Πολύ καλή εισαγωγή στα σύγχρονα ρεύματα κοινωνικής θεωρίας. Παρουσιάζει τα συν και τα πλην της κάθε θεωρίας. Σε κάποια αναγκαστικά υπεραπλουστεύει αλλά για όποιον θέλει να ξεκινήσει ένα ταξίδι στο πως η κοινωνία επιδρά στο άτομο ή στο πως το άτομο επιδρά στην κοινωνία, αλλά και κάποιες προσπάθειες συγκερασμού των δύο τάσεων ας διαβάσει το βιβλίο. Ακόμα και αν θέλει να έχει μια πιο εμπεριστατωμένη άποψη για τα κοινωνικά θέματα θα τον βοηθούσε πολύ.
