Dora suddenly has more to worry about than getting to the doctor's office. Smashing her car, she finds herself stranded on a day when all hell is breaking loose in Kansas City. Going on is not an option, walking two miles, in this heat? This is not something she does, not ever. Where are those overpaid cops when you need a hand? They always seemed to be there when Dora was driving forty-five in a twenty mile an hour school zone, but now when the flesh eating undead are after her, they are nowhere to be found.

Walking back to the last intersection she finds a fast food place still open for business as usual, going in she meets her new best friends; Paige and Mike. When the bullets start flying the three scuttle back to take cover in the manager's office, turning on an old television set they begin to realize how bad their situation actually is. They need to get out of the restaurant, but with the chaos starting all around them, where can they go?

This book is set in the "The Zombie Chronicles Universe" and is a stand alone novel.

This was an intriguing novel and not like most zombie stories I’ve read. I expected the usual George Romero, aka: Night of the Living Dead, zombies, but what I got was Richard Matheson’s 1954, Last Man on Earth zombies. In the beginning it was also hard to sympathize with the main female protagonist, but in time her caustic nature became endearing…sort of, lol. My biggest complaint is that I wish it had better editing, which would have caught the numerous typos and errors. Normally these things would be like a nails on a chalk board to me, and I wouldn’t be able to read the book to the end, however, I was able to overlook the errors because the story was very gripping. I would recommend it to fans of zombie fans and just caution everyone to overlook the errors. It’s worth the read.

I thought Dora was hilarious. I had read some reviews of this book and thought I'd hate her cause of the way the other reviewers made her sound but I liked her. This book seemed to have a lot more kids dying in it. I'm looking coward to the next installment of this series.

The narrative is a little choppy, but this can be forgiven for its fresh feel and sassy characters.
