*** This is the UNCENSORED VERSION Curvy redhead Giselle Hunter, parapsychology reporter, has a crisis. Finding a ghost within three days is the only way to save her job. Not easy, especially with no psychic talent. A trip to Savannah Georgia-voted the most haunted city in America-seems ideal. But while Giselle encounters a discrimination-obsessed vampire, a nudist wizard, a not-so-psychic medium and a host of other kooks, there's not a ghost in sight. Then there's scrumptiously sexy, private investigator Ry Leland. With his buff body and bitable lips, Ry ignites her passion. He's an enormous distraction. Distracting her in a bed, in a closet, on the kitchen table, in a car. . . But despite the explosion of their mutual lust at first sight, Ry is unwilling to help with what he calls a cockamamie investigation. Unwilling, that is, until an attempt on her life makes it clear someone wants to stop Giselle from finding a ghost. . .and turn her into one.

I wanted to like this book, I really did ... but Giselle and Ry, as lead characters, did not appeal to me. The secondary characters were what saved this book for me.
I got tired of Giselle being described as "overweight" after the first time it happened in the story. However, it seemed that her weight (the heroine being a size 10, according the author, is apparently considered 'overweight') is a running theme throughout every scrape/argument/insult slinging fest the 'heroine' encounters ... and I really did tire of the overweight thoughts being the main insult thrown in Giselle's direction not just once and not just twice and not even just three times ... you get the drift. I deducted a star merely for that thought alone. I would gone along with a heroine that was actually considered overweight but not tabloid/celebrity thought of 'overweight'.
The real wit and humor comes into play with the secondary characters (Willy, the artist, the vampire & his newest girlfriend, Ry's mother, and a local psychic) and the organization VICTIM. However, even then the author lapsed into rehashing - such as the artist always asking if he could have sex with Giselle. Not once ... not twice ... not three times ... you get the drift.
The story line between Giselle and Ry was so predictable (girl meets boy, girl drools over boy, girl flubs it up with boy, girl talks boy into helping her, girl lands in bed with boy, boy falls for girl) that I skimmed through those parts until one of the background characters appeared. Part of the reason is that Giselle just was not appealing or interesting of a character to me. I could care less, after a while, if she found a ghost - let alone got together with Ry.
Giselle is a paranormal reporter who has three days to file a real ghost story. She decides to go to Savannah, GA because it's allegedly full of ghosts. In one weekend, she becomes the target for murder and meats an incredibly hot PI. Some good sex action there!
The story line became increasingly silly but I liked the characters. Fun read.
3.5 stars. Free download from Amazon kindle. Funny and pleasant story about a reporter looking for a ghost for an article of her magazine ending up finding much more (a Mr. Scrumptious, an artist with a funny accent and resembling a skunk, a nudist wizard (?), a mother-in-law from hell and (of course) the ghost. I didn't like much the easiness in talking about possessing weapons but apart from this it was quite a nice book. I am definitely curious to read more books by this author.
Gisell Hunter is on assignment for the magazine she works for to find a ghost in Savannah or she'll lose her job. Gisell goes from one bobbled experience to another. She has a way of creating mayhem wherever she goes. This book is full of unique charaters. Patricia Mason's brings her characters to life and what fun characters they are. This is a fast fun read and I highly recommend it.
It's not true that I read it:after 20 % I didn't wantto finish it. It's just too stupid. The characters are stupid and the writing is stupid trying to so funny repeating everything not only two but three times. You won't miss a thing if you don't read this.
I got this as a free ebook. It was pitiful. The female character was so poorly written that I wanted to kill her off myself. TSTL. It was a waste of time.
Giselle is a writer for a ghost hunting magazine, who has no psychic, ghost hunting abilities. Ry is a private investigator who is desperately trying to hide his abilities. When Giselle and Ry meet, it is a collision of epic and occasionally disastrous proportions. Their chemistry is instant. Their clashes are instant, too. Somehow, Giselle needs to find a ghost, write an article, keep from getting herself killed, and figure out what is happening with Ry. And she has one weekend to do it. There were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments in this book. The sizzle between Giselle and Ry is palpable. Unfortunately, Giselle is so disaster-prone that it becomes tiresome, as does the continuous jabbing at her by calling her fat. Resorting to fat as an insult/joke is lazy and not terribly funny.
A deranged Frenchman. A crazy vampire. And a sexy private investigator. What more could a girl want?
I started reading this book cuz I was in the Halloween mood and it was entertaining. I've had the book on my kindle for a while and finally got around to reading it. It's fun and sexy and it threw a few curveballs at you. I like that the main character is a sexy redhead with amazing curves but I dont like that she doubts her sexiness. Overall fun book to read.
This was cute & funny! I would definitely read more by this author! From the jacket: A slightly clumsy reporter who must find a ghost to save her job. A yummy private eye who provides a big distraction. But when somebody tries to kill her the question becomes whether she'll find a ghost or be turned into one.
I liked the female in this story. Maybe she sounds like me. Clutsy. Managing to find trouble. Very out spoken. Very stubborn. You don't have to believe in ghosts to like this story. If you have a job to do, you have to do what you can to finish it. Romance yes. Lots of it. Suspense some.
A cute quirky read about a reporter trying to find a ghost. The plot was interesting but tended to have alot of jumping around with several side story events. I would have liked more in depth storyline about the main character's interaction with finding the ghost. But it was still a decent read.
This book could be pretty good if the author went back in a changed a few things. I started to get very annoyed by the characters and the writing style less than 1/3 of the way through the book. By the time I was near the end of the book I was struggling to finish it.
Here are a few things I think need to be addressed to make it an easier read: 1) Please use pronouns. I know the characters names and don't need to be reminded multiple times a paragraph. Giselle did this, Giselle said that, this landed on Giselle. It gets very annoying, very quickly. 2) Please combine sentences. The use of short sentences makes it read very choppy. 3) I know this happens with electronic books often, but misplaced quotation marks can be confusing. 4) The over use of phrases was frustratingly annoying. I got tired of hearing things like, "Ren, or was it Field" every time she mentioned those two characters.
Those are just my suggestions to make it an easier read, now on to the story itself.
I liked the premise of the story, but there was just too much going on. Every time something else went wrong for Giselle I found myself rolling my eyes. How many times can something bad happen to one person over a weekend? There was just too much going on that I felt like there wasn't enough time spent on character development. Giselle goes the Savannah in search of a ghost so she doesn't lose her job as a writer. She meets a private detective with a very mean mother. All kinds of crazy things happen to her as someone tries in vain to kill her. Will I read this story again? Absolutely not. Will I suggest it for someone else to read? Nope, not a chance. I do hope the writer perfects her writing technique so it doesn't sound so juvenile. I'm not sure if I would give her writing another chance to find out though.
I will admit it, I one clicked this book when it was free because the title caught my eye. It took awhile, but I was finally able to read it and I loved it... Meet Giselle, a take psychic sent to Savannah,GA to write a ghost story and have actual proof of it. While trying to find a ghost, she literally runs into Ry twice. She thinks he's hot but also rude. Still, she keeps pursuing her goal of a good ghost story. She searches out a psychic investigator and wouldn't you know it, its Ry. Sparks fly and not the good kind, especially when he refuses her case. Undaunted, she meets a psychic medium who may or may not be real, a wizard who likes to write in the nude in front of his open windows, a man who spends his time either trying to sell her gold teeth or give her a puppy, a temperamental French artiste (is their any other kind?), the Vampire Lester and his mate and a drunken ghost walk tour guide. Along the way she gets kidnapped, rides in the back of a pickup with a pig and dog, gets trapped in an elevator that is plummeting, and meets a snake in her bathroom. It would seem the old adage is true. If it wasn't for bad luck Giselle would have no luck at all. The writing is great, I especially like Giselle's inner monologue. The characters are real and so funny, the chemistry is hot and a ghost is found! One click your copy today. I don't think you will be disappointed.
All the characters,no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, seemed to be there for the purpose of ..well, entertainment. They will make you chuckle in some way or another. This book just flowed really well and required no brain cells whatsoever. My kind of light-hearted Christmas read. ;D
I just didn't like that Ry, the male lead in this book, was a jerk in some points and just because he was good looking, it made it all okay. Fortunately, it died down, mostly because Ry stopped being mean.
I liked that . That would have been the perfect ending. I thought the epilogue was unnecessary and pointless. It didn't really give away anything surprising or show something special. Just an "okay, after all that, nothing really happened, but I wanna let you all know what is going to happen." It was kind of disappointing.
Overall, funny stuff sprinkled everywhere, in every scene. I don't think this book was ever serious, except with Ry's story in the end about himself. But that was very brief. Very enjoyable read.
A Girl, A Guy And a Ghost by Patricia Mason Poor Giselle Hunter seems to be one of those gals where trouble just shows up. If she’s there, so is trouble. She heads for Savannah, Georgia on a mission to find a ghost and save her job, once again she ends up in hot water. From a French artist who won’t let go to a New Orleans so-called vampire. A drunken tour guide, nudist wizard and nutty medium. Let us not forget the handsome man, who she wouldn’t mind attracting. But she needs a ghost, not trouble.
Full of humor, weird characters, and for the poor red-headed Giselle….trouble. This story is told from Giselle’s point of view. **Sexual content http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...

I really enjoy mysteries and when I read the book description I thought I'd give it a shot. When I started to read this I found I was sucked in by the author's quick wit and character descriptions. Yes the grammar was in need of a good editor...but that aside, the hilarity of this story more than compensated for the need for grammar. I found myself laughing out loud during many of the scenes. And having grown up on Bugs Bunny...the original, I absolutely loved the reference to Pepe Le Pew. I could visualize so easily what Vector looked like and found his character to be so stupid it was incredibly funny. The story was reminiscent of skits you'd find with Abbot and Costello or a Bob Hope movie. I would recommend this. The laughter that bubbles up inside you is worth it.
this is a 2.5 rating. the relationship between the hero and heroine was not very believable. first time they meet: he's giving her the appreciative eye; second time: downright ticked; third time: kicks her out of his office; fourth time: makes out with her in a closet after a angrily chasing her? then they quickly jump into bed together, with no relationship and she is surprised that she has to walk the 'walk of shame' the next day? give your heroine some self respect and some backbone!
I enjoyed the idea of this book, and finished to see if she captured her ghost, but the 'relationship' wasn't there.
constantly pointing out the flaws of your hero and then making her settle, just made me feel bad for her.
Giselle is on assignment from her magazine. She needs to find a true ghost and write an article or she will be out of a job. Ryland is a local man, with a mother who professes to have physic abilities. Simple story girl meets guy, has sex, breaks up and then can't live without each other. Giselle and Ry are trying to learn who is trying to kill her. The story starts out amusing then slowly drones on, the characters less and less funny as you struggle to the end. By the time you get to the end, you don't give a damn who wants Giselle dead or why Ryland's mother is such a pain in the ass. Better to pass this one by.
This story wasn't bad. There is romance, sex (too graphic for me), a mystery and Savannah. I got this book because ever since I visited Savannah I've been reading anything I can that takes place there. The mystery wasn't very mysterious but it made a plot. Anyone with at least half a brain would figure it all out by the half way point of the book. The writing style wasn't bad but the editing was atrocious. And the humor-points to the author for trying but mostly is seemed forced and not really funny. P.R. Mason isn't Janet Evanovich, MaryJanice Davidson or Anne Charles. 3 stars because it isn't a bad book, it just isn't a great book.
I bought this via the Kindle store as a freebie. I'm glad.
The thing is that I bought it without looking at the cover. That's a romance book's cover if I ever saw one. I was just hoping for ghosts and funny. 4 chapters in, the main character and her love interest are inexplicably locked in a closet rubbing up against one another. Ok...seriously, why do I care? How does this sex scene add to the ghost hunter story I'm trying to follow?
I stopped reading when they got cozy in the closet. Bleah.
Oh my! I have not had this much fun reading a book in a while! Gisele is a reporter and she needs to find a ghost for her story. She keeps bumping, literally into Ry. She knocks him down, spills drinks on him and that's just the first night. The mad cap adventures take her on a phony ghost tour, a date with a skunk who thinks he is an artist, a bad run in with a psychic and a crazy nude guy. I have to say I chuckled all the way thru this book.
