Grammar by Diagram Workbook
Grammar by Diagram is a book designed for anyone who wishes to improve grammatical understanding and skill. Using traditional sentence diagraming as a visual tool, the book explains how to expand ten basic patterns for simple sentences into compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences, and how to employ verbals (infinitives, gerunds, and participles), other specialized structures, and even punctuation for additional versatility. The Grammar by Diagram Workbook provides practice exercises to accompany each chapter, including cumulative exercises with which students can check their progress at key points, a summary of concepts for each chapter, and a complete answer key.

3.5🌟 boring and frustrated me immensely but was helpful to being able to verbally explain grammatical concepts

See my review on the accompanying textbook for details.
I am grateful I ordered this workbook in addition to the text—though it was not required or even suggested. Working through multiple exercises solidified several difficult concepts. I ascribe my struggle with verbals to not completing the extra exercises here in addition to those in the text. It was a crazy week and I chose to skip the extra work and sleep instead. I’m still undecided if that was the wisest choice for the time. Verbals still taunt me.

I didn't care for this book. The reading was really dry. I mean, it is a textbook, so I shouldn't have been surprised that it was dry.
