The Triumph Program is a trauma-based narrative therapy process assisting incarcerated individuals to put past horrors on paper, work through the anger, survivor’s guilt and fear that PTSD brings, and find purpose and meaning in their life experiences. The stories they write can serve as bridges of understanding for their families, creating stronger bonds as loved ones better understand their incarcerated family member. After completing 12 weeks of a small Triumph Program Mentoring Group, participants have a desire to serve others ignited as the final sections are focused on setting goals and seeking ways to serve others as a means of healing. The continuation of the program’s therapeutic benefit is contingent upon ample opportunities for service. For this reason, the HONOR Mentoring program is being developed in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as an extension of The Triumph Program. Learn more at www.HONORMentoring.org
