She is forced to defend a harden criminal which she believes is guilty, and she is deeply disturbed when her father displays a dark side of himself that she had never seen before. Her love life is not any better. After being stood up by a blind date, she has had enough and Cressida finds solace at the bottom of a bottle of rum. Before she can comprehend what is happening to her, she falls off of her barstool into the awaiting arms of Maxwell Martinez.

Maxwell has his hands full dealing with the family business, as well as his family 19s life long spiritual mission to defend humanity against Satan and his legion of insidious demons. When Cressida crosses his path he soon realizes their encounter means so much more. Cressida doesn 19t realize the danger she is in. Her father has offered her soul to Satan. Maxwell will have to act fast to break the contract and open her eyes to the truth, but he has no idea what he is getting himself into.
