Sparks fly in this small town as everyone’s favorite gruff pastry chef finally gives the sweetest guy in town a chance.
CeCe LaRue knows what she wants in life, and in the kitchen, and that’s control. She doesn’t have time for distractions—from her past or present. But that doesn’t mean a certain bright-eyed coworker hasn’t captured her heart.
Evan Lawson is a chronic optimist, and he brings his sunny disposition to everything he does, especially his job at the diner. It’s obvious why he loves his job so much, and it has everything to do with CeCe. He’s been crushing on her for a while, but he’s biding his time. Much like the perfect recipe, love cannot be rushed.
When a major food competition comes to town, Evan is thrilled at the prospect of competing. Despite her stellar culinary skills, CeCe is hesitant to participate. The celebrity chef host is more than a pretty face; he’s the painful past she’s been outrunning for years.
Can CeCe open herself up to the prospect of love and give Evan a chance? Can Evan’s optimism keep them both afloat?

“Much like the perfect recipe, love cannot be rushed.”
Falling For You is another book in the Buckeye Falls book series, book number two in fact. It was right up there with the enchanting, comforting, quick reading, stand alone novels, that are all about Buckeye Falls, and it’s population except this one is concerning all things food. CeCe Larue is career minded, and focused, while Evan Lawson is more a fun loving, patient, happy-go-lucky, optimist, he’s also a little younger than CeCe. Unfortunately with the arrival of the food truck competition it brings the arrival of CeCe’s Ex Eric. Will Cece and Evan be able to conquer these hurdles? Libby’s writing is incredibly descriptive so much so you begin to feel like Buckeye Falls is a real place and her characters seem so real. I think many people will enjoy this sweet, clean, rom-com I know one of the authors to pick up.
CeCe LaRue has her career in hand but is feeling anxious when she finds out her ex is coming to town for a cooking competition. Dealing with the potential nightmare she is intent to ignore Evan Lawson, her co-worker. Evan is sweet, attentive and not a line she wants to cross. CeCe has been burned badly before though and doesn't want the heartache.
Evan has been slowly wooing CeCe even if she didn't realize it. When he decides to put his cards on the table will she give him a chance or hide what she is feeling?
Second in the Buckeye Falls series. I really liked Evan, he has a family dynamic I was very surprised about. I really enjoyed this couple and seeing them go from friends to more. Definitely a series to keep your eyes on.
Buckeye Falls, Ohio is at it again!! Love is floating in the air for this small town, but what will that breeze bring with it? Ginny and Max (from book one) are preparing for their wedding. A bash with their friends and family. While that is very exciting there is something else.... or SOMEONE else coming to town that has everyone a buzz. A major food truck competition with a big time chef (Eric) as a judge is coming to Ohio and it has everyone talking!! Evan is excited with not only the possibility of competing, but maybe finally showing his family is love of cooking!! Max has taught him a lot over the last couple years and he can't wait to show off his skills! CeCe on the other hand, isn't so thrilled about the competition or rather the chef judge who just happens to be her ex-boyfriend! She left him and that town, broken hearted and she wanted nothing else, but to move on. She had to get away from that man!! She likes control and Eric the creep threatens that and more coming back into her life. Man when the universe throws your past into your present things can get messy! Cece and Evan have worked together for a while now and she's starting to think her "no dating someone you work with" rule doesn't have to apply to her bright-eyed coworker. He is a great guy who helps everyone he can and he's not to bad on the eyes either! Can she make it work with a co-worker? Can she open herself up with Evan? Should she even try? Evan knows something is up with CeCe, but she dodges him every time he asks. Unsure of what's wrong he doesn't rush things. He's wanted to date CeCe for some time now, but after the Christmas Jubilee he's just biding his time. Can Evan stand a chance with CeCe? Will the age gap (5 years) between the two be an issue? And man oh man, what about his family?? Will they scare her off before he even gets a chance with her? CeCe and Evan's story is so cute and fun! This can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend just reading the first one too. There are characters from the first book that I personally like having some back story to, when reading this one. These are sweet small-town romances that will have you falling in love with the characters like you are a part of their lives! I can not wait to read book 3!!
Falling For You is the second book in the Buckeye Falls series by @libbykayauthor and tells the story of Cece and Evan. Cece is the pastry chef at Buckeye Falls' diner, fleeing from her previous life in Chicago where she left behind a terrible ex-boyfriend that still manages to add guilt and self-doubt into Cece's life even long after she broke things off with the famous chef. Evan is a 25-year-old struggling to find his own identity in the world when he is caught between pleasing his father with a job in business or pursuing his passion of graphic design and continuing to work with Max and Cece at the diner.
When a cooking competition comes to town, featuring none other than Cece's ex as the celebrity host and judge, tensions start to rise. Wanting to stick it to the man who cost her everything in Chicago, Cece agrees and allows Max and Evan to enter their diner into the competition for a chance to get one of their signature dishes on the menu of the prestigious restaurant Cece used to work for in Chicago. Along the way, Cece and Evan begin to grow closer to one another, unable to fight the growing attraction that has been blooming between them.
There are so many incredibly sweet, tender, and domestic moments in this book between Cece and Evan that made me swoon, especially the pillow forts and movie marathons! I will say I enjoyed the romance aspect of this book more than I did the first book, Falling Home. I also adored how the cast of characters from the first book (notably Ginny and Max) still feature prominently in this book without overshadowing Evan and Cece's love story.
Overall, this was a solid ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ read for me! My one dislike of the book is certain ways that Evan and Cece's five-year age gap is portrayed. (Cece is 30 and Evan is 25.) Evan is constantly telling the other characters that he is mature enough to be with Cece, yet when push comes to shove and they have a disagreement, Evan will sometimes sulk like a child and refuse to talk to Cece or anyone else. As someone who is in a real-life age-gap marriage, I felt as if there were more positive ways to show how their ages make them different. (My husband is 30 and I'm 23.)
When the hottest and sweetest guy in town is crushing on you, what is a girl to do? CeCe is an amazing and grumpy pastry chef at the Buckeye Falls diner. Well loved by the townspeople for her mouthwatering creations. And then there is Evan - sweet, optimistic, full of sunshine and big feelings for CeCe. He is learning the art of cooking with admiration in his heart and love hearts in his eyes. While they are navigating what they are to each other - enter a food truck competition that has CeCe in a state. This competition could mean so much to the diner as a business and CeCe’s hesitation comes from a place of broken hearts, her ex is the famous chef that is running the competition. Will CeCe and Evan find each other through the road blocks that keep popping up?
This was so sweet and heartwarming! The little town is filled with kindness and a dash of small town gossip. This story of CeCe and Evan’s friendship/ relationship is the cutest. The hesitation and the bravery between CeCe and Evan was captured with such heart and soul. I had already fallen in love with Buckeye Falls and its people during the previous book “Falling Home”, this just had me falling harder. I really enjoyed Evan’s relationship with his sister Malory - it really felt like a ride or die! And the “friends family” of the diner staff was uplifting and really embraced the true meaning of family.
Libby Kay is fast becoming a favourite author of mine. I thoroughly enjoyed the writing and most certainly recommend romance readers give their heart to the Buckeye Falls crew! I cannot wait for the next adventure!
Falling For You by Libby Kay is available now in eBook and Physical Book ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐⭐ Book Review
“Much like the perfect recipe, love cannot be rushed.”
Falling For You is the second novel in the Buckeye Falls series. This sweet, small town romance takes place in Buckeye Falls, Ohio. Pastry chef, CeCe LaRue and Evan Lawson work side by side at Max’s Diner. The two of them share a crush that neither wants to admit to the other. When Eric, a celebrity chef, hosts a food competition in town the people are ecstatic. Evan thinks this could be his perfect chance to get closer to CeCe. CeCe worries that this will stir up the past and destroy any chance she has with Evan. Will everyone be able to turn down the heat in the kitchen to overcome the obstacles?
Although Falling For You is part of a series it can be read as a standalone with minimal reference to the characters/plot of the first novel. However, I do HIGHLY recommend reading the first novel, you won’t regret it! I loved the sweet banter between all of the characters. Each one of them stood beside one another during the hardest of times, especially CeCe when meeting Evan’s family. His father was the most awful type of man! For a while I found myself mad at CeCe for not being honest with Evan, but let’s be honest we wouldn’t have the perfect story if she was honest right off the bat. The setting of the diner, the line of work, and food competition was perfect, believable and relatable. All around, I absolutely loved Falling For You. Libby Kay stole my heart once again. I can’t wait to see what Buckeye Falls has in store for us next.
Falling for You: A Buckeye Falls Novel is a delightful addition to the Buckeye Falls book series by the talented Libby Kay. Once again, Kay skillfully transports readers to the enchanting world of this charming small town. This time, we follow the endearing journey of CeCe and Evan, a pair with undeniable chemistry. CeCe, having left her troublesome ex-boyfriend, is on a path to self-discovery, while Evan, her younger co-worker at the local diner, is striving to prove himself in the world. The attraction between them is palpable, but Evan's patience and respect for CeCe's healing process add depth to their connection.
As a devoted fan of this series, I was eagerly awaiting this installment, and it did not disappoint. The sweet and adorable plot, combined with Kay's talent for crafting relatable characters, made this story a heartwarming experience. The age gap between CeCe and Evan is explored with grace and authenticity, creating a genuine and heartfelt narrative. The small-town setting and the tight-knit community of Buckeye Falls add to the book's charm, making you fall for the entire town. Kay's storytelling captures the essence of real-life relationships, and the satisfying resolution for certain characters is a well-deserved triumph. "Falling for You" is a fun and engaging read that seamlessly blends romance, community, and personal growth. I can't help but hope for a third book, perhaps featuring Natalie, to further explore the magic of Buckeye Falls.
CeCe LaRue is familiar with the heat of a kitchen but she's not about to be burned by another man in her life. She's quite content working at Max's Diner in Buckeye Falls. When an opportunity comes up to enter a cooking contest, CeCe is hesitant but interested.
Evan Lawson is that friend that everyone wants to have. Always a smile or hug to share, Evan is a remarkable guy. Is he perfect? No...show me a perfect guy please and I might change my mind. Evan is finding an attraction to CeCe though as they work side by side at the diner everyday. He's actually been crushing on CeCe for quite some time and when the cooking competition comes up he's hoping it's a chance to get even closer to her.
A past flame in CeCe's life could scorch any hopes of this relationship ever going anywhere if things don't change fast!
I loved this second book in this series. I did read the first one as well and equally loved it. This can be read as a stand alone. I really enjoy the style of writing in this series and the stories come to life before you as you read. I found myself tearing up and angry and then the next minute I was fist pumping and hollering for a victory! I'm excited about the next book but was a bit surprised as to the characters in the next one!! I was just sure it would be someone else featured but hopefully their story is coming soon too!
This is the 2nd book in the Buckeye Falls Series. These books can be read as a standalone without it deterring enjoyment of the story. The author does an amazing job with her characters making them realistic and easy to relate to. Cece is a strong independent woman who has had a tough time in the past. She had her heart broke and almost lost her career so as a consequence she's built a wall around her to keep people away and her heart safe. Evan is wonderful. I completely fell in love with his character. He is a bit younger than Cece but he knows she is everything he wants. He just needs to get her to see him in a romantic way and not as some young guy with a crush. He's aware she has walls around her and will stop at nothing to bring them down. Add to this a competition that is being judged by the one person that caused Cece heartbreak and almost destroyed her and the romance between Cece and Evan takes another knock. Can they overcome all the obscales against them? Can Cece let down her walls and allow Evan in? Together can they face Cece's past and come away winner's or will the past haunt Cece and still have a hold on her? This was a great read, this book will make you laugh out loud and at times feel like tearing your hair out but one things for sure Cece and Evan are two characters that remain with you long after you finish the book.
An enjoyable and engaging sweet romance set in the wonderful small town, Buckeye Falls, Ohio. It can be read as a standalone story, however, having read and enjoyed the previous book in the series, I was looking forward to this one and I was not disappointed. The setting of Buckeye Falls was again brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative, and you really get that small town, everyone knows everyone feeling. CeCe LaRue is focused on her job as a pastry chef, and likes having control in the kitchen. She definitely doesn’t have time for distractions, especially not her sweet, coworker, Evan Lawson. Evan is a chronic optimist, and has a sunny disposition which he brings to his job at the diner. Evan loves his job, but also has a long term crush on CeCe, but he’s been biding his time realising that love can’t be rushed. However, when a face from CeCe’s past turns up in town, as the celebrity chef host of a major food competition, Evan worries he may have left it too late. CeCe was hesitant to enter the competition despite her culinary skills, but when she comes face to face with the celebrity chef she has to confront her painful past. I was fully immersed in the storyline, and loved the main characters and the chemistry between CeCe and Evan. I was cheering them on, hoping they would get their HEA.
Super sweet, clean romance about getting over your ex and finding the one you were always meant to be with. Every character is realistic and relatable. Not everything is as it seems in the idyllic town of Buckeye Falls but the people are true and loyal.
After a traumatic experience, CeCe has moved on in her life and found a spot where she fits and where she can find happiness. And, she is really doing it. CeCe has a job she adores. True friends she never expected. Then there is the soon-to-be-possible romance with Evan. Everything is going good and it appears like she has finally moved on until a new food truck competition is announced. The judge being the one person she never wants to see again.
Evan is figuring it out. He loves the freelance web design he is doing. He loves working at the diner and learning to cook. Most of all, he loves CeCe. Just as he is finally convincing her to give them a chance, obstacles get thrown in their path. Can Evan be the grown-up he says he is?
I laughed. I awwed. I enjoyed. I yelled at Evan. I cheered when Eric went down. He deserved what he got and sooooooo much more. This was my first stop in Buckeye Falls. It was pleasant and I had a great time. The next time I am in the mood for a sweet and clean romcom, I know where to visit.
I love Evan and Cece's story. They're my favorite couple in this series. Evan is a very sweet guy, i can feel my heart melting from the way he cares for CeCe. People might see him as a shy guy in real life but the truth is, Evan is a biggest flirt! he never trying to hide his feeling. Whenever he saw CeCe he was like "here take my heart, i'll buy a time just to be with you! " I felt for his character ( it's suck when people still think of you as a kid )
And now we have CeCe with her "what did i miss?" moment. She's a good listener and easy going. But sometimes CeCe care too much about people around her and forget about herself, she's stuborn as a stone but she have a reason behind it all. However i still want my girl to be more upen to Evan and rely to him even though i know she's not that kind of woman.
When i first reading this book I was hesitant because I felt their relationship would be awkward, there are some part where I feel like their relationship is trapped in the brother and sister zone and fortunately it saved by that pilow war scenen🤭 their first intimacy and chemistry could cover all the awkward things between them. 4.5/5 ⭐
This is the second book of the buckeye falls series.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntary.
This is the second book in the Buckeye Falls Series and it was just as good as the first one! After reading the first book I was definitely intrigued by the chemistry between Cece and Evan so I was stoked to find out about this book. This book follows Evan, a few years younger than Cece, try to prove that he is worth dating and not the kid everyone treats him like. This was a nice age gap in the sense that it was not creepy and both partners discussed the way it made them feel…eventually. I think it was about 5 years and he is in his mid 20s so her turning 30 that year was not too much of a gap for it to be gross. Evan was a sweet little golden retriever and Cece was fierce and i loved it. I adored the small town setting and diner vibes. The tight knit community in Buckeye Falls is really charming in this book. I am falling for the entire town. This book is fun and light and falling for these characters was so easy. I liked the setting and the communication that went on between the two. It was pretty realistic i think to how this would play out in real life and I am glad Eric got what he deserved and Dale had his behind handed to him too. Yay for men being put in their place! I hope if there is a third book it is about Natalie.
2.5⭐ 🧑🍳🥧The pillow fight is cute but weren't they arguing?
🧑🍳🥧"I'm sorry you deserve the truth" thn continues not telling him the truth.🤷♀️
🧑🍳🥧Cece is kinda pissing me off.
🧑🍳🥧Honestly I don't see any reason for her to enter the competition. They're not struggling. It's like contacting my stalker. And why would she think the competition will be fair towards her where her ex is involved. It's not fair to everyone else on the team as well.
🧑🍳🥧You know what's worse? Evan is asking what's wrong again and again to Cece? Every chapter, every para. And she keeps avoiding it. It's like she took Evan for granted.
🧑🍳🥧Their spark is fading. I don't see them together anymore. I agree Evan deserves more. And that means whatever he wants ig. I'm just not feeling the romance anymore.
🧑🍳🥧"Should they compete and show Eric what she could do without him? Or should she pack up and go after the man she loved?" Idk why she didn't go after Evan after THIS.
🧑🍳🥧I don't think Evan owes her any groveling. But they seriously need an open conversation. Especially on Cece's side.
🧑🍳🥧Cece is an expert on making a scene.
🧑🍳🥧Ehh she wasn't hiding the truth because she was protecting Evan, she was just plain old scared. Did I miss something?

Falling for You was the perfect book 2 in this series. Yes I say series, however it works perfectly fine as a standalone novel. This author knows how to hook the audience reading this particular genre. And that makes me a huge fan! CeCe is an independently strong woman who has survived a lot of adversity in life. Especially that of her ex-boyfriend who tried to destroy her life and career because she left him. Why’d she’d leave him? Well that’s an answer you’re going to have to read to find out. Evan sees CeCe and she’s everything he wants. But at the same time he knows it won’t be easy. The walls she’s erected to protect herself and her heart are almost impenetrable, like i said almost. As he gradually chips away he realizes he doesn’t want to let go. But how does she feel about that? So many questions and so few answers. Well maybe if you check this book out you will get all the answers. The character growth was written beautifully, especially for CeCe. Watching it unfold made me happy. When an author writes a strong female character, I will always be on board! Now it’s time for book 3! I need more… lol
Falling for You is book 2 to this series, and I absolutely adored CeCe and Evan's story at Buckeye Falls. I would recommend also reading book 1 first as characters in the book also are in this story as well and ties in so wonderfully. If you love a sweet romance, small town setting with food, friends, love and a little bit of drama, I would highly recommend this series.
CeCe is all business when it comes working at the diner, she does not have time for relationships and has a rule of no dating coworkers. Evan tries to be patient, sitting back, biding his time as he also work at the diner with CeCe, but he cannot help fall for her the more he works with her. CeCe decides to give Evan a chance, dinners, movies and easy conversation flow between them. When an opportunity comes close to Buckeye Fall for a food competition, CeCe and Evan want to enter, but CeCe is hiding a secret. Will this secret come between CeCe and Evan or will they find love while trying to navigate work, the food competition and Evan's meddling parents.
This is such a fantastic story. I loved every page....and I was so happy to see there is a book 3 coming!!!
Having read Falling Home I couldn’t wait to catch up with Max and Ginny and their wedding planning but I was even more curious as to CeCe and her “ secret” and of course the budding relationship between her and Evan 🫶🏼
It’s competition time in …….. and our little diner team can win this hands down ! Finally we get a little more insight into CeeCee and her reservations about Evan but she can’t resist him and his charms I mean hello the guy is as real as they can get and any girl would thank her lucky stars to catch a gem like him ❣️
Evan really comes from a rather nasty family and my heart broke for him but also burst with pride because he’s such a good soul and it could’ve been easy to be bitter but instead he goes for what he wants and does himself proud 🥰
The source of CeeCee’s anxiety gets what he deserves and I did a little happy jig ! There was so much to love about this book and the people just climb into you heart and you get so invested in them and their stories 🥰 that’s my favourite part of being a bibliophile, all the friends I make along the journey between the pages ❣️📚
I loved reading another book set in the small town of Buckeye Falls. This is the second book in the series, but it follows different characters and starts up right after the first book. The characters from the first book are all scattered throughout so that we can keep an eye on Max, Ginny, Harold, Natalie, and Anthony. In this book, we get to know Cece and Evan who work with Max at the diner. Cece is pretty closed off in the first book and we get to learn more about her past and what brought her to the small town. Why she has a fancy degree but loves the diner, why she doesn’t want to date coworkers, and why a big celebrity chef coming to town throws her into a panic. We also get to know Evan and why he decided not to follow in his dad’s footsteps as a big web developer but instead settled in Buckeye Falls. This is a fun, quick, clean romance book and I was excited to see that a third book is coming and will follow Natalie. I hope more come too because I’d love to get to know Evan’s sister, Mallory, more!
Falling For You: A Buckeye Falls Novel is the second book in this small-town romance series. This can be read as a standalone story, but better enjoyed after reading the first book in the series. In this book, CeCe knows what she wants in life and work. She loves working in the kitchen and creating new dishes at the diner. Evan works with CeCe and loves his job (even more because CeCe is there). Will he be able to break down the walls CeCe has put up? I enjoyed CeCe in the first book and was glad to see the focus on her this time. This allows us to discover more about her past and why she has built walls to keep herself from being drawn into a romance. Evan is adorable in his crushing on CeCe. He is a complete optimist and does not let anything get him down. Together the two make a cute romance that is hard to put down. I have been rooting for Evan since the last book, and again glad to see this story play out. I look forward to reading more from this author soon. She has a knack for small-town romances.
Falling for You is the second book in the Buckeye Falls series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone if you don’t mind getting a few spoilers for Falling Home! It follows CeCe and Evan who have both ended up working at the same diner. They have feelings for each other, but CeCe has a rule against dating coworkers. This is an enjoyable book for anyone who enjoys a culinary romance! Evan is such a sweet character - I love all the things he does to stay close with his sisters, who are themselves great characters, particularly Mallory! It’s also an uplifting story, with CeCe learning to face the past she has been running from and overcome the pain she still carries. It’s great seeing how her community are there for her when things are tough. This book gets five stars from me! A great comfort read. I would recommend keeping snacks in reach as the descriptions of food in this will definitely make you hungry…
Falling for You was such a cute book. I loved it more than Falling Home, the first book in the Buckeye Falls series, which is saying a lot. This series gives me a Gilmore Girls feel- the small town, where everyone knows everyone. I have CeCe envisioned like Sookie- the amazing chef that is a little quirky but everyone loves. Evan is a few years younger, and landed in Buckeye Falls a couple years ago, and has has a crush on CeCe ever sense. He finally makes his feelings known, and hopes the feelings are reciprocated. CeCe carries a bit of baggage from her previous relationship, which she has hidden well... That is until said ex, brings a cooking competition to Buckeye Falls. Things heat up in the kitchen, and outside... and I loved it. I hardly put this book down, I love all the characters, and Evan is wonderful. I am glad the previous characters from book 1 continued to make appearances throughout. Please let there be more to come!!
An absolutely sweet small town romance. This is the second book in the series and can be read as a stand alone. It follows CeCe and Evan with sprinkles of the book one cast scattered in the story. The characters are easy to connect with as their stories unfold. It leaves you wanting to know more with each turn of the page. One cannot help but to root for the main characters throughout the story. A very enjoyable read, so much so that I devoured it in one day.
CeCe is wants control both in her life and in the kitchen. She has no room for distractions, even if a coworker has captured her attention. Evan works with CeCe at the restaurant. He has had a crush on her from day one but he isn't making the move yet. Love cannot be rushed after all. The past that broke CeCe rolls into town hosting a major food competition. Even wants to compete with CeCe, but is she ready to move on from the past? Is Evan enough sunshine and optimism that they pull through?
Falling for You (Buckeye Falls Book 2) by Libby Kay. This is such a fun series and I was super excited it was the story of CeCe and Evan. These books can be read as standalone's but I enjoy them much more when I read them in order. Evan is sunshine in human form, always looking on the bright side and just being a nice guy. He brings smiles to all the people in the diner where he works. CeCe is a pastry chef and has been thru a very bad relationship so she has signed off on them. No more just work is her motto. Evan is determined to get CeCe see him for the man he is not the kid she sees. There is a slight age difference of 5 years but Evan doesn't see the problem. When a famous Chef comes into town to hold a Food Competition in their town everyone is excited. Just when Evan is breaking down CeCe's walls a person from her past comes crashing in. Will she finally realize Evan is not the enemy and that she can count on him to be her person? Read this fast paced romance to find out!
Falling For You is the second book in the Buckeye Falls series by this author. CeCe LaRue is a chef at the local diner. Evan Lawson is a waiter at the same diner. The two are good friends, but they think it could be something more. This book explores the challenges couples face when trying to launch friendship into relationship status. I read the first Buckeye Falls book, but I feel this one could stand on its own. The romance scenes are sweet and sensual, with enough description to make you understand what happens but also leaving some room for the reader’s imagination. I love the characters in this story! Max is the best boss ever. Ginny is kind and thoughtful. Natalie is fun and exciting. CeCe is guarded with her emotions, but is an amazing chef. Even has the personality that could make him the perfect catch. I was excited to read their latest adventures. This book didn’t disappoint. I couldn’t put it down! I definitely recommend this one.
Take a trip (or two) to Buckeye Falls where you will meet CeCe and Evan, the main characters. CeCe is a grumpy and cynical pastry chef who bakes her heart out. She does not need a man to distract her from her love of baking. Plus it is safer and less likely for her to get hurt again if she only loves baking…. Right? Then there is Evan, he is her polar opposite, he is loving and filled to the brim with optimism. He is trying to woo CeCe, but will he be able to succeed? Will she let him in and give love a chance?
While Falling for You is the second book in the Buckeye Falls series, each book can be read as stand alone books. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, Falling Home! I adored this second book. Libby Kay has a fantastic lawyer of bringing her characters, the story, and the community to life. Reading both Buckeye Falls books was like seeing a movie in my mind as I read each book.
This is the 2nd book I've read by this author and the 2nd Buckeye Falls book I've read. I thought book 1 deserved to be a Hallmark movie and I think book 3 should be as well. I loved reading the story and I would love to watch them come to life on TV. Falling for you is such a sweet love story. I absolutely love the friendship that Cece & Even have. I love how they have this connection between them even before they make things official. I see how age can sometimes be an issue. I like how Even decides to show how manly he is even though he's younger but ends up throwing a little tantrum. It's such a guy thing to do. Lol It made me giggle because I know guys who've acted like this and I pictured the whole thing. I loved being able to "see" the characters reappear from book 1 in book 2. Even though the stories are connected you could read them as stand alone. Overall great story, great characters, I really enjoyed it all.
CeCe knows what she wants from her life, and her kitchen is her life and the place she has control, and nothing and no distractions is allowed. And she n33ds that control, what with having a tough time in the past. And Evan Lawson, is the biggest distraction that she just can’t afford. She won’t give control over to someone else…
Evan Lawson is sweet, sunshine and he has his eye on the grumpy chef. But how he will get CeCe to lower those walls around her, he needs her to see him as more than a guy with a crush, as his planning on forever.
I fell in love with Evan more than CeCe… he was just such a freaking sweet and amazing guy that you can’t help falling in love with him. Poor Evan had so many obstacles to overcome before he could make CeCe his woman. You could understand why it was so hard for CeCe to let her walls down, but little by little Evan won her Ober. Loved the small town vibe and loved the characters.
Falling for You (Buckeye Falls Book 2) by Libby Kay is a great sweet romance
CeCe LaRue is clear about what she wants—control—both in life and in the kitchen. She has no time for diversion, whether it is from the past or the present. However, it doesn't mean she hasn't fallen in love with a particular bright-eyed coworker.Being a chronic optimist, Evan Lawson approaches everything with a positive attitude, even his work at the cafe. It's clear why he enjoys his work so much, and CeCe is the main reason. Though he's waiting it out, he's had a crush on her for a while. Love is like the ideal recipe—it can't be rushed.
Every page had you hanging on every sentence and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a very unique story with even compelling people. The story really transports you into this world. I couldn’t put the book down.I can’t wait to read more from this series.
I finished the Buckeye Falls Book #1 (Falling Home) and immediately had to pick up Falling For You. After just minimally getting to know Cece and Evan in Book 1, I was thrilled that Libby Kay decided to pursue their storyline next. This book felt like a cross between another Hallmark Movie and a movie about a Cooking Show Competition. I think so many people will be able to relate to both Cece and Evan's backgrounds- Evan is a younger man (barely) and the stigma around that bothers Cece. Cece also has a dating background she's desperate to avoid talking about, but is one that many women unfortunately experience as well. Evan has a degree and potential job opportunities, but doesn't want to pursue the corporate lifestyle his domineering father demands of him, and treats him poorly because of. Ms. Kay does a fantastic job of making the characters feel like family, and has you rooting for their love story and to stand up to horrible people in their lives!
Falling for You: A Buckeye Falls Novel by Libby Kay is the second book of four. This book follows CeCe and Evan. CeCe has a love for all things cooking. But when she left her creep of an Ex she had to escape and find a new start. She found that start at The Diner in Buckeye Falls. Evan is young and is giving Golden Retriever energy. They have an obvious attraction for one another. But CeCe keeps Evan at arm’s length after her messy relationship at her previous job. But when a major food competition comes to town, Evan can’t wait to compete. However, the Celebrity Chef who happens to be CeCe’s Ex has her less then thrilled about the idea. Will she keep trying to outrun her past or will she finally move forward and give Evan a chance? This story is another charming installment in this cozy series. They can be read as standalone but I do love seeing the overlapping couples in this series. 4 out of 5 Stars.
