Great illustrations that have sharp colors and great contrasts. Wonderful for child development. The illustrator also makes the spider seem happy to be washed out of the water spout as he uses the opportunity as a type of slip and slide. When I was a child I imagined that the spider would be sad to be washed out of the spout and wondered why he would climb up the spout again. However, these illustrations make it clear as to why he would climb up the spout again...because it was fun.
