This is a great little study to do with a busy or new small group--not overwhelming in the amount of material covered each week and can be easily modified to just get to know each other or really dive deeper as a group.

My Stillwater United Methodist community group studied this book. It was an easy and positive way to start up the group, but my preference is generally for books that go into more depth about a particular part of the Bible. This one jumped from verse to verse, book to book, with little context or depth. On the other hand, it helped us all get to know one another in a positive way.

The references were good but more on the line of how many verses can a person look up and write down to emphasis her point. Our small group used it but i didn't think conversation was encourage, more like how can you not agree with evidence.

This is one of my most favorite Bible studies I've ever done, but perhaps it could have been the people I was in the study with--you know how that goes! This is not a "heavy-duty" study (I'm thinking Beth Moore or Precepts here here). It's much lower key with a lesser time commitment, but honestly that fits my busy schedule right now. I love the author's applications--the last chapter in particular is extremely helpful in generating ways to encourage others. I *encourage* you to get this book.
