STAY AND FIGHT OR RUN AND HIDE
His gun went flying and clattered to the ground. Timmer grabbed the man's head in one hand, trying to keep his mouth away from his throat, whilst his other hand groped madly for the gun lying next to them.
One of the crazy man's hands found its way to Timmer's throat and began to squeeze, and Timmer saw the look in his pale and somehow dusty eyes. There was no anger or hate in his eyes, just a kind of vacant emptiness.
Timmer's hand wrapped around the gun just as his lungs began to feel like they would implode from lack of air. He grabbed it and put it against the man's forehead as the world slowly began to fade and lose its color.
Two shots banged out, and Timmer felt the vibration slam up his arm. The man on top of him ceased snarling immediately and fell sideways off of him, revealing a very pale Miah stood with his gun still clasped in both hands...

D. W. Towle is the author of numerous novels, including five novels in the Knight Mysteries Series and one book in The Dead Chronicles series, Outbreak, which has become one of his best selling novels. Towle's novels are published in multiple languages around the world with different version of each copy in print.
The son of a computer repairman and a crossing guard, Towle was raised on good values that taught him to appreciate what he had and not what he wanted which is where he developed a fascination with the mystery and sci-fi genres. These themes eventually formed the backdrop for his books. He is a graduate of Urban Hope Business School and is currently attending Globe University for Business & Marketing, as well as focusing his attention full time to writing.
He is educated in graphic design, website creation, digital cinema and creative writing from Full Sail University and Forensic Science from Fox Valley Technical College. Towle also is a co-founder in two paranormal organizations, WISPR (Wisconsin Society for Paranormal Research) and SPACE (Supernatural Paranormal And Close Encounters.
He is also the founder of one of the original Wizard Rock bands named Cruciatus Curse, as well as a successful composer and lyricist for the band Dark Alley Murder. He is the composer of both the lyrics and music having performed in New York City and other venues.
D. W. Towle grew up in Wisconsin and currently resides in Green Bay with his wife Whitney and their children.
Towle is currently at work on a new book series to be announced soon.
