Summary:
This book shows many different art styles from a variety of different well known artists like Van Gogh and Hendrick Avercamp. After showing the popular styles of the artists and telling a little bit about them, it gives directions on how someone can mimic a similar style. It brings art and creativity to a level where it helps people be able to get their own style from the styles of other artists.

Analysis:
I really thought this book was really cool. I enjoyed looking through it and seeing different ways of incorporating art styles I always thought would be a lot more difficult than they actually are. I think it is cool that someone brought together a book about popular artists to give people a chance to learn from them.

Classroom Ideas:
This could be used as simply as to give children an idea on how they could do an art project. They can learn about popular artists while also learning how to express themselves through art.

This is a great book for art and craft loving parents. It includes a variety of different works of art - not just the most famous/popular ones - with information on the style and the artist. Each work is then followed by simplified versions and step by step crafts for kids of all ages. I love watching my 3 year old try her hand at Starry Night.

This is a great book for ideas/teaching about art. There are different artist shown and described, followed by an art project to do at home in the same style. I will be using it for my kindergarten art curriculum.

I love this book! It's a children's art book which features artists from various times in history. Not only do you get an art history lesson and a photograph of the artwork, you get to re-create art using the same method as the artist! It's fun read, not just for kids but for all ages!

'Art Treasury'...As there are many different types of art--tastes and visions alike, it is through this we learn a little about ourselves; sometimes, it allows us to open our minds and ignite our imagination...all the while developing our creativity!
