It is quite an emotional story, with two, scarred by their past, men.

After a hot one-night-stand where Drake first didn’t know who the hot guy was, Roman Campbell is a regular visitor in Drake’s head. Now Drake knows he’s a famous rockstar.
Drake is flabbergasted when he understands that the same man bought The Strickland Estate from under his nose, an estate that has a special place in his heart. He’s even more stunned when he’s hired as Roman’s constructor.
You understand Drake’s reluctance.

Being a lot in each other company makes them get close, in a sexy way, without strings.
The story developed fast, there are hot encounters, even where they wanted just a fling, there are fast-growing feelings, revelations about traumatic youth, and difficult relationships with family, it was hard and the hurt was palpable.
I enjoyed this entertaining and captivatingly written story.

Drake is the fifth book in the Twilight Falls series by AM Salinger. I feel like I've been waiting for Drake since the first book. Something about his snarky attitude just did something to me! And, let's be real, that cover? Oh my! It's perfection. Drake and Roman are everything I wanted them to be and more. There's so much more to Drake than what we thought and Roman is the right guy to show him how to find happiness. I laughed, cried and got hot and bothered. Already looking forward to the next one!

Drake is here! I repeat Drake is here!

The fifth book in the Twilight Falls book has arrived. From the very beginning of this series I was hooked, I loved the characters, the struggle, the happiness, all of it.

Roman and Drake are both so broken in their own ways that they can’t fathom a actual person wanting or able to love them. This book was so heart breaking and moving at the same time, that you couldn’t help but get lost in the pages.

What Roman shows to the world isn’t the Roman he really is. Sure, he’s a super hot Rockstar, money to burn, the world at his feet, but that all hides the scars and pain of a really messed up kid underneath. When they story delves into his past, be warned fellow readers, it’s going to make you cry. It’s sad and scary and it makes Roman deserve his HEA even more than he already does. This book picks right back up where the last one ends, at Carter’s wedding. Just when Roman meets Drake.

Drake the hot and heavy carpenter. I couldn’t have asked for a better fella for Roman! Eeep!
They have their hook-up at the wedding and think that’s that. Nothing more, nothing less.
Ha!

What a joke that is!

Roman and Drake are far from over. When Roman buys the place in Twilight falls that Drake’s had his eyeballs on for practically ever, well let’s just say there are more than just sparks flying between these two. It’s a battle of wills, and neither man wants to lose. After finally coming to an agreement, not only about the property, but their relationship as well, the fellas settle into a new norm.
Or so they thought.

That past that Roman has been running from come back to haunt him again, and Drake finds himself wanting to protect the man that he’s come to care for. Will that protection be enough? Can Roman face the fears of his past and come out the other side?

-Sigh-

I was so happy to get this book, and then so sad when it was over. For readers noggin knowing, this is a full-on gay romance, with some sensitive content including child abuse. Be warned when reading.

I was so glad Drake’s book was the next instalment in the Twilight Falls series. He had a bit of a moment in Alex (Twilight Falls, #1) by A.M. Salinger , but since then, we’ve also seen bits and pieces of this brooding guy who thinks he might have missed his only shot at love because he was an idiot (which he was, but also, it wasn’t really love).

Drake, the book, has much darker undertones than the other books in the series, and it fits the characters of both Drake and Roman. Both had some serious childhood trauma and abuse that they had to live with, and while much of the book focuses on Roman’s history and the absolutely awful things he has had to live with, Drake’s confession late in the book shows that he has also had a really, really tough childhood that has affected him his whole life.

These vulnerabilities, as well as the undeniable inner strength of both men, make them more complex and interesting characters and add a layer of realism to their love story. This realism and complexity are why Drake is def my favourite book in the series, with Alex a close second.
Neither man is perfect, and neither one has it all figured out, but together they can build a real future—if both can let go of their fears long enough to truly accept that they are loved for who they are.

And this being a HEA after all, they both find the inner strength to declare how they feel—but Drake, being the stubborn idiot he’s always been, takes a bit longer to realise that he really loves Roman and that his love is returned in full.

His proposal to Roman rivals Nathan’s for absolute cuteness, and the addition of Roman’s best friends being part of it was so sweet! It was great to see that, like Nathan, Roman also had his found family who would burn the world down to see him happy.

This is 5th book of the series Twilight Falls. It can be read as a stand alone since each book focuses on a new couple, but as always it's more enjoyable to read the previous books since the characters make an appearance in all books.
This story focuses on Drake, aka Mr. Runaway. Drake had a habit of running away when things got too serious. He did not have a great childhood and wanted to avoid making the same mistake his parents made. But then Roman comes into his life, crumbling his wall little by little and making him see things differently. Drake tried to fight it, thinking friends with benefits was the best course since he couldn't fight the strong attraction between them. Roman accepted Drake's offer; he was fighting too many demons (internal and external) to deal with a serious relationship. And they certainly steamed up my kindle, so hit together!! But life had other plans for them. They learned to lean on each other, to trust, and open their heart to love. Slowly healing their scarred souls and damaged hearts. Even though there are some emotional moments, it is not a high angst read. The issues are dealt with promptly and satisfactorily. The secondary characters (their group of friends) continue to add humor, support, and love for each other, balancing out the emotional moments.
I fall more in love with Twilight Falls with each book. Now I am off to read the next book, Tristan, and see what mischievous he gets into on his journey to his HEA.

🏡Passionate about a house! (among other things😉)

The start of Drake and Roman's story had me anticipating great things. Instant connection, ships that pass in the night who end up moored in the same town, good friend group, and a house that has them both panting to own it. Yeah, all great elements, with a set-up for a bit of conflict about the house.

While I enjoyed their story, the conflicts resolved quickly and I felt the emotional part of their relationship was swamped by the numerous steamy scenes. I found the rest of the plot a bit rushed, just prep for a quick return to a bedroom. The drama with Roman's father was here and gone in a blink and treatment of Drake's difficult childhood ditto. The exceptions were the socializing scenes with Drake's buddies which underlined their close camaraderie and devotion to a sick friend.

A good addition to the Twilight Falls series which is particularly suited if you like your MM romance on the steamier spectrum.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

A FLING OR SOMETHING SO MUCH MORE?

Oh I knew Drake was a hidden gem with a heart of gold and a soul filled with love!

When I started reading their story I said to myself Drake has finally met his match!

They have so much in common- both love bikes, satin sheets, tattoos, have checkered pasts, fear of commitment and of course they have the same taste in old houses…

Which leads us to their journey of discovering how both their troubled childhood pasts leads to hurt comfort, protectiveness, jealousies, trust and most of all- love!

I enjoyed their banter and how they got to know each other on a much deeper, soulful level knowing there is an expiration date to their arrangement…

Is Roman Campbell the exception to the rule?
Will Drake Jackson make the same mistake twice?
What will happen when the past comes knocking?

Well there seems to be a twist to the next story, I look forward to see how Tristan finds his other person!

I voluntarily received an ARC from GRR for my honest non biased opinion on this book.

Roman is a world-known rockstar, who has a bit of a reputation as a bad boy after dealing with addiction and public outbursts. Now he is clean and attending a wedding in Twilight Falls where he rans into Drake. It should be just a one-night thing, but he can't get him out of his head, so on a break from music he buys a property in Twilight Falls.

Drake doesn't think he can love anyone, after childhood he had. One night's stand with Roman is stuck with him and he wants more. When he finds out that Roman bought the property he was eyeing for so long, he gets might pissed and back out of contract (he is a builder). And Roman has to use all his charm to convince him. :)

They agree on no string attached fling, but soon they both fall for each other. It's such a steamy and very romantic story. :)

Even though it's book five in the series, I didn't feel like I was missing something, although it did make me want to read all previous books. :)

Drake and Roman 🔥
4 Stars ⭐️

Damn, this one was good! Not only was it sexy as hell, the relationship between Drake and Roman was all kinds of sweet and emotional. I really enjoyed the relationship build in this book, the chemistry was off the charts hot between these two that goes without saying but the feelings especially on Drakes part, the kind of love that sneaks up and slaps you right in the face when you least expect it. I guess I'm a sucker for the "incapable of love" trope. I thought these guys were the perfect mix of sensitive, strong and passionate together, they balanced each other very well. Another thing I loved about this one was the side characters, everyone..... from the guys we've already met to Roman's Bandmates and Izzy or course. This series revolving around these friends and this found family... it's most definitely worth every read. I'm on to Tristan's book next 😉

Roman Campbell seems to have everything but he comes from a troubled past. When he meets Drake Jackson at Carter’s wedding, the two enjoy a sensual, unforgettable encounter. Drake has his own past to contend with but he is a successful contractor now. He has his eyes on an old mansion, but it is bought before he can. He is contracted to help with the remodel and is surprised to learn Roman is the buyer. After some sparks, the two agree to a temporary arrangement. But Roman’s past comes calling and the two are not sure what they want any more.

Another one of the Terrible Seven has found his love match. Drake and Roman were amazing together but both men had baggage from their past. One has his come calling while the other could not commit. The ending was perfect and so very romantic. Pick this one up and be prepared to sigh and to cry. There are two more that need love. I cannot wait.

Life happens! Roman, is beautiful and he knows it. He is also been through some things and come out on top on the other side. He still lives looking over his shoulder, but he's sober when doing it now. Drake, crushed on his friend Alec and didn't move on his feelings. Drake and Roman, meet at the wedding of Charles and have an encounter that stays with them even after a few months. Drake is content planning on living his dream buying and refurbishing his dream house. Then he finds out someone bought his house. Life is full of surprises. Roman is thee one who bought the house and hires Drake to refurbish it. Can we reform dreams and desires? Can we start again? Are we better positioned to handle shocks and surprises? Good story. Great characters. It's great seeing friends from previous stories. Great continuity and solid support. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. I would happily buy this series. Nice cover art!

Roman is a rockstar how has dealing with addictions, after a bad time now he is clean and attending a wedding in Twilight Falls. This is where he meets Drake. Both have a great chemistry and what it should be just a one-night thing for both of them, they can’t seem to forget each other. Next Roman buys a house in Twilight Falls.

Drake have a difficult childhood and he think that he can’t love anyone, but after the one night's stand with Roman he can’t stop thinking about him, he is a bit mad when he finds out that Roman bought the house of his dreams, Roman is a builder and he was going to restore that house for him know that Roman is the owner he doesn’t wants to help him but Roman will do everything to have him, both as a builder and lover! They agree to a no string attached fling, but they soon start falling for each other, I like the explosive chemistry between them! This a low angst romance with lost of steamy romance!

Drake Jackson, building contractor, and Roman Campbell, rockstar, meet and combust immediately before Roman disappears. Neither expects to ever see the other again, but it's clear when they do that the sparks have increased to flame. Insta-lust turns to insta-love, with the expected challenges from friends on both sides, and in this story, the added interest brought about by the 'return' of Drake's friend Miles. The unexpected (and unexplored) appearance of Roman's father causes a momentary uptick in interest. And the breakup, such as it is, is what's needed to bring Drake to his senses and declare his love.

Sadly, these stories have begun to feel formulaic to me. It's become very clear that explicit sex is the apparent foundation of every relationship in this series. I have nothing against explicit sex, but I wanted and expected more from these men than I received.

I went into this book thinking that I really wasn’t that fond of Drake as thought some of his previous behaviour wasn’t great. Thought he was quite a selfish individual, I couldn’t of been more wrong! He had a lot of self doubt through his earlier experiences in his youth and really doesn’t see that he deserves happiness and someone to love. He definitely holds people at arms length so as not to get hurt. Roman captivates him from the very first moment and he’s instantly drawn to him. Roman has had a turbulent few years, he’s suffered at the hands of others and it set him on a disastrous path. He’s overcome so much and is definitely a work in progress but he’s got so much to give. He’s got a kind soul and he’s the perfect match for Drake.

The Terrible Seven add a Rock star

Roman is a Rock star and comes to Twilight Fall for Carter's wedding where he meets Drake( one of our 7). Deciding he likes this secluded sleepy Mountain town he decides to stay. He has a terrible past that comes back to haunt him but Drake saves the day and Roman's life. What I didn't like just like the rest of this series, too much sex! Sex does not equal love! We don't need an abundant amount of sex to make a love story. It would make it much more meaningful if you left some to the imagination and left unsaid till the love has grown to the point that we want to read it. A little suspense where the sex is concerned. I do love this series but a lot of chapters I have to skim through because its just to much.

This series has just gotten better with each book. Drake was in love with Alex (book 1) but couldn't commit so Alex moved away. No one knows Drake's story. He meets Roman at Carter's wedding (book 2) and has a fling not recognising who Roman actually is. Roman created havoc when he let his past get the better of him by becoming an addict and creating an enormous scene at an Awards show. After rehab he is back on track and his band is flourishing. The wedding creates an opportunity that brings these two back together and read along to see what happens next, including the interweaving story of Miles. I've already started book 6 and can't wait for book 7 to follow later in the year.

This is the fifth book in the Twilight Falls series. I recommend reading them in order. I loved this book. Drake is a tortured soul, but he is a good guy at his core. He thinks he is not meant to love anyone, but after his hook-up with Roman, he’s all Drake can think about. And Roman wants Drake. Roman is single minded in his pursuit of Drake. Their chemistry is off the charts hot. Their connection is genuine and heartwarming. I like that the series revisits characters from previous books, and there are so many great people in this town. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

I'm really enjoying seeing the way the author has intertwined the lives and stories of all of these guys so that they naturally turn up in each other's books. Here, Drake finally gets his chance at an HEA. I am a fan of stories where a famous person meets someone who has no idea who they are and we get to see that discovery. Here, that famous person is Roman, a big rock star with a past he's had to work hard to overcome and that isn't quite ready to let him go. Fortunately, by the time things get rocky, he has moved to Twilight Falls and has Drake in his corner and can also be there for Drake.

Love this series and loved this book. I think this is my favourite one in the series but I'd recommend them all. I also really appreciated that we had less Izzy in this book. She's a bit much for me sometimes but I think the balance was just right with her in this one.

Some difficult subject matter tackled, but it was done well. Angsty but but not overly so. Drake and Roman are both really likeable MCs and I liked James and the rest of Roman's band too.

Looking forward to Tristans book and I assume we get one for Miles at some point because if anyone of the 7 deserve a HEA it's Miles :)

I always enjoy a good m/m romance, so when the opportunity came to read and review a book with the “friends with benefits” trope about a rock star, I jumped at the chance. I haven’t read the previous books in the Twilight Falls series, though.

First off, the two main characters are very likeable. Roman is a rock star who’s on a break and in the midst of buying a house at Twilight Falls. He’s managed to bury the past, or so he thinks, and he’s looking for a fresh start after overcoming alcohol and drug addiction.

2.5 I did not like this book as well as others in the series. It felt really rushed and tried covering some heavy plot points far too quickly. Most of all there were several unbelievable situations or events. Their relationship was not only rushed but you just couldn’t buy how quickly they fell for each other based on their interactions. I just wasn’t able to click with this story like the others. This author tends to write stories on the short side but usually you still feel a connection with the characters more than I did this time.

Drake and Roman sure had some hot moments together and had chemistry from the start. Their start was meant to be a one-time thing, but their hearts knew better. As trouble visited them, their love grew. I had tears, even a little anger, when their pasts came into the open and when they thought they were doing the right thing. I really enjoyed this story and will revisit Twilight Falls.

Drake & Roman's story was the steamiest and most emotional so far. Their childhoods were so bad. I'm not that surprised that they gravitated toward one another. They could relate to the others pain. But I'm also glad, that it wasn't the main focus in their getting together. Their mutual chemistry brought them together, but it was through them hanging out with the other guys and getting to know one another that lead to them realizing their feelings. Also the proposal scene was the funniest!

He was a wild child and rock star who uses his music to hide the pain of his past and he is about to meet a new man at a friends wedding. They are a builder and the sparks soon fly between them. They never expected to see him again but is shocked when he buts the house they had wanted. What will happen next? Will they become the builder to repair the house? How far will the sparks take them? See if life will give them both the love they want

From the previous books in the series we were given the impression that Drake is rather grumpy and kind of a jerk, especially to those outside his friend group. In his story we find out his history that leads to his behavior and it allowed me to fall for him as much as I had the rest of the group. Another steamy romance between Drake and Roman speckled with the rest of the guys and their new boyfriends. Can't wait for the next book but also don't want this series to end!

I found this book somewhat disappointing. Roman was an interesting character with a well thought out background, but there was surprisingly little about Drake, especially as his name is the title of the book I would have expected more about his past than the few paragraphs this warranted, especially as that was the reasoning behind his reactions and choices. There could have been less intimate scenes as so many didn't contribute to the plot.

Drake is the fifth book in the Twilight Falls series by AM Salinger. I feel like I've been waiting for Drake since the first book. I love a snarky character and Drake is all that and more.
It is quite an emotional story, with two, scarred by their past, men.
What they find together may just heal all of the broken pieces inside them.
I loved seeing them get their well deserved HEA.

My heart goes out to Roman. He is a music star with a sordid past, that comes back to haunt him. He meets Drake, for a one night stand that turns up in the same town he buys a house. I loved these two. Drake is a sweetheart while also like a sex god. He protects Roman, and cherishes him. Their dynamic is awesome. Both have a set of friends any one would envy and they find love amidst some chaos. Again, I loved these two.

This is an super sweet m:m romance with lots of feels and a bit of heartbreak but an amazing love story with a even better happy ending. This is the 5th book in the Twilight Fall series. Drake and Roman are hit right from the start and their chemistry is off the charts. Drake just needs to get I’ve fresh notion that he can never fall in love because Roman is his perfect match. Loved this book from beginning to end and so glad I get to dive into Tristan’s story next!

Drake, who didn't want serious relationships, fell so hard for Roman without even recognising the signs. Lots of teasing from the friends, some bad news and then an excellent surprise.
I sincerely hope this author has more friends of friends who "don't" want to settle down so that Izzy can find a reason for them change their mind.
