Mirabai was a mystic poet and one of the most famous devotees of Krishna. There are many legends regarding Mirabai’s devotion to Krishna. There are many devotional hymns of Krishna attributed to Mirabai.

The story of this poet who lived in the 16th century is not something to be missed, and this book will let young readers know more about her.

Ah...I love the art in this one.
And the story, it brings me to tears every time. Its not a tragedy rather it is a Divine love story...
a story that lives on through Mira's mellifluous songs which are sung even now along the length and breadth of India, a legacy that has survived time, the story of the love of a Rajput princess and her charming God, Lord Gopal.
Amar Chitra Katha narrates the story of this mystic poetess in a simple and lucid style.
The whole tale from the time her mother tells little Mira that her Lord is Gopal to her marriage to the Rana and her subsequent travails(each of which her Gopal helps her overcome), to her final merger with the Divine is dealt with touching care and detail. Also, this was one of my first ACK comics. ACK taught the young generation of India, the glorious culture and valour of our country's past. It took the place of the storyteller in my childhood.

Ah... mere to giridhara gopal dusro na koi ... one of my favourite songs was her composition.

Basic but splendid! It is for once, not the tale, the artistry but herself that impresses and inspires!

Beloved Giridhar Gopal, I belong to You

First of all, I can't express my feelings in words about Beloved Giridhar Gopal. I have been in love ever since I was a kid and this wonderful book fueled my devotional sentiments towards the Lord. I remember how fondly I used to read this book as a child and shed tears of Love and devotion. Hence, this is my most favourite book ever. This is a must read even for non believers because the love remains the same. No emotion can surpass Love. There is a profound message on love in this book as it talks about Mira's undying faith and love for Lord Krishna. The book gives strength and hope to many and truly I am very inspired by Mira. Mira is very very close to my heart. Best book ever!

Brilliant Story telling!

Good illustrations. And the story was very interesting.

It showed beautifully the devotion and various problems mira bai faced but still was steadfast in hwr devotion.

What's more she never stopped following her duties as a wife even when she became an unalloyed devotee and famous.

Its interesting to note that when she needed advice she wrote a letter to Tulasidas another great saint of her time and she took his advice to heart and left chittor for good. It shows she was not a sentimental fool singing praises for Krishna but an intelligent and level headed person following the scientific process of Bhaktiyoga.

Thank You! Wonderful!

Amazing

Mira - Love

Kisna, my kisna, love of my heart, your virah is sweet. My tears have become a stream to reach the ocean at your feet. I am not, you are.

Read this wonderful comic book, while listening to the songs of kisna - my favorite movie.

The story of Mirabai is deeply emotional, exceedingly inspirational and one that signifies unwavering commitment and devotion to the Deity, in this case , Bhagavan Krishna. Out of the recent mix of Amar Chitra Katha comics consumed by me, this has the best illustrations; each page has that quality which makes it look like a painting.

This book talks tales about a Mirabai, who falls in love with Krishna. This is a similar story to Romeo and Juliet. The intended audience for this book is for children who like to read love stories such like Romeo and Juliet. The theme of this book is Indian tales, love and children book. I chose this book because it shows diversity and tells a beautiful love story,
