I enjoyed this book very much. It is fast paced, enjoyable, funny and full of interesting tropes. It makes fun of worldly events and things that are going on today. This is a prequel to the authors other series which I enjoyed immensely terminate the other world, I read that series and then went back to read this one. I will continue with the next book.
A lot of this book is fluff and nonsense, delightfully so. Then the author (or main character) seemed to realize that wielding that kind of power and making those kinds of decisions was actually serious and things get a bit heavier. It's too serious to be just lighthearted and too silly/flippant to be properly serious. It's an odd blend. I liked the early silliness, but the serious elements kind of sucked the fun out of it for me.
Very episodic and lacking a cohesive storyline. Individual parts are fun, but the whole of it gets boring. This is a fun idea that needs better execution.
