Yeah I don't want to hear it... I like reading trashy books.

So I have an embarrassing confession to make, and I hope this doesn't make people lose respect for me. =) I caught a rerun of Keeping Up With The Kardashians over the summer and.... somehow became hooked. So naturally, I read this book - and it was cute. Better than some other memoirs I've read this year, but not as good as others.

I was surprised at some of it, though - like Khloe wears extensions because her hair fell out with the stress of her dad's death. I also have to say, wow Khloe seriously does not look like ANYONE else in her family. I always thought so, but seeing pics of them as little girls just cements that. Kim and Kourtney were dark and Khloe had light hair and light skin and green eyes... hmmm...

Anyway, it was a cute, fun book to read last night when I wasn't feeling well.

I loved this book! But it is probably a result of my love for the Kardashians. Even though many people might not take this book seriously i thought it was great. It really provided a lot of real life helpful advice for young girls, women, and men can benefit from this book. It is a tell all about their life, they talk about the death of their father, their family, their work ethic, and what it takes to be successful. Even though there are a lot of pictures in it they really help capture the girls memories and the girls all tell their own stories about them. They also talk about all of their favorite things and the important relationships in their lives.
I think the overall theme of the book is to go after what you want. The own two clothing stores and are always involved in different projects, well they discuss how nothing in life came easy for them. They gained popularity because of their father but they discuss how everything in life they earned and they learned how to earn and spend money wisely at a young age. Their family is a huge part of their lives so it is also a huge part of the book. they recommend spending as much time with your family and appreciating your family because at the end of the day you will always have them.

While I am not sure why I ever put this book on my to read list, this has got to be the poorest written book ever. It was like reading a book a 5 year old wrote. And the lies... such as we are not spoiled, not out to be famous, and that they are out to set examples to others that you can achieve anything if you put your mind and heart to it, oh and money isn't our values. What a bunch of crock! I didn't like this family much especially Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian and this book didn't do much at all in changing my mind. Maybe in liking them even less...I leave it up to the readers.

Ok, yes, I am a little embarrassed that I read a Kardashian book... especially one that is intended for teenage girls. And yes, I have also been known to watch their show. So now you know, but moving right along. In it, all three K sisters are doling out advise about life - from fashion and beauty to sex to selling and buying on ebay, as well as reminisce about their celebrity lives, past and present . I tried to read it from a point of view of a teen girl, and it really is an interesting book if you are one.

I am a huge Kardashian fan so typically I could not wait to get my hands on this. It was a very quick, light read. The writing style was very informal but it was interesting how alot of the book was written as conversations had between the sisters. There were also alot of pictures (most of which I have already seen online and on the kardashians blogs) but there were also some cute, fun things like letters and cards on eachother. I definitley suggest this book for Kardashian fans everywhere.

Definitely seems geared towards pre-teens. It was just okay. But, I didn't exactly expect a masterpiece from a Kardashian self-help book!

Oh, boy.

I think every single American (or the majority of the world, really) knows who Kim Kardashian is. She's pretty much everywhere considering the media tries to shove her name down our throats: There's news about her latest conquest, her sex tape, her reality show, her fashion line, her marriage, even what she freaking wears! And now that she's pregnant, there's at least one daily post about her progress. And she's not even that talented.
Sigh.
Kim has two sisters, Kourtney and Khloe, and for some goddamn reason they decided to write a book. Because apparently, they're not receiving enough exposure after all.

You may be thinking right now: "Giiirl, why are you reading this if you don't like the Kardashians?" And the answer would be: I'm reading it for the wrong reasons.
You see, I have this addiction for finding bad books on purpose and reading them to make myself angry or miserable. I like torture that much.

And right now you're probably staring at my rating for this book, thinking: "GIIIIIIIRL, what is wrong with you? THREE STARS? For a Kardashian book? Are you CRAZY?!" And my answer would be: I am crazy. Don't you see how much damage has bad books done to me? I have no sanity.

And sorry to be the carrier of bad news, buuuuut . . . I liked this book.
Yeah, yeah, I don't want to hear it. What can I say: I like trashy books. The trashier, the better.

The book is mostly about their experiences as the Kardashian sisters. They talk about fame, family, friends, school, and their sisterhood. And let's not forget fashion and makeup. Because it was absolutely necessary.

Perhaps my favorite Kardashian is Khloe. She's like, so underrated. She's actually more mature and well-adjusted than her other sisters. She has more depth. When she was telling her story, I actually felt sorry for her. I understood her.
Weird, huh?
When Kourtney was telling her story, I felt nothing. She is kind of bland. When Kim was telling hers, I swear I could hear a "It's all about me!" tone.
So irritating.

After some stories about their childhood and family, some stories about their dad's death and O.J. effing Simpson, Kim's anecdote (she really liked to mention that) about her former relationship with T.J. Jackson (MJ's nephew), tips on fame and beauty (They know their stuff, so I wrote them down), some trivia (Did you know that Khloe is a fan of Donny Hathaway, Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, and Lenny Kravitz? And that's another reason why she's my favorite), some recipes, pick-up lines ("What do you do?" "I'm a Playboy centerfold!"), some pictures (Kim had the most pictures!), a heartwarming letter for their younger sisters, some book recommendations, and cannibalism at the very end, I closed the book, and said: Not bad.

A few things I didn't like though:
It's all about Kim! Khloe and Kourtney, who? UGH. And their overused of "LOL!" Yes, we get it, you're trying to be hip. Trying way too hard. And that freaking "semi-open pout"! I never found that expression attractive, so please, I DON'T WANT TO SEE THAT ANYMORE!
And feet, dammit!

Overall, this book amused me way too much. If you have time (or brain cells to kill), don't hesitate to read this book. It's, like, so worth it, ok?

A SMALL BONUS:
*When Khloe was born*
Kourtney (?): It was like, "Khloe, please, just grow up we we can find out [How will you look like]!" Because she looked so different from the rest of us.
Think about that one.

A ‘non offensive’ commercial mess of disjointed thoughts, lists, and memories: clearly designed and scrubbed for max mass appeal. Reading this 10 years after it was published, the karjenners don’t even follow their own advice. I don’t usually rate nonfiction, but I don’t think this qualifies as non fiction. awful mess but good for a quick, trashy read.

I read this because I'm a librarian and I'm in charge of bios. Also, I read it because I love the Kardashians like my mom loves Jerseylicious. Actually, I take that back, no one loves anything like my mom loves Jerseylicious. Also, Kourtney and I have the same favorite nail polish.

"Cheating
One word: unacceptable!
Having said that, it's not like we haven't been in relationships where the guy fooled around and we put up with it for longer than we should have. Well, at least two of us have. Khloé says she's always left the second she found out."

Krap. Setting aside poor writing style and grammatical issues, the major problem with this book is that there really isn't anything in it. For people who spend a lot of time around celebrities, have more money than they know what to do with, and are constantly going from scandal to scandal, the Kardashians' book is incredibly banal. These girls are vapid, shallow, and worst of all, bland. They are really just incredibly boring, or at least, so their book would have you believe. Thankfully their book is mostly just pictures of themselves.

This book was a little bit more interesting than I thought it would be. While I love to watch all their crazy reality shows I wasn't sure that I'd be interested in their book. There were some parts that I felt they could have left out. I wanted to know about their life and in some parts they just talked about how to dress for your body type and how to deal with the pressure of being famous or when people say bad things about you. Overall I was impressed.

I picked this book up at the library for fun. I like the Kardashian's, I think they're interesting and this book was just a fun light read. There were some interesting things that they talked about, the OJ Simpson Trial, how they got famous, all about their childhood. They also gave some fun quick tips that they swear by.

Well the Kardashians look good but unfortunately don't write as well as they accessorize. I loved having a "fluff" book to do some mindless reading though. Enjoyed the tale of their creation and also all the fabulous pictures. Will look great on my book shelve with the hot pink sleeve. :) Now its on to more intense and intellectual reads.

This is definitely not the type of book I would normally read. I prefer fiction. But I think I read this only out of curiosity. I'm not an avid follower of celebutants, especially not Kim K. I do like Khloe however so I guess I read this to see what is interesting in this book. It's OK but its a miss...

Obviously it's a really bad book. No literary value whatsoever. But, I have a feeling if you're picking up "Kardashian Konfidential" it's not for the literary value. It was pretty entertaining and a good insight into the lives of the most (in)famous sisters of the 2010s, but it's not like people don't already know everything about them anyways.

I LOVE the Kardashians so this book was an enjoyable read for me! I love the insight into some of the things not shown on TV and I'm inspired by their business ethics. The fashion? J'adore! so this is now a coffee table staple for me. :)
