An Opposites Attract, Small-Town, Grumpy Sunshine, Age Gap Romance.
I can’t stand her, but my dog f***ng loves her.
I need a break from Manhattan. My carefree, serial-dating life has been seriously cramped by my family and past catching up with me. I’ve taken a “temporary” vacation until I realize my money’s been drained from my bank account and I’m stuck in an archaic small-town. One night, snowed in, I’m forced to lodge with the local café-owning, dog-loving, ridiculously handsome lumberjack, Eric Dawson. Did I mention how grumpy he is?
Cassidy Carrington’s a brat. A bubbly, sing-song, cheerful, tiring brat. The type I like least. Her positive “everything’s going to be okay” personality is damn annoying. It’s armor that tells me she’s hiding something. I’ve yet to figure out what kind of trouble she’s in and the chaos she might’ve brought to town. She’s not my problem but I can tell she’s scared. And even worse… my dog f**king loves her.

Snowed in. Small town. Grumpy lumberjack who hates everyone… except his dog—and unfortunately, his dog loves her 🐾🔥 This book had everything I love—grumpy x sunshine, forced proximity, and that slow, reluctant fall that neither of them wants to admit. Eric and Cassidy are complete opposites, and the banter? Sharp, funny, and full of tension. But beneath all the teasing and irritation, there’s something softer—two people carrying more than they show, slowly letting their walls slip. And those quiet, intimate moments? They hit. I just wish the emotional backstories were explored a bit deeper toward the end, but overall this was cozy, intense, and ridiculously addictive.
This may be my favorite one of the bunch. I could read a whole other book with Cassidy and Eric. Their chemistry is absolutely out of this world, and not to mention they're absolutely adorable together.
I loved their back stories, and there was an edge of almost romantic suspense with the looming secrets of Cassidy's past.
The tension, drama, and banter in this book were so great and I really hope that we see more of these characters in the future.
I love a good romance but there has to be some meat to the characters. Not sure where to start but below some of the things that just didn’t do it for me: The FMC is supposedly 26 but behaves like a teenager... I mostly found her annoying The MMC finally gives in to his feelings and at the first hurdle, turns on her and leaves her to the man she was running from and who is clearly evil, abusive and all-round a nasty piece of work FMC’s parents are clearly forcing her into something that she doesn’t want despite her pleas that the guy they’re forcing her to marry is nasty and she’d be miserable… supposedly as her duty to the family… yet she still believes they “love her” … wtf?! There’s more, but you get the gist..I guess this author is not for me..
Light the candles, cuddle up and enjoy this good time read. ✨
After I was finished with the book I wanted drive into a small town and get snowed in. ❄️ The mix of the sweet sunshine from the big city and the grumpy lumberjack with the cute dog hit me hard. Both characters struggle to overcome there past whilst living in the now. (Please be aware that it is a age gap romance) While the main characters are the highlight of the book (for obvious reasons) the others soften the storyline in the perfect way.
So if you are looking for a easy, cozy, winter romance this might be the right fit for you. (I hope you‘ve got a fireplace, because I was seriously missing out) 😉🔥
This is the third book in this awesome trilogy, and this is Cassidy and Eric’s story. Cassidy needs a break from Manhatton, and takes a temporary vacation, where she ends up in a small town for 1-night, and ends up stranded and snowed in. Eric is a grumpy café owner, dog lover, and lumberjack, and Cassidy is forced to lodge with him. This is a well written easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, tension, grumpy / sunshine, opposites attract, forced proximity, an age gap, romance, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and endearing, small town romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
When Cassidy Carrington goes to get away for a bit she finds her funds frozen while headed straight for a snowstorm. Now stranded in a small cafe the owner, Eric Dawson, reluctantly lets her find shelter in his cabin. His dog seems to approve too! Can the pretty new Yorker city girl and grumpy small town guy keep to themselves snowed in? Why is what happened to have Cassidy leaving home so suddenly? This is a sweet, strangers to lovers romance with a twist that can be ready pretty fast. Told in first person and dual POV.
Eric and Cassidy were filled with friction and snark. But the attraction was there from the start.
Cassidy is running from trouble after her back account was drained, coming to a small town and meets Eric who recognises her too bright personality is in trouble.
They don't like each other at first. Cassidy is annoying him, too bright and covering something. But he is reluctant to get involved until he had to.
So well done, a great story and the characters and banter was fun. Great book!
I love forced proximity situations. This book is a fun one. A little sweet and spicy and snarky. A good ending to this series. The chemistry that Eric and Cassidy shared was enough to melt the snow.
Eric and Cassidy were giving me grumpy/sunshine. There was tension in the beginning but as the days passed and Eric slowly came around to Cassidy, the banter came out as well as the spice. Their first kiss was really good.
This book was a fast read for me. If you are looking for your next read, check out this book.
This is the 3rd book in this series/trilogy and is Cassidy and Eric's turn.
Cassidy has gone on a small getaway after needing a break and finds herself stranded in a small town thanks to snow staying with a brooding cafe owner Eric. I do love and opposites attract trope, its a guily pleasure and this one was a page turning one.
The tension and chemistry in this one was enticing and the back story's and drama made this one not to miss.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author and this is my honest opinion
4.5 stars That was a rollercoaster of emotions. Who hasn’t dreamt of finding a connection with someone else, the way Eric and Cassidy did? The hot and heavy, but also the quiet and intimate moments… as weird as it may sound, as I read along I felt like I could see their connection growing and their love for one another taking over every aspect of their lives. It was raw and complicated. But also very beautiful to read about.
Age gap romances are wonderful and this one is awesome. Cassidy is stranded in a snow storm with no money,Eric who owns the cafe in the small town that Cassidy is stranded in lets her find shelter in his cabin reluctantly. They don’t like each other when they meet but Eric’s dog loves her. She running from something and needs help. This is a sweet cozy read and a wonderful ending to this trilogy ❤️🖤
This was my favorite out of the series. I LOVEDDDD this. i love a good rom-com forced proximity, one bed, grumpy lumberjack type book. it's an age gap but they seriously work so well together. i've loved Cass in the other two books so i was so excited when we got hers and this is who she ended up with. the tension was incredible and of course there was her big secret but seriously was so good. def need more like this.
This is a great read. I loved the storyline, it has great characters plenty of steam romance and drama. It was easy to get into and read, I was hooked from the start and plan to read more by this new to me writer
This is a sweet, strangers to lovers romance. It’s a fast-paced, high-heat, and heartfelt romance that I couldn't put down.I loved their back stories, and there was an edge of almost romantic suspense with the looming secrets of Cassidy's past.
This series has tension, banter, drama and crazy chemistry between the main characters. And I like that the author completed this trilogy with this couples story. This was a quick read and really had me feeling all the emotions. This was another great book in the New York Nights series.
I really enjoyed reading Eric and Cassidys' love story!! They are definitely my favourite couple so far 😇😇 Well written and fast-paced, I just couldn't put it down.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely loved Cassidy's story, her and Eric were so sweet and hot 😉 This was definitely my favourite couple in this series, I do love me some grumpy/sunshine and forced proximity.
Yes! My favourite in the series! Love me some Grumpy/Sunshine, forced proximity mixed with great banter and high chemistry 🔥 What more could a romance loving human want? Loved every second.
