I'm really enjoying this book. It's very much an autobiography as well as a self-help book. Doreen's style of writing is very down-to-earth and I find myself relating to her. I find it hard to put down but I have to go to work or do my chores, etc and then i can't wait to get back to it. I also have her book, Angels and Ascended Masters, and plan to read it next. Also want to read Angels 101. My recent interest in Angels is due to the fact that one of my mentors relayed to me that I should work with the Archangel Gabriel in my Reiki healing.

My whole life has recently turned around for the better due to Reiki. I was really super stressed out and so anxious that it was toxic. A wise friend of mine suggested that I get a Reiki treatment, that she felt it would help me. So I did. Wow! What a change. I feel like baggage I've been carrying around for so many years, that I was really even unaware of, came off me. The toxic anxiety was gone and replaced with a sense of calm and peace and joy. I spontaneously was also able to quit smoking. My desire for cigarettes was just completely gone. When I told my mentor about this she was doing a Tarot reading for me and she saw that Archangel Gabriel will be one of my guides if he isn't already. Interest in finding out more about him lead me to the Lightworker book by Doreen and it's really helpful. I feel like a whole new chapter of my life has just begun and I'm happily embracing my life path with renewed hope and positivity.

Filled with Christian Scientist bullshit. Pretty damn terrible.

This book is about Christian Science and A Course In Miracles thinking and pedagogy. If you are into that, you might like his book.
1) I was so excited to get this book as the front cover said, "Awakening you spiritual power to know and heal" and the back cover said, "It's purpose is to help you recall your 'own' devine mission..." This book did neither of those, and I regret not setting it down and turning away once I realized it was about A Course in Miracle thinking.
2) On top of not liking the type of belief it espouses, 80% of the book is the author's story, and only at tye end does she get to generic ways of being psychic.

BASIC BELIEFS IN THIS BOOK:
1) The mind control everything.
2) Eliminating coffee, alcohol, drama, tv, news, etc. can help us tune into he spiritual better.
3) "Bad" things are an illusiom and only the cause of incorrect thinking.
4) There is one source of true love and true being with no pain and nothing bad and in that state everything is hunky dory and it just "is"
5) Ego is what keeps us from being in the true love spot.

What I like about The Lightworker's Way is that it teaches through Doreen's personal experience many things healers and those who want to heal their lives should know. This book was one of the first that gave me a language to understand what I already knew through experience. Just as it is difficult to speak to a car mechanic without knowing much about cars, so too is it difficult to learn more about spiritual and emotional healing without knowing the language. Doreen taught me the basics using simple explanations and examples. Ironically, Doreen shares her dream of writing the book, and I often remembered this when writing my own. My book, Transformational Healing: Five Surprisingly Simple Keys Designed to Redirect Your Life Toward Wellness, Purpose and Prosperity, takes the reader deeper into the healing experience, going beyond wellness itself to the core of life and living--Purpose. My book also gives the reader a means to find their own personal emotional connection to physical symptoms. While I recommend this book for any healer's shelf, I advise they use it as a stepping stone for deeper exploration within. You can learn more about my book by visiting me on the author's website www.PolkaDotBanner.com .

This book got a little heavy into the Christian Science view of the world - and to each his own, for sure, but it was a bit of a turnoff for me. Perhaps to be picked up again later...but since I'm being trained as a medical practitioner and I feel strongly that there is a place for physical treatment, it's going to take a lot to get over that particular hurdle..

This isn't actually a "self-help" book it is a memoir about Doreen Virtue's life. Along the way you learn things if you are savvy to what she is talking about. I wouldn't say it is a beginner's book. This being said I have really enjoyed reading her life story. We have both lived in some of the same locations, are both psychotherapists, have both lost custody of our children, so I was able to really empathize with her story which helped me in listening better than I often do. I have been trying some of her concepts which she mentions she tried and I am seeing amazing results. I already knew these concepts but since she made the same mistakes I did, I am taking notes and redirecting my awareness.

Being a lightworker myself it was a really good book to read when I was awakening and didn't know where to go. If you think you are a healer, want to be, or just aren't sure, this was a good book to start with. She tells about all her imperfections but how you can still serve God and be of great help to others with them. It made me feel much better about myself and becoming a healer in the future.

I'm really in two minds about this book. I enjoyed the autobiographical parts mostly, but as a sceptic regarding Christian Science and a course in miracles I found those parts a bit hard to take. It was fascinating to see her path to where she is today though. Funny how she has been married 4 (?) times now though...I skimmed through part 2 as it wasn't really anything new to me. Some of it was word for word from her other books.
I just think the claim that nothing bad is real is a bit absurd and it's a cop out to avoid getting out in the world and helping improve things. Why can't you meditate and help things in a practical way? That people who are seriously ill caused it themselves it's also to be questioned. A baby born with cancer? Did she think it on herself. A newborn dying from whooping cough?? Come on. Having said all that I still have a measure or respect for Doreen virtue and find her very easy to read.

The memoir part of the book was interesting. Many parallels between our lives, which kept my interest far longer than I normally would have been. When I reached the 'psychic' portion, Part II, I found myself disappointed because it was so very much geared towards 'God' and this does not resonate for me in any way. Will continue to search for what I am looking for... But this book wasn't it. I also found her 'timeline' to be utterly confusing at certain points.

This book helped me to remember things that I had tucked away in the deep, dark crevices of my psyche. It helped me to reflect on my childhood when I would see things but not speak about them or go places in my mind to escape the realities of the world. I came to know, again, my purpose on this earth and recognized that I am here to guide, heal and transform lives. Definitely a must read.

This was my first spiritual book I read. I have read it 3 times! It helped me understand the ideas I had in my heart about the other side, angels, fairies, Spirit, etc. that I was afraid to share because of my "religious" upbringing. I found out I wasn't going to "hell" and what was in my heart was true and others knew it too.

This is a spiritually minded book, which sadly will put off a lot of people. I personally love her books. She's very comforting and enlightening. If you're on a spiritual path, you'll learn something, if you're not, you'll turn up your nose.

Engel Rafael -> genezing
Michael -> bescherming en moed

- amethist
- obsidiaan (ook goed om te aarden)
-citrien

Aarden heel bel, bv blote voeten ih zand

Weet authentiek, eerlijk en oprecht

Doreen has once again helped and inspired me along my spiritual path! Through reading this book, I have become more aware of my Life Purpose and the true meaning of Being.
It starts off like an autobiography, finishing with guidance on how to develop your spiritual, healing and psychic abilities.
A must-read for "Lightworkers" and healers alike!

The Lightworkers Way: Awakening Your Spiritual Power to Know and Heal by Doreen Virtue took me six year to fully read as every time I picked up this book I realised that is was not a teaching book but rather a complimentary diary of how wonderful the author thinks she is.

The first part of the book is a little tiring as It is mostly around the author's Life. The second part is far more interesting and related to the title of the book. I truly enjoyed that part.

As the world's leading angel expert, Doreen Virtue was aware of her psychic abilities as a child, but it would be a long struggle to become recognised for this. Doreen strayed from God for many years, distracting herself with drugs and material concerns to feel happy. She worked as a relationship advisor but her true calling to heal was so strong that she had to answer...and teach others how to heal themselves both physically, mentally and spiritually. 'The Lightworker's Way' is a mix of Virtue's biography with advice on how to heal yourself, others and the planet - it even comes with an entire section of healing prayers, meditations and chakra cleansing techniques to develop your psychic abilities. If you've always wanted to awaken your spiritual powers to serve the greater good then this book is for you.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
