Returning home to New Zealand after five years abroad, Romy was stunned when she met the manager of her family's farm, Summerhaze. The intense, darkly compelling Quila Morgan reacted to her with immediate and thorough contempt, though he clearly responded to her beauty.
Before long, Romy found herself fascinated by him, yearning for him as she'd never yearned for any man.
But Quila seemed captivated by her vindictive sister, Julie, and intent on breaking Romy's devoted heart... .
Skimmed this so bad, and I do not regret it. On first impression I got a feeling, indeed, a bad feeling. The writing style was just unengaging. It drove the plot slow, dry and plain. The main characters comes off stiff and flat, cannot relate to them nor found neither interesting. The romance wasn’t worth investing in. No fun, no charm, and just not very lively at all. What else? DNR.
PS. Quila? What is that? It sounds girly to me. It should have been the other way around. Heroine should have been Quila and hero Romy as it seems more fitting, no? I earnestly think the author got mixed up on the names.
