Masterful

Heard all about the twists and turns from the motion picture....
The written word depiction was no doubt powerful and emotionally gripping

I haven't seen the movie yet but knew generally who was who and what it was about. It made me laugh and cry. Had to pause and wipe away all my tears during Evelyn's final little speech to Joy/Jobu. Fantastic stuff here. Can't wait to watch the movie sometime soon.

There’s a film library so I went through it after the screening and it goes so hard like it’s call me by your name level script (Terrible comparison)

I drew from this as reference for story boarding a different project but OHMYGOSH

It’s pretty good even if you hate the screenplay format.

TO BE CONSIDERATE: The pdf I found was an unrevised draft version of the EEAAO script from December 2017 by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. There's tons of reasons we have first drafts, second drafts, fifth drafts. It's to make the art the best it can be, and that shows in the film's final production.

In this version, we follow Jackie Chan and his wife Winona in a universe in which they're trying to do their taxes. Their adult, married daughter, Joy- has an alter ego (Jobu) from another universe that's trying to kill them. The relationship between father and daughter to me is extremely unexplored- considering that Jobu is the main antagonist (is she really?). The focus, especially at the end- is mainly on Jackie Chan and Winona's failing marriage, and how they're agreeing to try and make it work. This draft obviously lacked a lot of the charm and sincerity of the final film, but that's to be expected.

this the screenplay

This is a copy of the screenplay, so it’s difficult to read. As long as you go in knowing it’s not a book, it’s pretty great.
