Depending on your personal interests, this friendly guide helps you pick the right sites and make the most of your trip, Like every For Dummies travel guide, Europe For Dummies , 4th Edition helps you make the most of your vacation. It Whether you want to marvel at majestic cathedrals or go on a pub crawl in Dublin, have a 5-star meal in Paris or a picnic lunch amidst the ruins of a Mycenaean city overlooking the Mediterranean, take in museums and castles or hike the Alps, explore the historic (or prehistoric) sites or experience diverse nightlife, with Europe For Dummies, 4th Edition, you’re on your way to a fantastic European holiday.
Pros: - casually written - not too wordy - lots of tips, heads-up, things to avoid, etc - suggests itineraries with different themes (romance, kids, art-lovers, etc)
Cons: - focused on the big cities only, even the overrated ones, (which is only fair as covering the whole Europe in one guidebook is impossible) - slightly neglects the bus option, and more focused on trains. - black-and-white pages only (not a problem to me).
Overall, value for money, and a good overview of Europe.
This book is great ! Lots of tips for the first timers... How to get the best deals, places to sleep, yummy places to eat and of course safety tips as well. It really did take some of the fear out of traveling abroad. I will be reading more of this one on my flight, cause I definitely didn't the chance to finish .
