Billionaire Livingston Rhodes hasn't been able to let go of the memory of his one night stand months ago, even if her face is a blur. Surrounded by scandal involving his younger brother, he brings in a forensic accountant to help uncover the truth. Despite his own attraction, he is determined to keep his eye on the ball.

Daisy Wentz is in New Orleans for work, the last thing she expected was to run into the man she had a steamy night with in Seattle. The night had been unforgettable…to her, he on the other hand, looks her straight in the eye and doesn't remember her. At all.
What is going to happen when she accomplishes what she was called there for, especially once he realizes, his attraction to her, isn't brand new, but because he does know her? Will they have a second chance at a happily ever after?

This is sloppy writing from beginning to end and that is the problem these days with everyone thinking they can write & publish something when they don’t have the experience or know-how to do so.

I know I’m being harsh here but not everyone is an ARC reader who gets things for free. Some of us actually pay for our books and as such, we except to get our money’s worth. With this one I don’t understand why it ever went to print in the first place. Besides the misspelling & grammar, the plot execution or lack thereof, was a mess.

First of, 2nd chance & enemies to lovers/slow-burn romances are really tricky tropes that can be difficult for authors to pace; sometimes characters fall in love too fast and other times too slow or not at all as I don’t equate sex/lust as love. In this book, the pacing erred on the side of being too fast and was more than a bit jarring because a lot of what makes a story & the characters themselves was left out. The transition from H & h falling in love with each other or going from business associates to friends/lovers seemed like it could have been more gradual but instead it was as if author was trying to meet a word count or something and wrap it up and left all that out which boggles the mind why it is then labeled as a "Romance".

I wish people who write these things would consider the folks who take the time to read their work. If you publish something then make sure you deliver because this was anything but a “fictional romance” – or anything to read about. In all honesty, if I was the author of this book, I would be embarrassed to print something like this for the world to view & read – never mind for an accomplished “USA Bestselling author” which is a joke BTW.

So here is what you need to know if you want to read this:

- Hero & heroine had a ONS months prior but in the present we have Hero not remembering heroine when she comes to work for him. He is constantly thinking and saying he can’t forget his ONS but doesn’t remember her face, voice, etc. Why not? Did he have sex with her in the dark and never heard her voice? Nope. At least it wasn't mentioned. Was he in an accident and got amnesia? Nope. Did she change her appearance or something? Nope. It was just a few short months - not years for Pete's sake so for a ONS that he was supposedly obsessing about and couldn't forget because it was that memorable to him, you would think he would at least remember her face, right? Lol.

It wasn’t until more than half way through that he sees a Tattoo on her butt that he puts two & two together and realizes she is his ONS. Lovely because he remembers her butt & tattoo but not her face? How romantic. Lol.

- We don’t ever get a description of what heroine looks like or his POV to explain what is was about her that attracts him to her (if indeed he was). He himself questions what it is about her that pulls him to her.
There was a brief reference to her “dark lovely skin” though nothing else. Not what color her eyes are or hair color, etc. There is a lot of references to what she was wearing and her butt but you would think that for a writer to establish any type of relationship/chemistry with the characters, we would have some POVs and descriptions to let us know what the characters are thinking & feeling for one another.
- The ending was the lamest I ever read with one ILY exchange on the last paragraph but no POVs that either even liked each other, much less loved one another, so the ILY in the end came out of left field. They certainly didn't have any deep conversations to get to know each other. And the mystery of what happened to his brothers, father and the money that was stolen was just left open ended and forgotten. It’s more of a HFN but at that point it was more like “Thank Gawd it was over”.

It pains me to leave this review

Aliyah Burke is one of my favorite authors. I loved the Megalodon Team series and read them all several times. I've also read a lot of her other earlier work, which is why I can't believe she wrote this. She's usually the type of author who writes such engrossing stories that you feel bereft once you finish the book. Like you've lost a family member or best friend. Not with this story though. If anything, you'll walk away feeling like you missed something. Like someone told a joke with no punchline. What happened to character development? What happened to romance? Emotional connection?

Livingston and Daisy overcame nothing. And learned nothing about each other. I don't know how they decided they loved each other at all. I felt like I must have skipped some pages or something. This HEA was completely unearned. The story and characters had great potential, but missed the mark by several thousand miles. I have no interest in reading the rest of this series because I don't want to read two more incomplete stories.

Seems incomplete

Mediocre storyline but it leaves too many unanswered questions. Plus, the story abruptly ends. This is a seasoned author, her earlier books were really good. However, this book reads as if an inexperienced author wrote the story. I was disappointed in this book.

Cute

Cute, but unfinished. You skipped a lot of good stuff. You did put the intimate detail in the book, long and drawn out. I already knew when the other Rhodes was missing, he would be with the other sister. I guess the Hastings will be with the other one. This one was cute and interesting. Read it you will be a tad bit disappointed but a good read.

book

It was an ok read however; it left the reader with a lot of questions ie what happened with the father, did they get married, I know finding out about the other brother is in the next book, this book was ending it on a cliffhanger.

Excellent book!!!

I KNEW this was going to be an amazing book! After reading the synopsis I had to buy this book. And I'm sooo glad I did.
Livingston needed help too find out who was framing his brother Bradford for embezzling money from his casino. In comes Daisy Wentz. Daisy took on this case as a favor to a friend Gareth. Unbeknownst to her, she shares a past or rather a unforgettable NIGHT with Livingston. Except Livingston doesn't remember her.
This book was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 from beginning to the delicious ending. The sexual tension, drama, sarcastic barbs that took place between Livingston and Daisy had me in a rainbow of emotions. I couldn't wait for when Livingston finally figured out who Daisy was. And let me tell you! Nope! No spoilers!
And can we talk about that evil sperm donor of a father? Smdh. Some people shouldn't be allowed to procreate. I loved how Livingston stood up to his sperm donor. He deserves what's coming to him. The supporting characters, especially the sisters husbands? Lawd you want to talk about BDE? Wheeweeee Chile! Yes. This book was most definitely worth ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed. And with the except for book 2 included about Bradford and Iris you know where I'm headed. Ok. Aliyah Burke. You got yourself a new fan. 🥰🥰🥰

Book one of 𝔹𝕚𝕝𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕒𝕚𝕣𝕖 𝔹𝕣𝕠𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕤 series is a one-stand romance. Someone is taking money from Livingston Rhodes. He was seeking answers yesterday, as all roads lead to his brother, Bradford. Daisy Wentz had no idea she would be walking into the office of the man who gave her an unforgettable night. Livingston remembers the night, but the problem is that he doesn't remember who it was, the woman he named Peach.

While I found the story to be solid, there were some errors, but they did not disrupt the overall flow of the story. The crossover characters from the 𝐹𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑦 𝐹𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑟 series were enjoyable to me. I am curious about how Xandra determined the connection. The author revealed it, but it was purely speculation from my perspective.

Enjoyed it

Amazing how things come full circle. They both indulged and never forgot that absolute need to be together. By design the two are brought back together to solve the mystery of embezzlement. She had not a care about his money and where he cam from. The gingerbread house scene was so special. Loved that the male friends took him to task for Peaches being hurt by his jackass of a sperm donor.
Wish they would have finished his ass and gotten married. This ended abruptly for me even as a series. I will read Brandon's story and see if these two pop up again.

Good story

I enjoyed the characters and the story line. I was a little lost with the reference to past characters from other books who were clearly connected her and felt I should have had a different start point. However, the story itself did standalone as the focus was primarily on the two characters in this book and laid foundation for the characters in the upcoming books in the series. I'm definitely reading the rest of the series and going back to read about the others from the previous series.

There's something about Aliyah's books that I just can't get enough of. They are quick romances with a lot of steam. I devoured her previous Family Forever series, so imagine my suprise that the Billionaire Brothers series continues with the family. Yes!! In Saving Rhodes, we meet Livingston and Daisy. Walking into Livingston's office months after their one night stand is one thing, but realizing that he does not remember her is another. It sets a fire under Daisy. She's determined to finish her job and get as far away from him as possible. However, Livingston has other plans once he realizes that Daisy is the woman who haunts his dreams.

I throughly enjoyed Saving Rhodes. I didn't know going in that it is from the same world as Burke's previous series and that 100% made my day. The only thing that made me pause was that Livingston didn't recognize Daisy. For someone who has been constantly reliving their one night together, that was a little weird. Other than that, this was another super quick and steamy romance from Aliyah.

I received an advance copy. All opinions are my own.
