She's dead-set against him. He's dead certain he can change her mind...
Marienna Valdez has a cop allergy. Their cocky, superior attitudes never fail to turn her stomach. How fitting that her reward for enduring a perfectly sucky work week is a traffic ticket from one who's on the kind of overblown power trip she learned to hate when she was growing up surrounded by boys in blue. But now she's finally home, where she prepares to take the edge off with a well-deserved self-love session. Just as she gets settled in with her favorite toys, though, what should come barreling through her bedroom door but-another cop!
SWAT team sniper Marcus Pearson doesn't need detective skills to figure out just what he's interrupted. If he can keep her quiet long enough to resolve the tense situation under her bedroom window, he intends to put down his rifle and take aim at her aversion to the badge..
Warning: This title contains one sheet-wrapped, cop-and-damsel burrito with toys on the side. Extra batteries included.

Olivia Brynn is the very saucy alter ego of romance author Alanna Coca. Olivia was the one who lured Alanna into trouble as a child. She also would have been the one to get her mouth washed out with soap. Since controlling Olivia wasn't as easy as she thought, Alanna decided to set her alter ego free with Olivia's first book, For a Price, a story about one woman's journey to sell her virginity. Other books followed, earning five-star reviews and bestselling status. Alanna realized what fun Olivia had writing sexy romances without censor.
Olivia writes contemporary erotic romance near a window where the view of the Rocky Mountains beckons her to run naked through the tall foothill grasses. Except when it snows.
This is a new author for me, and this extra steamy little short story sure has made me curious to see what Olivia Brynn can do with a longer format. Position Secured is not the most detailed story, but I don't think it was meant to be. This one was all about the sexual heat between the H/h, and on that score--this book really delivers!
Marienna is a Latin beauty with a dislike of cops (she has a few cop stepfathers in her past). She hates their whole cocky, superior, macho attitudes. After a long, miserable day at work, she's pulled over by one of those insufferable cops and given a traffic ticket. Now all she can think of to turn her miserable day around is a long, self-pleasuring session with her battery operated friend...
Just as she's starting to relax, there's pounding on her front door. A hunkalicious man dressed in SWAT team gear (blue-eyed Lt. Marcus Pearson),with a large gun and flashing a badge wants in her house. Seems there's a hostage standoff in the house next door, and he needs the vantage point from her bedroom window. Marienna watches him in action, and gets turned on. Looks like there may be an exception to her hatred for law enforcement. Hostage drama over, and high on adrenaline, Marcus notices Marienna's state of 'almost' undress, her battery operated boyfriend on the bed, and puts two and two together. He's taken an oath to 'protect and serve'...would Marienna like him to service her?
Marcus...
Wow. Marienna and her francotirador (as she calls him) can certainly bring the heat! Ms. Brynn does a commendable job spelling things out. A little more background detail about the characters and this would have been pushing 5 stars. Still a very hot one hour read, and it makes me want to check out her upcoming full length contemporary, Tessa's Pride. Hopefully that one will have the same level of heat, and a more developed story. 4 stars
Mari Valdez has a good reason to not trust cops. Her mother has had several cop husbands and all of her half and step brothers are police officers. To make matters worse, after a horrific day at work, she is pulled over on the way home and given a ticket. When she gets home all she wants to do is unwind with her favorite toy, but that’s not to be when someone pounding at her door. It turns out that there is a hostage situation in her neighborhood and a sexy sniper needs the view from her bedroom in order to get a good line of sight on the suspect. As Mari watches Marcus take calm control of the situation, she begins to re-think her ban on Men in Blue.
POSITION SECURED is a steamy, sexy short read. If you’d like a quick, erotic read, POSITION SECURED is it. I enjoyed the story despite having several issues with it. One issue, I had, which was a major EWWWW, factor for me, is when Marcus is position in her bedroom looking out her bedroom window and his weapon trained outside on the suspect. Mari is just outside the window getting turned on and pardon me, she acts on her sexual frustrations by herself. I don’t gross out easy, but that scene annoyed me so much that I put the book down and didn’t pick it up until a week later. That struck me as totally immature and not sexy. Of course my strong reaction could be totally related to what I do in my personal life (umm, I work in a police department doing Internal Affairs – LOL).
However, after I got over that and read the rest of the story, POSITION SECURED was a good read. Sexy, with interesting characters, and steamy sex; I do wish there was enough space for the characters to have a little more depth but I know that’s a hard task to accomplish in such short space.
For the price of POSITION SECURED, I recommend giving it a try.
After the day she had which happened to involve another overconfident cop, Marienna Valdez just wants to crawl into bed with some of her favorite toys to work the kinks out. As much as her evening looked promising, it is brought to an abrupt halt when a SWAT team sniper demands the use of the window in her bedroom. With her entertainment for the evening on display, once the case is put to rest Marcus Pearson plans to satisfy every need the stunning beauty needs, of course that is if he can get her to take a chance on a cop.
Quick story, I so wished it had been longer with a bit more substance. Marienna and Marcus definitely had chemistry, would have loved to see where it would go.
This is a quick steamy read. Brynn gives just enough dialogue to carry the story, but mostly this is a steamy fantasy interlude with the hint of a future HEA.
This was a good, quick read. But I think that the heroine caved a little too quickly. One minute she hates cops, then BOOM, she loves them. Seems that a life time of dislike for cops was a little to easy to get past.
Other than that, though, I did enjoy the book and thought it was well written. For a short novella it was pretty well fleshed out. I don't expect to get to know the characters all that well in such a short time or have a ton of back-story. It seemed like there was enough in this, though, to make it fun.
This was a very short story, with very little lead-in. The summary on the purchase site was more of a lead-in than the actual text provided, but the love scenes were hot, and the plot believable. I will read it again, and I'd recommend it. Just don't expect the complicated story the summary/sale's pitch suggests.
3.5 Ravens. Olivia Brynn definitely has flair for bringing a man to his knees and Marienna has met her match in this SWAT guy. To read the rest of this review, please visit http://www.blackravensreviews.com/?p=...
Mari is a Latina with a dislike of cops. Marcus is a cop. This short, HOT, HOT story introduces them to each other and the sparks fly. I would LOVE to see them revisited in a longer novella or ebook, to see their story continue to evolve.
I love the cultural diversity between the characters and her hate for cops in the beginning. It definitely created an interesting dynamic for their chemistry. Super quick, super sexy read.
This was well-written erotica but it was too short to rise to the level of romance for me. But I liked it--I would have liked it to be a lot longer. I'm willing to look for more by the author.
Wow. Saying this book is hot isn't quite doing it justice. A very sexy book, not much in terms of plot, but enough for a short story. This is one of my go-to books :)
WOW! Was this story hot as anything! What a great 'fantasy'! The next time some cop knocks at my door and wants to take over my house, i sure as hell am gonna let him in!!!
