Above The Clouds: The Miraculous Healing Of A Little Girl

Rate this book
The Moellers were living the good successful businessman, beautiful family, strong spiritual life – all was well. But then, without warning, diabetes struck eight-year-old Morgan Moeller. Within hours she was at death’s door. For days doctors battled the disease with little success. In anguish Mike Moeller prayed. "God, please don’t take my little girl." Above the Clouds tells the story, from Mike’s point of view, of the Moeller family’s months of grief and agony as they watched Morgan suffer and change from a lively, athletic little girl to an unresponsive invalid. But then God brought the Moellers, little by little, out of the depths of despair as he began to heal Morgan – clearly a miracle as fewer than 10 percent of children afflicted this way survive, much less return to school and athletics. But Morgan did. Through months in the hospital and then months at home with Morgan screaming uncontrollably, the Moellers continued to pray, to believe that God had a plan, and that God would ultimately heal their little girl. As Morgan recovers, she describes and names the angels that watched over her, protecting her from evil. She tells about her conversations with God and her visits with Him "above the clouds." An inspiring story of faith and faithfulness, Above the Clouds, demonstrates God’s grace and healing power that works miracles even when hospitals and doctors have done all they can and all hope is gone. Above the Clouds is an uplifting, comforting, inspiring story that clearly demonstrates how much God loves and cares for His children.

The Moeller family's story has been part of our family vernacular for years, since Cap got to work with Mike on a documentary about their experiences. This year the girls were finally old enough to hear the story themselves!

Cap read this aloud to us after lunch. He's done this with several books, but this was the biggest hit. The fact that this was a local family, with a little girl about the same age as our girls, captured and held their attention. The book is short, so it was an easy read for the family, and Morgan's story is dramatic to say the least, so we were never bored! We are grateful for this family's witness to our family about the fragility of life, the reality of spiritual warfare, and the faithfulness of God in nightmarish circumstances.

I was immensely privileged to help produce a documentary based on this true-to-life story, and to get to know the Moeller family in the process. Now, decades later, I did this second read-through with my family, and we all enjoyed hearing how God worked through Morgan's sickness to glorify his name and show his goodness to this precious family.

Disclaimer: I was given this book from the author, my coworker.

This book tells the true story of how the author's daughter almost died from complications of diabetes. It tells of the family's struggle as they fear for her life, then how they help her improve though therapy, a lot of love, and faith in God. It's a very inspiring read.

This is an incredible book - incredible healing through faith. Mr Moeller tells of the horrendous story of his daughter's illness and how he and his family survived both physical and spiritual healing of their 8 year old girl Morgan. Their faith literally brought together thousands of people to pray for and with them.
