot, too much sex scenes (nothing against them but after while they become boring) and the story dragged a bit too much for my tastes.

This is the ending I would have liked to see at the end of 'Sinful'. To be honest, I was hoping Constance's ship would sink either on the way to or on the way back from America. It's not as if it didn't happen a lot back then. Right? Vindictive much? Oh, yeah! lol

However, I agree that the scene at the end of 'Sinful' was necessary. I feel better knowing they got their rightful HEA.

That was simply beautiful. I felt that the actual book didn't ended right unlike with Addicted and I'm so happy with this Epilogue, I will buy the entire book even just for the Epilogue.

And this quote...

Finally. I finally got a hold of this author freebie to continue with my all-time fav dark and tortured HR, Sinful (Addicted 02).
For our Jane and Matthew *swoon* it's epilogue perfection.
Thank you, dear author, for this HEA gift to your fans...just what we all, including Jane and Matty, needed ;)
And Ms. Featherstone, I am your forever fan.

Featherstone finishes off Jane and Matthew's tale in an epilogue that was considered too long for the book. It was lovely to get a resounding end to their story which was more sweet than sexy although there was one very steamy scene. I look forward to reading more by this author.
