Now that the voluptuous delinquent Akutsu has made herself at home in Oyama’s apartment, he can’t decide if he wants to learn to live with her or dump her out on her pert round butt. He’s never been one for confrontation. How could he ever hope to win a fight with her? He's busy twisting himself in a knot about what to do when a shocking revelation comes to Akutsu isn’t just playing around, she’s run away from home. Does this change everything?
The delinquent girl and nerdy introvert guy saga continues. The main characters do seem to be growing closer, emotionally, even if they consciously deny it. Riko realizes that Oyama makes her heart flutter a little, she likes receiving head pats from him, too. She's developing feelings for him, and feeling attachment towards him. She even lets her guard down and says she likes him before playing it off as a joke.
This series is "okay", but inferior to Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro, whose coattails this series is clearly riding in on. I kept expecting there to be a big reveal that Riko's home life is genuinely shit and he really does need to actually help her....but so far Riko and her Mom just bicker about petty things like who ate whose ice cream, etc. Her delinquent friends are getting annoyed that Riko doesn't hang out with them nearly at all anymore and accuse her of shacking up with her boyfriend, which she denies. To her credit, Riko keeps Oyama's identity a secret and rebuffs her friends' overtures to spill the beans to them.
I'm starting to read Riko's lines with Elizabeth Maxwell's voice in my head, since Elizabeth Maxwell has voiced these kind of delinquents before in other anime. I would definitely cast Elizabeth Maxwell for Riko if this ever gets an anime adaptation with a dub.
I'm entertained enough by this series to buy the next volume at least.
