Cara Kent lives in a cozy apartment in San Antonio, Texas with her feisty black cat.

She has spent most of her life dreaming of publishing her own novel. After the pandemic changed the course of her life, she found time and motivation to finish up her novels and have them published.

When not reading a thriller or romantic suspense novel in her apartment, you can find Cara Kent at a local coffee shop or volunteering at the local animal shelter.

Uhm what??? There were quite a few times I wanted to stop reading because I was annoyed with the storyline or characters. But past page 90 there were many twists and the ending was crazy I couldn’t stop reading. Still confused.

Such a good book!!

This is my first book by Cara Kent and I can’t wait to read more from her. Her writing is fantastic. I highly recommend this book.

Throughout the book it had me questioning who the real bad character was. Who was lying and who was telling the truth. There are so many twists and turns. When I thought I had figured out who the baddie was something else popped up in a chapter that had me questioning my choice. Each chapter kept me wanting more as the plot thickened at each interval. I really had to pace myself reading this book or I wouldn’t have gotten anything else done or any sleep. Definitely a well written form of psychological fiction.

I never saw the ending coming. It was a total shock for me. I do believe that Matt was a master manipulator and, in the end, got what he wanted. Yet, I’m not sure who did murder Violet. The end of the story leaves you guessing.

Let me start by saying that if not for the chapter and paragraphs construction I would have given this book more stars. The long chapters with lots of different topics on them, and not breaks between this different topics, at times felt to me a little confusing, and I had to go. Am. To reread the scene to understand what was happening in the plot.
Having said that, this is a very good book plot and character wise. There are a lot of twists that they are hard to see or anticipate and the character development is flawless. It was really hard to figure out who the “bad” person was.
The biggest twist of all happens at the end, and what an end, brilliant.
According to the author, this is only her second novel, I’m sure the next one will be as good or even better than this one, and I can’t wait to read it.

This book is wild to the very end. This is Cara Kent’s second book and she’s doing a great job in the thriller genre! The twists and character details are perfect and well executed.
My only suggestion would be to have shorter chapters that break up different parts of the story. A few times I had to flip back because the chapter went into something else and I thought I had missed/forgotten something. If it had been a new chapter, it would have flowed a bit better. I am really enjoying the stories though and the twist in this book left me shocked!

This was a great story, one I couldn't put down. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I realized there was a twist. But Cara Kent is such a good writer that she keeps the reader guessing right up until the last page, when the reader still isn't sure exactly what happened! This is everything a suspenseful book should be. I received an advanced reader copy of this book, which did not affect my review.

Mine is a complex story of how one person can manipulate how things are seen. Full of twists and turns Mine will keep you reading until the last page. It will make you wonder just how many people who are seeming normal are truly evil. The ending is in ways surprising and unexpected. Be careful who you fall in love with!

what?!?

I’m so confused ! What a brilliant book! The storyline was perfect and draws you in. I was totally surprised by this story my mind is still trying to catch up with everything. I’m just floored with the ending. This book definitely was twisty I loved it and the characters . Just amazing!

I really did enjoy this book, it was different from my normal books to start with and I thought umm not sure if going to like this to start with but then it got really better and so I enjoyed it. Loved the ending.

Left me confused

A good story but slightly confusing. Anytime you find out you have accidentally hooked up with a married man "Run". It will never turn out well. The last few chapters led me to believe one way but the last page was the real kicker.
