A very thorough exposé of the insidious infiltration of Islamists advocating the replacement of US constitutional government with sharia, which is the pervasive and forcible imposition of Islam throughout our society. Tragically, through mis-guided "political correctness" and a political alliance of Islamists with the Left wing, this "advance" is not being resisted by our Government, but actively aided by the Islamist-friendly Obama regime.
However much anyone has ignored this downhill slide, imagining it to be a minor, peripheral issue, it turns out to be very far gone already, including not only the State Department, but the Justice and Defense Departments. A complete American turn-about is needed to avoid sharia.

Archie Bunker beating a dead horse. Let's get rid of the Muslims, let's get rid of the liberals, let's get rid of the New Deal! Some of the facts about other countries are interesting -- it's what Andrew McCarthy doesn't know about his own country that's really scary.

This book was extremely well-sourced and not too partisan. The author is knowledgeable on the subject and I feel his motives are to save our country and our culture for future generations.
The first section dealt with sharia, Islamic law. Muslims want to force the world law to abide by sharia (a Caliphate). Sharia law says women must be covered from head to toe with only part of the face showing. She must have NO contact with men or go outside the home without her husband; she is not allowed to drive or be educated; all children belong to the husband. If she is raped, he may divorce her or kill her. If she lives, she must marry the rapist or be imprisoned. Sharia doesn't allow drinking or gambling, but the 9/11 monsters did both while in the USA. Canada has very generous immigration for all foreign, so there are many Muslims there. They recently forced a vote for sharia and narrowly lost. Had they won, imams would be doling out punishments. The penalty for renouncing Islam is death, sometimes by pouring boiling oil down the offender's throat. Read the book for more...
Second section--out esteemed President Barack Hussein Obama. Born in Hawaii of Communist parents. Maternal grandparents rejected their former Christian faith to find allies in homegrown terrorists such as Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorn who placed bombs which killed a policemen. They are not repentent and wish they'd done more of the same. Obama states his mentor was Marshall Davis, a Communist leader.
Obama's grandfather was a Communist leader in Kenya who was ousted with regime change and hated Britain and America as being Colonalist Powers. His father, BHO, Sr. was also a failed Communist leader who deserted 4 wives, sometimes to obtain degrees in America where he met 2 of his wives. His brother is a Muslim leader now. Obama, Sr. left Barack's mother when he was 4. She quickly remarried an Indanisian Muslim who took them there and got Barack citizenship there. Barack later obtained scholarships to American Universities as being an Indanesian citizen. All during his formative years, he attended Muslim schools and has been heard here chanting beautifully the Muslim call to prayer. After winning office, Obama created new positions for his Communist revolutionary friends. SEIU union leaders were seen at the White House DAILY. The Christian Day of Prayer was ignored in favor of a party for Muslim leaders.
Muslims now overrun police stations in England and most of Europe, leaving citizens helpless and afraid. Minnesota and Michegan already house huge numbers of Muslims. Most all Minnesota taxi drivers are Somali Muslims. NOW is the time to make decisions about our borders AND ESPECIALLY who will be our President. PLEEEZE everyone, read this book!

This book is a must-read for anyone concerned about why and how Islam is incompatible with the U.S. concepts of freedom and liberty. The book explains why Islam IS NOT a "religion of love and peace" and "Creeping Sharia" is something we just cannot ignore anymore, as it is the duty and obligation of every Muslim to spread Islam and Islamic law (Sharia) to the entire world.
Islam doesn't separate religion and politics either. It is a sociopolitical way of life. Islamists are attacking us from within, through the political, cultural, and legal system. They are not assimilating - rather, they are separating themselves into their own enclaves with their own way of life and twisted anti-American ideology.
"The Grand Jihad" is upon us and we're too ignorant and naive to see it happening right under our nose. The mainstream media and "the left" are sabotaging and propagating the ignorance and apathy in our great country. Trust me, the book cites plenty of "examples" of this sabotage. I think that is why this book was such an eye-opener to me...I was finally able to see the truth!

Not an easy read but the author has taken a complex subject that I had heard bits and pieces about and explained why normal Americans should be concerned with the spread of Islam. McCarthy has done in-depth research into the organizations and people who are working to spread Islam and then connected the dots of how the groups were started, by whom, and for what purpose (not always the one stated.)
The book is not a conspiracy theory as he has documented each speech and each association. Mind-boggling how here in America we can prohibit the name of Jesus Christ but allow a special prayer room, daily prayers (time not made up so it is part of the curriculum) in a publicly funded school and the use of Allah and Mohammed. Yep, it's happening. You can't be truly free if you don't understand the forces subverting those freedoms.

McCarthy is a sharp guy, but this book disappointed me. He rambles quite a bit, hitting on important themes, but not really wrapping anything up. The biggest problem is the long digression in the middle of the book into Barack Hussein Obama's biography, which is covered better elsewhere.
McCarthy made a strong case that we're endangering our civilization by slowly surrendering to Islamism, but he droned on a bit long without finishing his project. I looked forward to some policy recommendations in the final chapter, but that chapter was missing. I look forward to an improved paperback edition.

I received this book in a Goodreads contest. This is an alarming book written by someone who knows Islam in America. very informative-once you start reading, it's hard to put down. I would highly recommend reading this book.

Andrew McCarthy really puts the facts about Islam out there for the American people. The research that went in to this book is extensive and backs his position that the real threat to America is not physical acts of terror but instead, it is the islamization of America. Love it!

A well-written book published in 2010 that has not received the attention it is due. Here is a thought-provoking quote from page 47: "Knowledge is power, but only if knowledge is coupled with the fortitude to confront the dangers of which one becomes aware." Wake up Americans and read this book.

An absolute rant that is prejudiced, unfair, and inaccurate. However, I didn't read this so much for the argument as for my research on conservatism and terrorism since the 1960s. In that sense it was valuable for illustrating many of the themes I'm looking at. Other than that: yikes. For my own sanity, let me just say: Obama has really not been shaped by Islam nor the leftist African nationalism of his father in significant ways; Obama is a pretty normal liberal, not a radical in sheep's clothing; there is no secret Muslim Brotherhood plot to take over America; there are alliances between the left and political Islamists in the US (BDS might be one example), but there are also huge tensions and ideological differences between those groups-just because they both have major critiques of US society doesn't make them allies nor does it mean they want the same type of society; jihad can mean BOTH holy war and the personal struggle to overcome temptation and move closer to God, and most Muslims see it as the latter; Al Qaeda and other radicals may have some loose textual sanction for some of their actions, but you could also say this about Christian extremists, and it's obvious that ISIS, AQ, and other radicals distort if not outrightly mutilate Islamic texts and traditions to justify their actions.
This book is panicky and paranoid; about half of it is just endless recitations of what Muslim groups/activists in the US have what ties to what extremists groups abroad. Of course, freaking everyone is tied to Saudi money or the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood in some way, so a lot of his connect the dots activities don't amount to much (some do, to be fair). However, if you are studying what I'm studying as a historian, this book might be worthwhile, as it touches on the following themes: the idea of Islam as essentially violent, anti-modern, and anti-Western, the idea of unilateral disarmament and denialism by the West, the idea of the GWOT as a clash of civilizations, the idea of political correctness undermining U.S. self-defense efforts, and a generalized Islamophobia in much of U.S. society.

This is for those who aren't sick of all the political rhetoric of the last few years. If you have read "Infidel" or kept up with the news, you probably have heard most of this already. If you can read it without preconceived conclusions it is more entertaining. It is interesting, and we can learn from it, or become alarmists, or not believe the ideas behind the book. It would be good to check the facts, at least, and make your own judgement. It does not read like a novel, more like a newspaper column and it does get to be a long read.

MUST READ for anyone who wants a clear explanation of how deep the inroads of Islamic Terrorists made so many in roads and "set" up sleeper cells right here in America. I am sure that for some people this is an amazing book but the more I read the harder time I personally had trouble relating with the book. I may try giving it another shot due to all of the great reviews but for now it was just ok.
