I've finally given myself a chance to read Elena's Journey and I was captivated every step of the way. This book is beautifully written and tells the story of a strong young woman, determined to find her way while not losing her sense of self and culture. Elena is able to do this despite atrocities of war that so heavily impacted Elena, her family, as well as many other Lithuanians and people from surrounding countries living under soviet occupation. When reading this book, I really felt like I was there with Elena. Elena's Journey became a best seller when it was released. Due to its valuable content and teachings, it remains a seminal piece of work that we can all continue to learn from today. A highly reccomended read and one worth celebrating.
