A harrowing retelling into Henry’s daily reality in the concentration camps. At times it was hard for me to follow but overall it was well written with the use of expressive language which enriched his story. I feel the book ended abruptly but overall, an insightful account. Accounts like these are important for us to read so we can understand the horrors of the past that were inflicted on humanity, with the hopes they don’t happen again.

Lest we forget these abominable horrors and unspeakable atrocities. But, in my opinion, Cyran’s recollections would’ve been better served with the assistance of an accomplished empathic writer.
