I really enjoyed this book. Hoping to apply the method for thinking through trials, to help me confront idols in my own heart and more fully rely on Christ.
This book is a must read for anyone going through difficult, life-changing circumstances. The exercises at the end of each chapter help the reader to dig deeper into their own heart to better understand themselves and how they are responding to what God has allowed to come into their life.
This book brought me on a journey of personnel growth and spiritual discovery. Truth isn't something you learn, but someone you know, and the truth will set you free. It helped me gain a new perspective on the troubles God allowed and continues to allow in my life, have a better understanding of my response to these trials and discover the underlying idols that hamper my efforts to change. It helped me understand the truth of God's word and brought me closer to God in our relationship.
An excellent read for Christians looking to gain wisdom in how to better apply God's word and biblical truth in their daily lives and marriages. Even as a christian counselor intern, I found myself personally convicted multiple times by the very basic biblical truths Vernick applies to her own style of counseling, which her refers to as the TRUTH Principle. I know it will be a great resource as I continue to work in the counseling field.
Really enjoyed the principles of this book and how well it was tied into our lives as Christians. Recommend it highly to those seeking to live a life closer to Christ.
