About the author

Ginny Glass

Ginny Glass writes wicked smart, rocket-hot, melt-your-heart, zap-your-undies fiction.
She's a 30-something snarky brunette who likes thunderstorms, junk shops, vintage kitchenware, big words and writing author's biographies for herself (kidding - these things are horridly difficult to write).

Why romance? Who knows. Ginny once got Fabio's "Pirate" confiscated by a teacher in middle school, and it's been debauchery and a slow downward moral slide from there. Not because Ginny got 'hold of a dirty book, but because she only read it halfway through and thought - "Hey, I bet I could spice this up."

Raised in the rural South where, yes, she did participate in some deep-frying and several beauty pageants, Ginny currently lives in the desert, works a full-time grown-up job, does graphic design for several prominent ePublishers (check our her design at www.WordSugarDesigns.com), writes smokin' hot fiction and has high hopes that she will someday develop superpowers.

You can contact Ginny to ask questions, discuss the miracle of cuisine that is Captain Crunch French Toast (yes, all one food!) or just generally say anything. Ginny loves to hear from readers and other authors!

I grabbed this eBook because I wanted to give Harlequin’s new division, Carina Press, a try.

Eli and Bea have been working together for a couple of years when they started an advertising company together. Over time their sexual attraction to one another becomes more apparent and more intense. But can they work together and play together without causing damage to the company or each other? While Eli’s body wants to find out, his mind keeps telling him that his darker, sexual appetites might be more than Bea can handle, but when he meets up with her in her apartment’s Laundromat and things heat up, he quickly finds that she’s as eager to take what he offers as he is to give it.

There was one scene that had me shaking my head and asking myself Where the hell did that come from? because it was so, so unexpected, but overall I liked this short, 68 page story. Coin Operated had enough emotional tension to make it an actual story, and enough sexual tension to make it one hot read.

Sexual content: Oral, vaginal, some anal play.

Since this is pretty short at 68 pages, there's not much to review, but I did really enjoy it, so feel I should say something about it.

Elijah Elliot runs a successful but small ad agency with business partner Beatrix London, whom he's worked closely with for years. They're a mix of business partners and good friends, but lately an unacknowledged mutual attraction has driven a wedge between them. Eli would just make a move on Bea, but he's terrified that the nature of his wants would repulse Bea. He doesn't just want her, he wants to dominate her in a million sexy ways.

I liked the author's use of daydreams and fantasies to insert sexual tension into this short story. There's no shortage of hot, D/s spiced sex, but since it's all in their heads, Glass draws out the conflict without having the characters waffle or contriving a misunderstanding. It's just a continuous build-up until the smoking hot climax. Because she also establishes their extant friendship through flashbacks and memories, there's plenty of feeling behind their actions to give the sex emotional punch and establish a believable HEA.

Highly recommended as a quick and dirty BDSM read. Nom nom nom.

This was a steamy co-workers to lovers story. We have Eli and Bea, who are partners in an advertising firm. They've each been having illicit daydreams about the other, though neither of them know how the other feels. Eli has dominant tendencies, but he's so afraid of them based on how a past girlfriend reacted to them. And Bea is a submissive. Once Eli gives in to his need, he thinks he's harmed or will harm Bea beyond redemption, so he immediately pushes her away. At which point she kinda gives up on him. She leaves the office and goes straight for an attorney. When Eli realizes she's serious about leaving him, he just can't let that happen, so he gives it one last ditch effort. Which works really well for them. The story ends on a HFN, but for this story, which wasn't particularly long, it works. I'm not sure I need to know what happens next with them, and I'm not sure why that is, lol. Normally I'm clamboring for more. It was, however, an entertaining, sexy story.

COIN OPERATED tells the story of Elijah Elliot and Beatrix London, two business partners who run an ad agency. Eli is a Dominant and Bea is a submissive, they are undeniably drawn to each other but despite their fantasies of each other, neither makes a move to consolidate those fantasies until Bea comes up with a naughty presentation for one of their clients.

Eli is the brooding A-type kind of hero. He’s the people-minded partner of the two of them, the creative one who interacts best with the clients and charms them. Bea is a sharp, dedicated and dependable woman. She’s the regulating partner of the two, the planner and the number cruncher. Eli tries to fight his attraction to Bea. He intends to put some distance between them and part ways but he can’t get himself to commit to it.

This debut release of author Ginny Glass with Carina Press is the first book of the Dirty Laundry series. And what a first installment it is! The very first paragraph of the book sets the tone and immediately captured my attention. It opens with some explicit fantasies Eli and Bea are having of being together and it was hot. I was hoping the reality was going to be as great as the fantasies they were having and the author didn’t disappoint!

I love the office romance trope and I loved how the tension built up to the point where the fantasies became reality and climaxes in an explosive scene. In COIN OPERATED the theme of BDSM is touched in a light way. Nothing heavy handed, just in an introductory, yet sultry way. Eli fears the man he is when he’s with Bea and doesn’t see that Bea wants exactly that man.

COIN OPERATED is a sweet, hot and quick read guaranteed to give you a few sizzling reading hours. It’s a very promising start of the series and I definitely want to read more in the Dirty Laundry world.

Through a captivating writing style Ginny Glass delivers a short but great start to the series with a good and intense build-up and a great execution of the fantasies. My only complaint is that I would have loved more pages to this story if only for more of Eli and Bea’s scorching chemistry and to get to know them even better.

The Laundromat never sounded so exciting to me and doing laundry has never been this hot. Ginny Glass puts sexy in washers, dryers and laundry change!

This is the first book I ever read by Ginny Glass and to say she is a great new discovery would be an understatement. Coin Operated is the first book in a laundry themed series. This story is about two business partners, Elijah and Beatrix, who are attracted to each other but don't want to admit it. As you can imagine that brings on some serious sexual tension in their every day work. The book starts with them both in a meeting fantasizing about getting down and dirty with each other- separately from each other. OMG that was so hot. These two have an imagination. Holy guacamole. They both enjoy a bit of dominance play and that gave their day dreams an extra spicy touch. It was funny to see them both talking around their attraction.

Eli is a dominant man at heart but he is afraid to admit it to himself. He doesn't want to hurt Bea and he is hellbent on the idea that giving in to his darker urges will do that. So he decides to endure this torture and tries to find a way to separate their business relations.
Bea is highly attracted to Eli and would love to submit to him. But how do you get a stubborn man to do just that. She is nearly sure that he wants it too and she knows for sure that she wants to give it a chance. She's independent, smart and knows what she wants. I loved that girl. Loved her wit and the way she handles Eli.

The pace of the story was great from page one and the witting conversation and sexual tension kept me glued to the pages. The sex is relative light on the D/s part but still very sexy. You should make sure to have something handy to cool you down. ;)

Coin Operated is a fun light read to entertain you for a few others. I enjoyed the characters, the conversations and for sure the sex is hot. Highly recommended read. I know I will keep my eyes open for Ginny Glass. I have to say that Carina Press has some very good authors on their list- loved every book so far.

A quick, sexy story about two business partners that finally start to really communicate. Glass was able to put a lot of emotion into this novella. There are also some smoking hot scenes when Eli and Bea start communicating in a different way.

Bea and Eli both want the same things. They want their business to grow and they want each other. It's that last part that they really need to work on. They both fantasize about each other and when they finally succumb to the fantasy they each get more than what they expected. I liked how Bea and Eli tried to keep their relationship professional, fighting the attraction that neither knew the other had for them. It's fighting and need to keep things professional that racked up the sexual tension.

Once Bea and Eli take their relationship beyond the office they find they are an excellent match in both need and want. I liked how they made the progression from business partners to lovers but would have liked to see more depth to that transition. They had a couple of stumbles but worked things out. Eli likes things a little rough in the bedroom and he's concerned that Bea will turn away from him when she finds out. Instead, they discover some things about each other that brings them both pleasure beyond their wildest dreams.

Coin Operated is a short, erotic story filled with passion and some very inventive and steamy scenes. Add in the emotional punch and you have an enjoyable story. I do wish it had been longer, giving more time to develop the characters and their relationship.

Overview
Elijah Elliot is a highly capable businessman. Not only does he decide to start his own business, after making his mark in a prestigious advertising firm, he lures away Beatrix London from the same firm. As his associate, the two work well together, but Elijah has other 'dreams' of them working together. Dreams that don't involve much clothing.

Little does he know that Bea feels the same way about him. And, then the two are pushed to work very closely on a racy advertising campaign. It won't be long before all bets are off, and Elijah and Bea find themselves unable to deny their mutual attraction.

I Liked -- Plot: COIN OPERATED is a smexy quick read, where Elijah and Bea have several sexual encounters from the outset- that turn out to be fantasies. Obviously for a novella, the characters have to have a previous knowledge of each other, otherwise it might seem... sordid. Ginny Glass solves that by making the two long time associates, and moves the pace along with their hot-under-the-collar imaginings.

I Liked -- Character: I was all about Elijah! He was a good alpha guy, taking charge in his fantasies, and their real encounters, but not coming off as a neanderthal. Plus, the inventive way that he used those spare quarters from the laundry room...

My Rating: 10.5/15 Recommend (Adults Only 18+)

If this is any indication of what Carina Press will be putting out, I say where can I buy stock? From the first page you're grabbed and sucked in.

"She was kneeling in from of him, nude except for the bright red silk that bound her hands behind her."

This short read (68 pages) was sexy, hot, and makes you clench and tingle.
Eli is a closet Dominant who had a horrible experience and now thinks he is a deviant. Bea is a young woman who puts her trust where he least expects it. Him.

"Tell me you want me, Bea," he growled.
"I want you."
There was no hesitation. She wanted him. She wanted him.

The story is a very fast past read, and for a short story is very strong. Ginny does an exceptional job of reeling her readers in. I will definitely be adding this author to my auto buy list - and I must check for any backlist.

She nodded and he cupped her chin, turning her face up to find her eyes glossy with gathering tears. Eli kissed the corner of her mouth.

Oh, and the title of the book? It comes from a scene at the end of the book, involving quarters. You will not want to miss it!

Coin Operated by Ginny Glass
* I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

One ad campaign was all it took to push Eli over the edge he's barely been hanging onto. He has had daydreams and fantasies about Bea for awhile but he is afraid that his sex games will scare her away.

Bea has been in lust with her partner since she first set eyes on him. He doesn't see her as anything but the competent business partner that takes care of everything. She secretly desires for him to dominate her.

The story is full of sexual tension between the two. They want each other but both are afraid of rejection. Eli has already scared off one lover with his sexual behavior and is afraid Bea will think he is a pervert too. Over the course of time Bea has fallen in love with him and she is afraid he will never feel the same way about her.

It turns out all it took was their latest client and a smoking ad campaign for them to give in to their desire. I think the ad campaign, especially the red scarf was a nice touch and a great tie in to their fantasies. I think the characters are well developed and the story flows nicely.

This novella from Carina Press is an enjoyable read that I would recommend. I give Coin Operated 3 flaming hearts.

This books was hot, hot, hot! From the beginning with Eli's fantasy of Bea to the very end I was drawn in. I liked that the author let you get to know the characters first and only had fantasies before they took the next step. Eli was dominant but was afraid of it due to past incident and that adds to the tension because Bea really wants that side of him. Office romances are sometimes hard to pull off but I think the author made this believable since they are both the bosses and some of it takes place after hours. I will definitely try and get more by this author!

I would also like to say that this is the second book I have read by Carina Press and I have to say the quality of the storytelling and editing is just as good as other top publishing house. I even think it is better than the Aphrodisia line which I refuse to buy from due to the stories mostly being sex w/o the relationship. I will definitely try some other books by this publisher.

My standards for short erotica are rather low, I'm not expecting a lot of backstory or a lot of hurdles or anything. What didn't work for me here was the idea that the couple had been close friends for a while (at no point did their interactions seem like two people who had the type of history Bea rattles off at one point, including comforting her grieving her deceased father) and the idea that they were partners at work (when she seems so subservient already in their non-sex interactions).
For D/s dynamics in the sex life, I think making them partners at work was an odd choice with this short word count, a separation or even reversal of the every day dynamic is fine, but might need more pages to develop. As it was, Bea doing his laundry, being called into his office, the assumption that she needs to leave the firm, it all didn't work for me.

I quite liked Talk Dirty to Me, so I'm willing to read more of this author, it wasn't a dealbreaker or anything.

I wasn't certain what to expect from Ms. Glass. A debut author, an unknown -- a lot of variables that could backfire. Ultimately, I believe she'll be an author to watch. Coin Operated, however, left me asking "And then?" and wanting more from Eli and Bea.

The prose wasn't as emotional or as intense as I thought it might be, given the layers of BDSM in the novella. There were moments, of course, early on -- during their respective fantasies, specifically -- when I believed in their connection and desire for one another. When I reached the end though, I didn't feel 100% fulfilled; I felt like something was still missing. Maybe I wanted to see their continued exploration of Eli's and Bea's relationship in and out of the office, I'm not sure. That being said, I'll certainly read Ms. Glass' next release and hope to see more from her in the future (straight-up sexy contemporary, perhaps?).

What happens when two individuals who fantasized about each other for so long finally gets together? The answer is an explosive, hot 'completion'.

Coin Operated is a sexy novella about Eli and Bea, friends and business partners, who had secretly lusted after each other for years. The story begins with each one of them daydreaming while during a business presentation. That alone was enough to get me smiling. Finally Bea's idea for an ad campaign finally pushed Eli to take action, and amid the roars of washers and scents of detergents some 'dirty laundry' got washed. : )

For a novella, I thought this was a fun read. There were some moments when I felt I could just smacked Eli for being so indecisive, but overall, it was a fun, erotic story.

Great book from a new author. It's a quick, steamy read which sucks you in from the beginning. From the start, you get a clear picture of how hot Elijah and Bea are for each other. It's a wonder they got any work done!

I liked the fact that they already knew each other. They didn't just work together. They traveled together often, shared intimate moments, and she even helped him through a bout of food poisoning once. But they never crossed the line. This only heightened the sexual tension and made it so the fantasies and feelings they had for each other didn't seem unrealistic.

There's light BDSM--some spanking, and an interesting use of quarters in the laundry room (hence the title). Overall, nicely done!

This is a short story that moves very quickly, is peppered with sex of both the fantasy and non-fantasy variety and involves the creative use of neckties and quarters. If any of those things squick you, I'd imagine that you should probable be looking elsewhere for some light reading.

Bea and Eli have been successfully ignoring the sexual tension between them for the past two years as they work on getting their fledgling business up and running. That doesn't stop the steamy daydreams, though. When things get physical one night, they have to decide how they're going to handle it.

A fast read with light bondage scenarios and one sexy interlude in the laundry room.

Not bad! Short, but you get enough story that it reads like a quick novel. The hero and heroine have somewhat vivid and extreme sexual fantasies about each other for the first part of the book, and it's a good way to delay satisfaction, create sexual tension, yet at the same time have explicit sex scenes early in an erotic romance. The source of conflict lies mostly in the fact that they're partners and co-workers so must maintain a proper working relationship and in that the hero has some very dark and dominant tendencies that he's afraid to unleash on any woman about whom he cares.

And that's pretty much the gist of the whole book — I feel like I gave it all away somehow. Oh, spoiler: they get together in the end. Nicely done, though.

I had actually thought the covers of this series kind of funny -- until I read this short novella and discovered that laundry isn't a metaphor, but an actual part of the story. Elliot and Bea don't literally get it on inside a washer, but it's almost that weird. It made me lose all interest in the big exciting sexy bizarre finale.

It didn't help that Elliot is a confused, inconsistent character and you never know what the hell he's going to say. It seems like a bad pun to call him wishy-washy, but if the shoe fits... I'm no D/s expert, but one thing I can guess very few subs want is a wishy-washy Dom.

It might be more appealing to readers who like D/s with a service aspect, and with a bit of pain.

Quick, enjoyable read. Good smut doesn't have to be a trilogy long. Miss Glass does a good job setting up the sexual tension quickly between the two stars, and it flows from there. The BDSM scenes are less BD than they are DS, and are reminiscent of some of the scenes in Secretary, but they're more honest than some of the things out there.

All in all, this was an enjoyable spend of a few bucks and more than a few minutes of reading.

Oh hello, Mr. Elliot.

Coin Operated was a wonderfully hot, sexy, friends to lovers story that had me flipping the pages as quickly as I could. Elijah's internal struggle to not give in to his desires to take Bea and make her his own were wonderful to watch. When they finally came together, holy cow hot stuff.

Great sexy read, perfect for summer. :)
