This collection of humorous essays - and a few ridiculous pieces of fiction - span the author's childhood in Grant Town, WV (pop. 500) through her adulthood in the Deep South. Light on pathos and heavy on humor, this is the perfect companion for public transport commuters, ER patients and long-suffering Death Row inmates.
Somehow this book did nothing to me. I can't remember where I got it, but I couldn't finish it. Not funny, not interesting, nothing. It's tragic that I couldn't finish a book that has only about 100 pages. I got to page 63 and then just couldn't read anymore. Didn't want to waste my time dragging myself through it, so I didn't finish.
