I don’t have the hots for my roommate … If I say it enough times, will I believe it?
Drew
Some people might say I’m allergic to change. They’d be right.
I’ve lived in the same house my entire life, worked at the same company since I graduated from college, and hung out with the same three friends since middle school. If you think that sounds boring, you’re in agreement with my new roommate—my sister’s best friend, Andrea Ruiz.
Andy has always been a ball buster, a hell raiser…and she’s also the sexiest woman I’ve ever met. I let her move in because she was down and needed a place to stay, but she’s taking a hammer to my carefully constructed life.
Andy
My grandmother’s always told me I’m too impulsive for my own good. Should’ve listened to her, I guess. I posted a few (very tame) videos of my feet on a platform known for its racy content, and suddenly found myself homeless and out of a job. But Drew took pity on me and gave me a place to live, and now the Fairy Godmother Agency, a husband and wife P.I. team who thrive on anarchy, is offering me a job.
Drew’s so solid and reliable. I know my chaos is driving him crazy, but there’s a part of me that likes driving him crazy. I want to crack his shell. Because in the brief moments when he lets himself relax his rules, he's surprisingly irresistible.
ANGELA CASELLA lives in Asheville, North Carolina with her husband, her daughter, and their ill-behaved corgi in an extremely small bungalow. She spends her days writing and pretending to market. She writes solo romcoms and also has three co-written series with Denise Grover Swank.
4.25 stars This was such a delight! I love it when the traditional roles are reversed and the guy is the shy, nerdy, book-loving introvert. I fell in love with Drew.🥹 It also had great tropes - roommates to lovers and best friend’s brother. I absolutely LOVED the humorous moments in it, both between the main characters and between them and their friends.
It would’ve been better if I had read the previous books in the series before this one, since there were couples and side plots that I wasn’t in on, but I still really really enjoyed it.
There were certain elements of it that reminded me of Lease on Love, which was also really good!
There's nothing wrong with it, it's just not my type of story. Andy was hurtful even though she said Drew was the best man she'd ever known. He didn't deserve that.
This was my first book to read by the author and I didn’t know what to expect going in, but it delivered in the perfect way!! I throughly enjoyed the characters. The development of each was spot on. The storyline was on point. And it was overall very well written. It was one of my fav tropes and I very much look forward to purchasing all of the books in this series to read in the near future.
Another good book for the fairy godmother PIs. I realized somewhere into this that I have already read a book either later in this series or possibly a spinoff series. I knew the name Burke (a friend) was familiar but in this book they delve into the disappearance of another friend, Leonard. Things started to click. As more details emerged it confirmed the Burke story I read before was this Burke. There’s a scene in that book that I definitely want to read again with the context of knowing the characters from this series. I’ve been wondering this whole series if these are the same PIs from a different book I read (not Burke) and now I’m guessing they are.
ANYWAY, it’s Drew and Andy’s turn. I’m a fan of the brother’s best friend trope, or in this case the best friend’s brother. Often in those either the FMC had a crush on the older MMC, or he was her tormentor. In this book neither is the case - he was nice to his sister and her friends. They thought of him like a brother too. Andy finds herself needing somewhere to live and with her best friend moving in with her boyfriend, Drew has space. It doesn’t take too long for her to see a whole new side of him - literally - that starts to shift her perspective. His perspective started shifting years ago.
I really like the dynamic between the recurring characters in the Asheville series. There’s familiarity, comradery and lovely banter.
Damien and Nicole, the Fairy Godmothers themselves, don’t take up a lot of room in this story, but their appearances are still important.
The lovestory between the reluctant roommates is not the best part of this book, even if it lifts towards the end. I feel like I’ve read all of their encounters before to be honest, there is a kind of pattern in the insecurities (the woman has committment issues, the man has never been really in love before) and frankly I’m a little tired of the amount of sex scenes. I have nothing against a bit of spice in a story but there is something called to much of a good thing too. I find the story so much more interesting than details about how, where and when the couple gets it on. But I might be in a minoritet here. Anyway, this is my missing fifth star.
I really enjoy the character descriptions and how the relationships in the group evolves. More with the side characters in this particular book, but this is a strenght in the series overall.

I was sort of torn after finishing this book. I both liked it and was also frustrated by it.
I've loved all of the couples leading up to this book and considering both Andy and Drew have been secondary characters in previous stories I was looking forward to their romance, but sadly I felt that their chemistry didn't spark.
Normally, I feel like forced proximity couples build up a ton of chemistry, either through their animosity towards one another that eventually turns into ripping off one anothers clothes, or long stares that turn into intense heat that also make clothes fall off, but these two did so well at avoiding one another that sparks didn't well...spark and clothes didn't magically fall off. Their chemistry fell flat, at least for me. I had such high hopes and loved both of them, especially Drew, he's a big sweetheart, with a big....um....heart. Yeah. 😉
What I did like was the returning cast and the shenanigans that ensued, along with the entire nutty gang and all of their crazy antics. I love the plans for what's coming next and even if this particular book was up and down for me, I still love this world and plan to return for more.
Drew and Andy are opposites who fit together perfectly. Drew is the sweet, kind, protective, nerdy man and Andy is a take no crap from anyone, always has to be strong, sassy woman. Their story was sweet, funny, and had my emotions all over the place. I loved that there was a mystery to be solved and that the outcome was good. Damian and Nicole are just a hoot and I’ll miss them.
We’ve gotten to know Andy and Drew a little throughout the series and I was excited to finally get their story. The sexual tension and chemistry between them had me rooting for this will-they-won't-they romance. I think they make a great couple and balance each other out. That being said, I do feel that the romance aspect of the book fell flat and even felt rushed to me.
The banter and sassy dialogue kept me laughing and entertained. All the previous characters are involved and bring depth to the story. I think I loved the scenes with Drew, Rafe, Griffin and Reggie the most. Nicole and Damien, of course, add some drama and amusement. The overall story is fun and entertaining, with a little bit of a mystery to solve. While this is the last book in the series, it sets up what will be a great new series to follow.

This is the fourth and quite possibly (as you’ll see in the epilogue) final book in the authors Fairy Godmothers Detective Agency series. Although It’s difficult for me to imagine the authors ever truly allowing Nicole (one of their favorite characters as demonstrated by how many series she’s popped up in) and her husband Damien to ride off into the ether. This is the story of Andrea “Andy” Ruiz and her BFF Marnie’s older brother Andrew “Drew” Jones. When it was revealed in a previous book in this series that Andy was fired from her job as a preschool teacher and her dying Abuela kicked her out of her house when it was discovered Andy was selling videos of her naked feet on Only Fans some pay subscription website that caters to people with odd fetishes. Turns out later that Andy was only doing it to raise money to help keep their house up. And her Abuela only kicked her out because she didn’t want Andy to have to watch her slowly die like she had her mother. But anyway, Marnie had just moved out of the childhood home she and Drew grew up in to move in with her now fiancée Griffin (theirs is the 2nd book in the series) so Drew invited Andy to move in. Two things you need to know at this juncture. Marnie and Andy have been best friends since they were in kindergarten and Drew has always been a big brother to both of them. Andy is as Marnie described her in her book one of those people that are predators in that she doesn’t take shit from anybody while some people like Marnie and their other BFF Grace (see the first book) are like prey. Andy appears all kick ass attitude and fire to those who give her reason. She seems to live her life large and loud. Drew Jones is a nerd who when he’s not working as a video game designer likes hiking, camping and playing D&D with his closest friends. Drew is quiet and he thinks he likes his life quiet, still living in the house he grew up in and co-owns with Marnie which he's decorated in quiet peaceful or as Andy sees them, boring neutral colors. So in case you haven’t figured this one out this story is an best friends older brother/opposites attract/close proximity trope. There isn’t a whole lot more to say about Drew. Physically he’s tall and handsome and since he’s been working out with his younger sister’s fiancées (one of whom Rafe used to be a physical trainer) he’s packed on some muscle. As quiet as Drew is he is still fiercely protective of his sisters and Andy and his close friends. He’s also a very decent guy who tries to do right by everyone. Drew has been in the same job since he graduated from UNCA even though his new younger boss is a tool. He and his friends have been developing their own video game on the side but Drew seems reluctant to call it ready even though everyone else says it is. Drew has also in the past couple of years begin to see Andy as more than his sister’s BFF. He sees her as perhaps the world’s most beautiful and stimulating woman. But because she is his little sister’s BFF and now his roommate he’s working hard to ignore those feelings. Andy was for me the far more interesting character. I suspect because the authors are women they have a much better time understanding women and what makes them tick so the female characters are usually the deeper more complex characters in contemporary romance a genre written mostly by and for women. Andy appears tough on the outside and she really is. But she’s also very vulnerable and somewhat insecure. She grew up poor on the wrong side of Ashville. She watched her mother give her heart to men who just kept taking from her without giving. That includes her two older self-absorbed brothers Theo and Jack whom she treated like princes. Her abuela warned her that is what happens when a woman falls in love. So at thirty Andy has had her share of lovers. But she’s never had a real boyfriend who lasted more than a few weeks. Andy who has always been drawn to guys with big muscles and small brains as always seen Drew as a nice guy. A dependable older brother type. Until one day she sees something she can’t ever unsee and realizes he’s all man. She also begins to see that Drew is always willing to do things for her, not expect things from her. Combine this with Andy’s discovery of how well endowed Drew is and she’s suddenly very interested. But beyond her usual fear of allowing herself to fall in love and be used by a man, she is even more aware than Drew of what would happen if she and Drew were to begin something and it didn’t work out. Her friendships with both Marnie and Drew could be destroyed and now she could also lose her place to live. Drew (because he is a great guy and cares about Andy) volunteers to check on her grandmother because her grandmother has gone radio silent on Andy and refuse to see or even talk to her. Drew decides he and his buddy should do the repairs to the house that Andy had been trying to slowly do in order to get into her abuela’s good graces and convince her to let Andy move home. Andy has no idea Drew and his buddies are working on the house. Only that he’s going over there regularly to check on her and try to convince her to talk to Andy. In the meantime Drew acknowledges to his sister’s fiancée’s Rafe and Griffin and Rafe’s annoying but funny father Reggie that he’s falling for Andy and they try to give him advice. Enter Nicole and Damien and their Fairy Godmother Detective Agency. After manipulating Drew to offer Andy a place to stay in the previous book they now offer Andy a job and to mentor her in the P.I. business. Andy discovers eight years ago one of Drew’s good friend’s Leonard disappeared on a camping trip and is presumed dead. Drew was supposed to accompany Leonard on the trip but backed out leaving Drew feeling responsible for Leonard’s death. Andy believes Drew’s guilt and lack of closure is the reason behind why he seems stuck. So she decides discovering definitively what happened to Leonard will give Drew the closure he needs and allow him to move on with his life. She needs to convince our super sleuths Nicole and Damien to help her out. In the process working with Nicole and Damien she also discovers information about her brother Theo who is a complete prick as well as being self-absorbed that could ruin him. She also discovers things about Leonard that indicate he may be alive and if he wasn’t he may have been murdered and it involves the parents of Burke, one of Drew’s closest friends. And though it takes a long time the close proximity thing works to force Drew and Andy to have the most explosive sex of their lives. But while Drew is all in and ready to claim Andy publicly to his sisters, Andy waffles. Which is what caused the big fight between them at his sister’s party that closed the previous book. This is a contemporary romance so of course it comes with a happily ever after. But it’s an intriguing, entertaining ride to get there with all the goings on.
- i liked drew and andy as a couple. i liked their communication and how their love language seems to be acts of service. - i loved seeing rafe and clay in this book. - i loved drew’s friendship with his sisters’ significant others. - the conflict confused me because i didn’t know who’s side to take. - i feel like they said i love you too quick imo. drew’s generally a really nice guy so it’s not like he did anything special for andy. but i guess the little things really do count. - i loved the storyline of her walking in on him because it really added a dynamic to their relationship. I GASPED OUT LOUD WHEN IT HAPPENED.
favorite parts: • “I have a natural curiosity and spent half the night searching for her account after I found out she was on there.”
• “Not what I meant. You have a thing for her, and she just said she sees you as a brother. What are you going to do about that?” - i love rafe
• “I’m gonna let you borrow my copy of the Kama Sutra. Now, I know what you’re going to think, but it’s just frosting between the pages. I was looking at it when I had this big box of donuts, and—” - reggie is so funny
• “It’s appropriate!” she says, thrusting it at me. “They’re little balls.”
• “His blush burns brighter. It’s…cute.”
• “he’s just Drew, like he has a category all to himself in my mind.”
• “I’ve known Drew nearly my entire life, but there’s so much more I’d like to know about him.”
• “I have to give Drew closure.”
• “Drew grins at me, and in that moment, looking at him with his face lit up like that, his hair a little messy, I feel like someone punched me in the chest.”
• “I’ve played a couple of the games you’ve designed before,” she says quietly. “Your design work is awesome. I took a bunch of screenshots so I could show people and brag about you.” “You did?” I ask, my heart feeling warm and full. I like the thought of Andy being proud of me, of her telling other people about me like I’m someone special to her.” - i really liked this part because she was so supportive and it’s so cute
• “I’m going to ask your sister to marry me,” he blurts. “I was hoping I could get your blessing.” - i love you again rafe
• “Scoot over, the couch is big enough for the two of us, and I really want to see that red Fabgadget.”
• “His hand is making maddening circles on my hip. I’m not even sure he realizes he’s doing it, but it feels fantastic, and if I draw attention to it, he might stop.”
• “You’re perfect to me,” he says, and more tears well in my eyes, because I believe him.”
• “I got you some ice cream,” he said, bypassing the freezer and grabbing a spoon from the drawer. He brought over the pint and handed it to me. “I noticed you were out.” - it’s the little things 💔
• “We’re not always drawn to people who are just like us, though,” Sinclair says, watching me.” - LOVE CLAY
• “Yes, it would have to be. Then again, you know all about enormous things.” He gives me a look that tells me to shut up, or maybe to stop tormenting him if I’m not going to please him as well.”
• “Only a little.” There’s no time for me to feel devastated, because he finishes, “because I already had it bad for you.”
• “I’m here with you. We’re going to work through this together.”
• “Rafe smirked at her. “There’s nothing she likes better than an authentic 90210 experience.” - THE REFERENCE I LOVE
bonus: • “Andy is the exception to all of the rules I made for myself. She pushes me—usually in good ways—and I’m a better man because of it.”
Excerpt From A Reluctant Roommate: A Forced Proximity, Slow Burn, Best Friend's Brother Romantic Comedy (Fairy Godmother Agency) Angela Casella This material may be protected by copyright.
A Reluctant Roommate by Angela R. Casella, is the fourth book in the Fairy Godmother Agency Series, this time we get to know Drew and Andy better. Andrea "Andy" who is a beautiful independent woman who wants to do everything by herself but unfortunately she lost her job and due to a series of circumstances she is also kicked out of her grandmother's house, so she ends up as Andrew's housemate" Drew", who is none other than her best friend's brother, to whom she has always been attracted, he is an introvert and a bit of a nerd. They all grew up together and she always saw Drew in a very correct way and with her life very outlined, she is the complete opposite, without plans and always spontaneous, but living together they manage to see beyond the preconceived ideas they had of each other. Apart from being entertaining, this story was full of moments of comedy, mystery, some moments of tears but also many moments of passion, romance and love that you will not want to stop reading, I am definitely going to read the rest of the books in this series. Super Recommended! *Thanks to Angela R. Casella and Literally Yours PR for my ARC. I voluntarily leave my honest review*
A Reluctant Roommate is Angela Casella’s fourth book in the Fairy Godmother series. I recommend that people read both Bringing Down the House, A Borrowed Boyfriend, and A Brooding Bodyguard beforehand, although it’s not necessary to have read A Stolen Suit. Readers were introduced to the main characters, Andy and Drew, in A Borrowed Boyfriend.
Andrea “Andy” Ruiz is Marnie Jones’ 30-year-old best friend since they were 6 years old. Andy has recently been fired from her job as a preschool teacher and kicked out of her dying Abuela’s home. Andy is tough and forthright from years of putting up with her two older punk brothers. Sinclair Jones has chosen her as the newest project for the Fairy Godmother Agency.
34-year-old Andrew “Drew” Jones is the reliable, steady older brother to movie-star Sinclair and Marnie. He is guilted into taking in Andy as a roommate, and then realizes that she’s sexy and he’s attracted to her. Drew is unhappy in his IT job, designing video games. He hangs out with the same three friends since middle school, playing Dungeons and Dragons. Drew is reluctant to make any changes in his life but feels some angst since his sisters have moved on with their lives.
After spending time with Drew as housemates, Andy falls for him. She battles feelings of inadequacy against her desire for him, while also fear of jeopardizing her relationship with Marnie. The male characters all encourage Drew to pursue a relationship with Andy. There’s multiple comments about their given names being only one-letter different.
The best friend’s older brother and opposites-attract tropes are frequently used in romances, but this story contains some romantic suspense as well. Andy and Drew are likeable, and there are plenty of appearances of characters from previous stories. The reader is pulled into the mystery of what happened to Drew’s friend, Leonard, who is presumed dead. There are plenty of comedic moments due to Nicole and Damien Mitchell’s antics.
Overall, I enjoyed A Reluctant Roommate but would have preferred less profanity and graphic sex scenes. The story concludes with the possibility of a sequel featuring Drew’s friend, Lucas Burke IV.
I downloaded the story from Kindle Unlimited for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This series is one of my favorites and I’ve loved every book so far. Andi and Drew had it tough because they followed my favorite couple of the series, Sinclair and Rafe, although I’ve loved them all. Andi and Marnie are BFFs so she’s known Drew forever. He’s sort of like a brother to her so when Andi needs a place to stay in a pinch and he’s got plenty of room, he’s her safety net. They’ve always gotten along well so being roomies shouldn’t be too bad, except things don’t go as planned.
Drew really regrets not locking the door and though Andi was shocked, she’s not entirely sorry to have walked in on him during a private moment. In fact, she really enjoys teasing him about it, much to his chagrin. I liked both characters from the earlier books and enjoyed watching them come together, even if it was a bit frustrating at times. They spent far too much time avoiding each other for my liking so I would have liked to see them interacting more but I really loved their story.
The usual cast was present and I enjoyed seeing the guys on their own, since Drew hangs out a lot with Rafe and Griffin. Nicole and Damien play an integral role in the story as always, so a few surprises are guaranteed. There are a lot of fun characters in this series but nobody shined more brightly for me than Reggie. Yes, you read that right and if you’re a fan of the series, then you’re asking yourself ‘what is wrong with her?’ but I promise, you will agree.
He’s full of astute observations and sage advice for Drew, who isn’t exactly receptive but can’t seem to avoid him. This book had me laughing out loud, mostly at Reggie, but everything about it is fun.
My new favourite title by AR Casella. The 4th book in the Fairy Godmother Agency series is the best yet.
This is definitely a series that goes from strength to strength - every time I read one, I think it's my favorite and then the next one comes along and it's even better.
Andy and Drew are great together - you can feel the chemistry between the characters as you read. They are such different people yet they seem to fit together so well.
Add in a little mystery and suspense and it takes this read up another notch.
What I really love about Angela Casella's writing is the way she manages to introduce additional characters into an existing fictional "world" in a subtle way that doesn't in any way detract from the main characters and story, but rather enhances the storyline, while also building just enough of a connection to those new characters that it leaves the reader wanting to read more about them in the next book.
She's done it again in this book with the introduction of Drew's friend circle, whom I now want to read all about in their own stories. And, I'm still looking for some kind of hints on where Shana's story is going - I really want to see what's in store for her.
Am I glad I read it - yes Was it a waste of my time - not at all Would I sit down and read it all over again - yes, I could Would I read more by this author based on this book - definitely - actually now making my way through her "Matchmaking" series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
"She's like the sun during an eclipse - everyone tells you not to look with your bare eye, but it's hard to resist when all you want to do is lean close and take a look at something so rare and beautiful you're never going to forget it."
The final (?) book in the fairy godmother agency series wraps up with Andy and Drew. Andy is a strong independent woman who happens to have a crush on her best friend's brother. Drew is a nerdy introvert that doesn't necessarily like to color outside of the lines, which doesn't bode well for his crush on his sister's best friend. Andy is going through some family drama and ends up becoming Drew's roommate. Drew obviously ends up wanting to help her fix her family drama and in the process Andy ends up helping him uncover a decade old mystery.
I loved Drew and his protective streak, even if he was a little dumb about it sometimes. Andy honestly kind of frustrated me with her self righteousness over her independence. I also loved the little bit of mystery that was involved with this book. This book also had some spice to it which was great, but I did feel like it was lacking a little compared to some of the other books. Not necessarily a bad thing, just wanted to add that in so others are aware.
Overall I still really enjoyed this book and I love the characters throughout the whole series. I can't wait to see what Angela does next and I hope to see more of our 2 favorite fairy godmothers in the future.
We are now on book 4 of The Fairy Godmother Agency Series & I LOVE IT! ♥️ I was so happy to read about Drew’s and Andy’s Story. They are my favorite couple of this series hands down.🥰 We have Andrea (Andy) who is a independent woman who wants to do everything herself & unfortunately she lost her job due to a side hustle that really helped her & her family. That side hustle lead to her getting kicked out from her grandmother’s home. She then moves in with Andrew (Drew) who happens to be her best friend’s (Marine) brother. They all grew up together. We have Drew. He’s protective of the ones he cares for & seems like the sweetest brother and friend. However he’s the complete opposite of Andy. Andy is colorful & vibrant and Drew, well he’s not one to color outside the lines & take risks. That’s all about to change… I definitely believe opposites attract and they bring the best out of each other. The sexual tension was sooo intense. Definitely a slow burn but this author has a way of making it completely worth the wait. 🥵 Just like the other 3 books before, this is such a perfect mixture of Romance, Comedy, Mystery, Spice & some Tear Jerking moments. I live for the Reggie’s moments! He’s hilarious & I love seeing him in each book. 😂 I also loved seeing all the characters all together. This was a AMAZING series and most definitely 5 stars! 👏🏼❤️🔥 I’m so pumped to read about Drew’s friends! 😱
A Reluctant Roommate - Fairy Godmother Agency #4 - Review
Couple: Drew & Andy
Author: Angela Casella
Tropes: roommates, sister’s best friend, best friend’s brother, forced proximity, friends to lovers
Review: A sweet friends to lovers romance that is filled with angst, heartache and family betrayals.
Drew is a sweetheart. A nerd at heart who has liked his sister’s friend for years but thinks he is not good enough for her. I felt like Drew was a character who makes you swoon. I loved reading about how awkward he was with Andy and how he struggled with admitting he wanted her more than just a friend. His character development was spot-on and I felt bad for him since he was so open and Andy was so hurtful at first.
Andy was a broken girl who felt like her family left her. Rooming with Drew went to awkward real fast when she walks in on him by accident and then cannot stop thinking about him days alter. Even though from her POV we saw how much she grew to like him…she still picks her fired over him and tries to hide him. I felt like Andy lost points to me for this because she knew how insecure he was and used it against him.
I enjoyed this witty and fast-paced read. The spice was good and the couple was a match…even if it took a while to get there!
Rating: 7.5/10, Drew was a sweetheart but man I wanted to shake Andy.
I loved this opposites attract, best friend’s brother, forced proximity, forbidden romance. It had the perfect balance of snort-worthy laughs, heartwarming love, real life issues, painful pasts, and spice. Drew is a game developer and the poster boy for a stable, caring, does not like change kind of man. Andy is completely opposite - bright chaos, light and energy with a side of snark. Drew is Andy’s best friend, Marnie’s brother. They end up being roommates when Andy’s dying grandmother, who helped raise her, kicks her out for having an OnlyFans page showing her feet. They both try to first ignore and then fight the sizzling-hot attraction sparking between them for all the usual reasons. There is a lot of growth for the main characters as they sort through the pain and messes from their pasts. On their way to their happily ever after, Andy and Drew have to both unpack some baggage, yells some truths and accept and embrace that happiness and their life paths have more to do with who they want to be and less about their pasts and who they were. The story includes quirky and hilarious side characters and is generally a feel good read plus there is the usual Nicole and Damien craziness as they “help” Andy with their fairy godmother treatment. I am sorry to see this series end but happy to start a new series with Drew’s friends.
Goodbye, Fairy Godparents! I will miss you terribly.
This is the last official Fairy Godmother Agency book, and to say that I will miss Nicole and Damien, aka the Fairy Godparents, is an understatement. From Nicole's total irreverence to Damien's cunningness (OK, Nicole has that, too), to the help they gave the characters throughout the series (and before), it's hard for it not to be otherwise.
This time, they help Andy, the Jones's sisters' best friend, find her own happy ending, after she was both fired and kicked out of her dear grandmother's house. The target? The one Jones brother, Drew, as she moves into his house, now devoid of Marnie's presence since she has gone to live with Griffin. And what colour does she bring to this nerd's neutral-coloured place!
And feelings, of course!
Add to that her wanting Nicole and Damien to look into the mysterious disappearance of one of Drew's best friends, and their helping her set some things right with her family and former employer, and you're in for a real Treat (yes, with a capital T)!
Laughs, emotion, more laughs, loads of heat; Angela Casella gives us the works for this last book, which will only make me miss Nicole and Damien more.
Andy just got kicked out of her grandma's house and is moving in with her best friend's brother while she figures out what she is going to do with her life. Drew's life is a little boring at times, but he likes it because it's kept him safe. Andy definitely helps spices up his life as the two learn how to live together. Drew can't help it, but the more time he spends with Andy the more he sees her and the more he can't help his growing crush on her. Andy starts working with the Fairy Godmother Agency trying to rebuild her life. Will Andy take a chance with Drew or will she focus on her new career and friends instead?
This is the first book by this author that I've read. It was a cute best friends, forced proximity, opposites attract with a touch of mystery. I didn't love Andy at the beginning, but I will say she did grow on me. I love how she was able to get Drew to loosen up and I love how he was just a good guy. While this can be read as a standalone I think you might want to read the other books in this series because it focuses heavily on their friends at time. Overall, it was a cute book with some steam and a touch of mystery.
Drew has been a great brother through his sisters' lives (more so Marnie, but that was more because their mother took Sinclair). One of Marnie's best friends, Andy, has recently been kicked out of her grandmother's home and lost her job. Nicole and Damien's first fairy godmother job was getting Andy a place to live and, since Marnie was moving out to start her own happily ever after, Nicole voluntold Drew to let her move in. They've had a will they or won't they thing going on since the first fairy godmother agency book and close proximity really ups the tension - especially when Andy walks in on Drew relieving some of that tension.
As always, Nicole and Damien are bossy and blunt, but they get the job done. Andy and Drew's banter is fantastic; especially her obsession with his enormous member. I also really liked Drew's group of friends and how great they were together. I liked Andy's growth and their plans for the future. I'm excited to see them in the next book!.

I received this from Literally Yours Promotions, in exchange for my honest opinion.
We’ve seen Andy and Drew in past books, and I was excited to get into their love story.
Drew has lived in the same house his entire life, worked at the and company since he graduated, and still has the same friends he had in middle school. Some may call him boring, he would lean more towards cautious.
Andy is Drew’s sister’s best friend, and his roommate. Andy couldn’t be more opposite from Drew. Where he’s soft spoken, she’s a ball buster. Andy needed a place to stay, so that is how they ended up being roommates.
Forced proximity is one of my favorite troupes. I found the lengths they’d go to, to avoid each other both hilarious, and frustrating. I did wish there was a bit more angst, and build up between the two. Still enjoyed it thoroughly though.
Tropes - forced proximity - Sisters best friend - Opposites attract - Rom com - Hilarious banter
At the end of the last book, Drew and Andy were moving in together. Well, Andy was moving into Drew's. And Drew wasn't incredibly excited. He likes his shades of gray living room and Andy is bringing with her ALL the colors of the rainbow. Plus, there's that whole inconvenient crush that he has on his sister's best friend. Andy genuinely sees Drew as an older brother. They grew up together after all. But then she walks in on him... and suddenly Andy is seeing Drew in a new light. He's grown up. He's handsome. And he's willing to check up on her grandmother when she can't. The two are going to be spending a lot of time together and they figure out that familiarity doesn't always breed contempt. This is a Casella joint so it's fast, fun, and fluffy with circumstances that are often over the top. Was Andy a little TOO reluctant and dramatic? For me, yes. I was also a little disappointed to see Nicole and Damien say that they're going to be taking some time off but I know that Casella will be keeping us in enjoyable reading material.
Oh how I loved this book! I'm new to Angela Casella's work so I didn't know what to expect from this series, but it was amazing.
I'm a big sucker for close proximity and best friend's brother romance tropes and this completely delivered.
Andy and Drew have circled each other all their life and its only recently that Andy has started to see Drew in a different light, but it's when she moves in with him and catches him in a compromising position that she really starts to see him differently.
This book had great comedic moments, the infomercial about the Fabgadget was hilarious. Abuela was certainly a big character in this and all the shenanigans with Nicole and Damien.
Andy and Drew had great chemistry and I loved how they were both so hesitant to act on it for fear of the other person not being on the same page.
I loved Drew and his nerdy hobbies, but it was his protectiveness of Andy that really did it for me. The way he stood up for her and helped her.
Andy really grew in this book and Drew was a massive part of that. Her new career with Nicole and Damien as a PI was so funny at times, but I enjoyed seeing her work out the mystery of Leonard and his disappearance.
I'm definitely going to read the rest of the books in this series and I'm dying to read Lucas' book.
4 and 1/2 Stars out of 5 It's official, A Reluctant Roommate is my favorite book in Angela Casella's Fairy Godmother Agency series. I thought that Andy and Drew had the best dynamics. Not to say the other couples didn't have a good rapport and chemistry, but there was something about Drew and Andy that just clicked for me. I loved how funny the two could be together and how Andy brought Drew out of his shell and made him lighten up, a lot. I know this is going to sound weird, but one of my favorite parts of A Reluctant Roommate is how much everyone, and myself, hated Andy's brothers. I mean even Andy's Abuela disliked her grandsons. I mean there is something about a common enemy that I can't help but enjoy. And in that same vein I loved that Nicole's fairy godmother skills were used to get revenge for Andy on her brothers. Cause *No Spoilers* but they did horrible things to her just to be jerks. And Nicole made sure that payback was twofold.
The characters in this series are always entertaining and the banter is filled with witty remarks. Andy and Drew have known each other for years and when Andy moves in a spark of attraction grows. I do enjoy this series and the great banter between characters as well as the ongoing relationships. I struggled a bit in this installment with the sex references. I have always enjoyed the spicy scenes and these were what I expect from Casella. However in between romantic scenes, the sexual references in this book felt less focused on romance or our couples relationship and more on slapstick sex humor. Overall these scenes didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the story, but also didn’t add value in my opinion. Once again I loved the repeat characters and the overall storyline had heart, humor and a touch of mystery. A fun rom-com that I do recommend. 4.5 stars
I love this series so much! There's light and fun, mixed with things that make you think, make the heart pound, and pull at those heart strings. This did not disappoint! Andy and Drew have been friends for most of their lives, Drew is the brother of Andy's best friend. So there's already a connection there. Drew is sweet, an absolute protector, a caregiver, someone that you want on your side. Andy, has these same qualities, taking care of her Abuela is at the top of her list. Their story pulled me in with laughs, smiles, and when a story can go from "Oh my!" to laughing... it's perfect! I love visiting with all the characters from this series, the fun they have, the shenanigans, and the connections. A must read book and will be ready for more!

"Oh, we're just roommates..." Sure, whatever you tell yourself. Angela Casella came through with yet another outstanding romantic comedy.
Andy and Drew are roommates. Andy is also Drew's sister's best friend. So no matter which way you roll the dice, things could get a little sticky.
I love the way Casella writes her characters. They are so realistic, I feel like they could just walk off the page. I also love that this book is dual perspective so we can watch the feelings unfold in both characters instead of only seeing one side. The author also does a good job of adding in side plot so its not JUST a romance that you're reading.
Overall, I love this one just as much as the rest of the series. I love Andy. And you can never go wrong when Nicole and Damien are involved!.
