The Three Musketeers is a book written by Alexander Dumas. It is a historical adventure novel that takes place in the 17th century, in Paris and London. It is about the adventures of a man called D'artagnan after he leaves home to join the "Musketeers of the guard", who were the soldiers that protected king Louis of France. The Three Musketeer guardians were: Athos, Portnos, and Aramis. It was D'artagnan who thought of the motto "All for one and one for all". One day D'artagnan and his friends were ambushed by the British soldiers, and who do you think won? If you want to know more read that book. I chose to read that book because I love adventure books. The book kept me reading all night, and I learned how much the French and British hated each other and still worked out their differences. I recommend the book to everybody who likes adventure stories.
movie was alot better. Basically the protagonist is this knight who joins this group of three knights who hang together, and they called themselves the three musketeers. D'artanion is our protagonist who joins the three musketeers and, with them at his side, he triumphs over evil, goes through love only to lose the one he cares for, and friendship that goes hand and hand with courage.
Okay, it's the Stepping Stone version of a loooooooooong classic, so it can't be that great, but my kids very much enjoyed the retelling. It was a great book to focus on protagonists and antagonists.
