Writing an ensemble review like this is always hard, because there will always be parts you like and parts you don't. I never really watched the tv series, probably due to a combination of not really paying attention to it, and being too immature to "get it" at the time. Certainly reading this makes me feel pity for other interview style shows which are mostly there to sell whatever nonsense the celebrity is currently flogging, and don't ask any interesting questions. But I don't really know if I would be watching it, even today. And maybe that's the biggest thing I can say, despite sticking by my 4 star rating.

Having thoroughly enjoyed watching Enough Rope on ABC TV in the noughties, I just as thoroughly enjoyed reading this book of extracts from the episodes. I wish Andrew Denton was still doing Enough Rope because it was a wonderful show and this book was terrific.

Great collection from a great show. Andrew Denton is THE interviewer. A cross-section of interviews from 2003 with real people as well as celebrities in the hot seat. At times insightful, very entertaining read.
