This is a fantastic book! I have read it several times and return to it often, because not only does it offer excellent tips and advice for developing a consistent prayer life, and deeper walk with God, it is also a wonderful devotional. Full of practical ideas, personal encouragement and scriptures to learn and memorize, this is a book that I continue to learn from and I am so glad to have it in my library. I whole-heartedly recommend The Power of a Praying Life: Finding the Freedom, Wholeness, and True Success God Has for You.
I read this book so a friend and I could discuss it. I found the book to be really eye opening. According to this author's ideas, I can really grow in my relationship with God. This author planted many new ideas and nurtured some ideas that have just been laying dorment in my life. I pray this Spring that some of these ideas will take root.
Wow, this book is amazing! I started reading this on New Year's eve and I read it everyday. It's submitting all that we are to be who He wants us to be - free, whole and successful. Everyone has to read this. :)
A book in 30 chapters that topically talk about how to live as a Christian and ends with a prayer and scriptures. Misleading title. She uses alot of scriptures to try to prove her points but many times takes them out of the context, a verse here and there that mentions and touches on the chapters topic. Sometimes her writing hints of prosperity thologogy ( if you do this everything will be ok) but not all the time.
I have read a lot of books on prayer; some of which are considered classics. This book actually inspired me more than those classics, to dedicate myself to consistency in prayer. This book is so practical and the ideas so down to earth, they are within my ability to accomplish. Any book that can inspire me to pray more is worth the read. I have read it 3 times and each time have been inspired to spend more time with my heavenly Father. It is one of the few books I read every year.
This book is for beginning Christians. Perfect for people who are new believers in Christ. My only problem is after reading alot of Stormies books, I've been hoping she would get more deeper in her writings. She continually writes about the same stuff most Christians already know. It would be nice if she delved deeper and wrote something worth reading.
The Power of a Praying Life is a practical guide/ devotional for those seeking to grow in their Christian faith. I am a huge fan of Stormie Omartian's work. She is best known for Power of a Praying wife (my absolute favorite of her work). Each chapter teaches in different areas such as, "Take control of your mind" or " Refuse to give up". In addition, each chapter includes a prayer at the end with scriptural references.
If you want to know more about Christianity, this is a great book to start with. Especially if you are a non-believer or new to the teachings of Jesus Christ. I would highly recommend this novel to anyone who is new to Christianity. I couldn't possibly rate it any higher.
El libro es bueno, pero ya después de haber leído el poder de la esposa, que ora, y los anteriores libros que me encantaron, este se me hizo repetitivo, pero no deja de ser bueno y no deja de darte la paz que necesitas en Dios
Somewhat simplistic in its ideology that since something worked for the author, it should work for everyone. Good advice revolving around prayer and the methods certainly won’t lead a reader wrong.
