Su Angel Vengador es el quinto libro que leo de Elle Kennedy y narra la historia de Quinn y Morgan.
Encontre esta lectura mientras buscaba otro libro y en cuanto me di cuenta de quien era la autora decidi que lo leeria, no solo porque los libros que he leido de la autora me han gustado mucho ( especialmente la saga Off-Campus ) sino tambien porque cuando lei la sinopsis y me di cuenta de que no era un Young Adult tuve curiosidad por saber como escribia Elle Kennedy en otro genero.
No tenia unas grandes expectativas, solo buscaba una lectura tranquila y ligera para leer una tarde y eso fue lo que encontre. Un libro sencillo y entretenido, ademas de confirmar que me gusta mucho mas cuando la autora escribe Young Adult, no porque esta sea una novela horrible, sino porque la senti muy superficial.
Si eres fan de las novelas de Harlequin, estoy segura de que te gustara este libro.

Wooh I really liked this couple and book. The hero walked away from the heroine two years ago, after two years of being together, he was tired of being put last, the heroine's Senator father always came first and her asking to postpone their weeding was the last straw. Growing in foster care, the heroine was his first attempt at love and relationships but he walked away, missing her but refusing to reconcile. Then her dad calls him saying the heroine tried to kill herself and he had her admitted and now she's escaped. The hero has been tasked to get her back, he knows the heroine would never harm herself and her wild reputation has been built by her father.
The hero is a mercenary and the heroine a journalist. She has spent the past two years missing the hero, she knew she made a mistake but she was keeping her promise to her dead mother. First off I have to say I hated the heroine's family what a selfish bunch of people and she put them first?
The heroine tries to tell the hero she wants to try again but he is too wary this time. He will just help her on her quest for justice. Both of them have had no interest in other people and acknowledge that the feelings are still there but it's the hero who doesn't want his heart to be broken again. The events that transpired at the end exposing who killed the heroine's best friend a decade back, makes the hero see what family is.

Si bien la esencia de la situación sentimental de los protagonista es la de costumbre, la trama en general es diferente. Toda la cuestión de la investigación del asesinato de chica te atrapa, te hace señalar culpables y te sorprende, un poco,al descubrir el verdadero asesino.

Me bajé este libro en Nubico sin muchas pretensiones, pero lo hice por su autora y me ha encantado. A ver, es cortito, se lee en un suspiro y Elle tiene magia en la escritura porque me atrapa desde el primer momento, haciéndome sentir y pasar un buen rato.
Quinn me ha gustado mucho y Morgan me ha parecido una protagonista fuerte a pesar de las mil mierdas que tiene en su vida.
Vale, podría ser un libro más profundo, pero creo que muestra lo que es, una novela romántica sin más pretensiones, con una trama de misterio de trasfondo y dos protagonistas suficientemente potentes para no necesitar más.
A veces hay que disfrutar de lo que te ofrecen sin buscar demasiados peros.
Y sí, quizá soy yo que en algunos momentos necesito algo ligero como esto y lo disfruto.

I found myself rolling my eyes from the start of this one. I didn't care for Morgan from the start, she fell in the TSTL category for me. I don't understand how she didn't see how her dad was manipulating her. I also wonder if he isn't behind everything, but not enough to keep reading this one, it just wasn't for me.

The premise is that Morgan and Adam used to be in love. But Morgan's asshole of a father was always trying to interfere and Morgan always let him. She always chose him over the guy she was supposed to marry. Finally Adam had enough and left her. That was two years ago. Now, Morgan is following the case of her friend who went missing, a cold case she's been trying to solve for ten years. But when someone tries to kill her, it means she may finally be getting close to a breakthrough. And since Adam is a mercenary, she enlists his protection while she investigates.
Now first of all, how terrible an idea is it to (selfishly) enlist the help of the guy whose heart you broke? On top of that, her approach to getting him to help her didn't really involve apologies and requests. It was more along the lines of, "I'm going into danger and if I get killed, you'll hate yourself." Safe to say, I didn't like her methods.
Morgan was a little self-absorbed most of the time. It was more about what she was trying to do. But she understood that if Adam was giving her the cold shoulder, then it was her own fault. She also cared about him and did try to make amends. Just... not enough. She felt bad, but she didn't act like she did. Adam, understandably, had trouble trusting her again and I wish the novel had spent a little more time on reestablishing that trust. I wanted Morgan to choose to not let her father ruin her relationship. Instead, she hated her father for reasons that affected her. That left the reader (i.e. me) wanting when it came to being assured that she wouldn't take Adam for granted again.
But enough about Adam and Morgan. Let's talk about the other plot. Finding out what happened to Morgan's friend. It was a pretty big part of the novel. It was the reason Morgan was being attacked, why she and Adam met again, and it was a mystery.
It was Morgan's case. She's supposed to be a journalist who knows how to get to the bottom of things. But from what I can tell, she's not very good at her job. I don't know why, but we didn't see her figure much stuff out. She came to the wrong conclusions and she wasn't good at reading people. Adam on the other hand, was much better at his, and her, job. The case was interesting, but it was a bummer that I suspected only two people (one more than the other) and the result was pretty much as expected.
I did like the climax but the book was, overall, pretty 'meh'. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. It was a short read and not bad. I still love Elle Kennedy. But if you want to read something by her, I recommend starting with either Midnight Rescue (romantic suspense) or The Deal (contemporary romance).

I really liked both the hero & heroine. Loved how sensitive Quinn was and how he acknowledged both to himself and to Morgan how mych he'd loved her. Also liked that they both remembered the good times as well as the end.
What I didn't care for was Morgan's over the top selfish father and Quinn's knee-jerk reaction to cancel their wedding.

I knew Elle Kennedy from her Off-Campus series, and quite liked it. In fact I really enjoyed the series. So when I saw this book which she published way before Off-Campus series, I was curious of how her earlier works are and didn’t hesitate to pick it up.
As a romance suspense book, this book has barely anything that thrilled me. I guess it is best if I just say that it’s a romance book, though there’s murder, gunshot and such in it. The thing is I suspect the person behind that supposed-to-be suspense sequences since the beginning.
So reading how Quinn and Morgan trying to reveal the murderer and always stumble the end road was pretty frustrating me. And then there’s the fact that they work in the field that need research and facts; Morgan is a journalist while Quinn is a mercenary and they done it for years and quite successful. So how come they cannot guess when I can guess it pretty easily. That’s just annoying.
And then, as a romance book, it was quite alright. But Morgan and Quinn’s relationship isn’t the one that I shipped. I can see how they are still fall in love but I kinda wished there is more to it. I don’t know maybe more drama and angst. So their second chance more interesting, at least for me.

Describiría esta lectura como palomera: Ideal para entretenerse una tarde pero que después pasará sin pena ni gloria por nuestros recuerdos.
Siento que esta historia daba para más, es cierto que es muy típica pero podríamos haber conocido mas del pueblo de Autumn, de sus habitantes y algunos recuerdos del pasado de los protagonistas.
Aun así, agradezco que la autora le de personalidad a las protagonistas femeninas, aunque sus galanes sea unos calcos (aunque son unos calcos que puedo leer sin morir en el intento).

Morgan y Adam tienen una dinámica entretenida y, aunque se resistan, dejaron cosas pendientes en el pasado que deberán resolver.
La trama que rodea al asesinato de la amiga de Morgan ha estado bien estructurada, aunque es cierto que la forma de narrarla me ha parecido pobre. Yo hubiera incluido más momentos tensos entre el culpable, el desarrollo de la investigación y los protagonistas principales.
El final era el esperado y aun así me ha gustado igualmente. Ha sido una lectura que he disfrutado, justo cuando necesitaba algo así.

Took me months to get into this one. I figured out whodunit long before it was revealed, so point to me, I guess. Things didn't become interesting until the last maybe 30 pages or so. Overall a predictable, nicely written mystery.

Una historia corta
Se lee muy rápido. Entretiene porque no tiene grandes complicaciones pero te mantiene en vilo queriendo descubrir que pasó. Una chica que lleva 10 años investigando la muerte de su mejor amiga, siente que ahora es su vida la que corre peligro.

Absolutely loved Adam and Morgan's journey through this story. Mercenary with a heart of gold. The fact Adam (Quinn) admitted still loving her after two years apart and telling her it didn't mean he wanted to get back together with her was very realistic to me. The man was hurting. Am I the only who whooped and laughed out loud to Adam's reaction when Morgan first tells him she wants him? Hilarious.
The who-done-it thing was great too. Loved how it played out with Jake (cute), and of course I saw who it was very early on.
The ending could have been better, but I was satified. I still think the wrong person died though (sigh).

The hero and heroine use to date two years ago but he left her. Now he is back because the heroine is in danger, she is trying to solve a ten year old murder of her best friend and in the process was almost killed when her car was pushed off a bridge by another car. The hero will do anything to keep her alive but when all evidence points back to the heroines father who is a senator, things get deadlier!

Knew who the killer was by pg 43. Not much suspense. But I did like Aiden. Morgan seemed immature and uninteresting because she was impulsive and refused to recognize how her dad was using her & was toxic. Why the fuck did she keep going to her own home when dad was controlling & had already send her to an asylum? Why didn't she straight up tell him he was a liar and knew she didn't have any of those problems?

Quinn and Morgan had gone their separate ways after she had to postpone their wedding because of her father, Senator Kerr. After 10 long years and many trying times, Morgan went back to her home town of Autumn to finally find the murderer of her best girlfriend only to find that her father sent Quinn after her to stop her. This quickread was exciting and enjoyable.
