I particularly appreciated the manner in which the author discussed moral dilemmas for the average Parisian during the occupation. Full of photos and cultural information about this strange time in France's history.
This is a harsh read, but mostly because I am so immersed currently in this nightmare time. The reading of this book builds on my two recent reads as well as my ongoing reads which compounds the effect. But it helps somehow with the current climate, to absorb past desperate times and provide a perspective for our current times. And causes me to question my own actions/inactions- both actual and potential.
