Jesus came to give us abundant life. So why are so many Christian women living with worn-out faith, struggling just to get by? What if there was something more? What if we could be set free from worry, fear, and the constant cycle of searching for significance? The Faith Dare is a 30-day challenge for women who are tired of ho-hum living and want to break the pattern of self-reliance and people pleasing by putting their trust in God alone and learning to live to please him. This energizing book will change a woman's focus from her moods and attitudes to living in the power of God's Word. It will encourage her to take the next step and begin to live out real faith in her real life.
Author and international speaker Debbie Alsdorf's mission is to help women live a better story by leading them to the heart of God's love and the truth of his Word. She has spent the majority of her adult life involved in women's ministries as well as being a biblical lay counselor and Christian life coach. In 2005, she brought together a team and founded Design4Living Ministries to challenge women to experience spiritual transformation. Debbie's first Bible study, Steadfast Love, was published in 2000, followed by ten other books and three curriculums. In addition, she has been a featured writer for Calvary Chapel, In Touch, and Focus on the Family. Debbie and her husband, Ray, have raised a blended family of four adult children. Today Debbie's favorite role is being a grandma to ten little ones. You can also connect with Debbie on Instagram and Facebook.
The Faith Dare is a challenge to live your life to the fullest within God's design for you. This is more than a motivating book, it's a 30-day Bible study, too.
Beginning with a short introduction and explanation on what it means to live life with faith, you embark on a 30-day journey of growing in your relationship with Jesus Christ and challenging yourself to take the next step. This month long study is broken into 3 sections: Live Up, Live In, and Live Out.
I enjoyed Debbie's style and presentation of the material. It's simple and user-friendly for both small group or individual use. The daily studies pack a powerful message to encourage and convict, but are still easy to do no-matter what your schedule is. The dares are not scary or overwhelming as the name makes it sound, but are rather simple steps for putting into action what you learned. Don't get me wrong, some of the dares may stretch you depending on your personality and testimony, but it's not a huge mountain to climb each day of the study.
There were parts of this book where I didn't always see eye-to-eye with the author, but overall it is a good study to work through personally or with a group of friends.

Title: THE FAITH DARE Author: Debbie Alsdorf Publisher: Revell July 2010 ISBN: 978-0-8007-3367-4 Genre: Inspirational/Christian Living
What would happen if you lived out your faith every day, in every situation?
THE FAITH DARE is a 30-day challenge for women who want to develop a new habit of focusing on God’s ways and daily awareness of His presence. It is for women who are tired of ho-hum living and want to break the pattern of self-reliance and people pleasing by putting their trust in God alone and living to please Him.
The book is set up in kind of devotional style, which includes daily Bible readings, affirmations, and challenges. Plus there is also a journal with discussion questions for you to answer (with plenty of space to write your answers). The end of each reading concludes with a prayer.
THE FAITH DARE is a book that will work equally well whether you work through out on your own, or if you do it with a bunch of your girlfriends. If you do the work and apply it to your life, it could change your life.
I’m always looking for a new devotional to work through, and this seems to be a good one. I didn’t have 30-days between the day I got it and the date my review was due, but I did work through a couple sections and read through the introduction—plus thumb through the rest of the book. I will be taking the time to finish through the study, as this one seems to have more meat than most, and I do want – desire – a closer walk with God.
If you are looking for ways to renew your faith, then THE FAITH DARE would be a good book to pick up. $12.99. 230 pages.
I would like to extend a heartfelt 1CThank you 1D to Debbie Alsdorf and her publisher for sending me a copy of "The Faith Dare" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.
Debbie Alsdorf 19s book 1CThe Faith Dare: 30 Days to Live Your Life to the Fullest 1D found me at the perfect time. I started reading this beautiful devotional when I found a lump in my breast and began the process of having it diagnosed. The daily readings, encouragement and challenges bolstered my faith and reminded me that God is not frivolous 13 He is determinedly purposeful.
I read the daily verses aloud as an act of praise when I was unable to think straight. I was encouraged by the supporting scripture and the author 19s commentary explaining the daily concept and its life application. I even accepted a few of the 1Cdares 1D that were provided as a step of faith to apply that day 19s reading to my life. The book also contains an area for journaling 13 usually where healing begins for me. The prayers to recite were wonderful primers for my faulty prayer pump that got me really talking to God in many cases.
This would be a great resource to use alone or with a group for accountability. It is completely centered in the Word of God with great practical application. Whether you 19re going through the best or worst of times, this book will encourage you to build your faith.
The Faith Dare: 30 Days to Live Your Life to the Fullest by Debbie Alsdorf is a book that most people could benefit from, however it is written particularly to women. Faith and trust is something with which most women struggle. Whether it be circumstances, relationships, children, spouses, the list goes on and on, but trust is an area in which many of us can use improvement. In the Faith Dare you are challenged to learn more about the foundation for the faith we are called to have and then to apply what you have learned into your everyday life. The chapters are set up as a chance to read, then a chance to reflect. For all you writers out there, don't worry! There is ample space to jot down your reflections and thoughts. I truthfully enjoyed this book and I think that it focused on needful areas in my life. I felt that both my faith in God grew as well as my conviction in WHY I believed what I believed. I especially appreciated the introductory chapter in the beginning of the book. I would recommend this book to ANY of my friends and am waiting eagerly for another book by Debbie Alsdorf.
