“A celebration of uniqueness” An important message about learning how to appreciate our characteristics and “see everyone is different.” Wish I had this book when I was little.

I love this book! It has such a good moral/lesson in it of it being okay to be different. The whole book is about a flamingo who feels different, but all of her friends tell her how perfect and fun all of her traits are. This is the perfect book to read to younger children and for students to read to themselves when they begin to read. I absolutely loved this book.

I love the message of this book. I just wish they would have used more female or gender neutral names in the characters encouraging Flo. Instead it ends up a story of a female character getting her self-worth from men.
