Ever Improve: A Guide to Managing Production the TOC Way

Oded Cohen started his personal journey with TOC thirty years ago and has been an integral part of the development, teaching and implementation of the TOC methodology, solutions and implementation processes. Encouraged by his students who needed help to organize, store and easily retrieve the TOC knowledge, Oded has authored U-shape which presents the way TOC knowledge is linked through the inherent logic from the problem to the solution. This special edition contains the knowledge and the underlying logic of the MTO solution and outlines the content of the implementation part and includes three of four parts (the full book will be released in few months).

Ever improve will mostly appeal to TOC practitioners and theorists.  The first half of the book covers theory regarding the thought processes and common problems underlying typical shop floor layouts.
It focuses on Make to Order systems and provides an effective injection process to ensure high due date performance.  These are explained in great detail and the second part of the book focuses on this core set of processes. However, the usefulness of these processes is somewhat limited if it is not an MTO system or DDP is not a core performance measure.
 
The editing in my copy of the book was poor as there were a number of errors but this did not detract severely from the reading experience.  The writing was easy to follow and not too dull.
