Sometimes, the quest for vengeance can cost more than you’re willing to pay.
Blakely Sullivan was a foreign aid worker in the Middle East when a deadly bombing took the lives of families she’d come to know and love, collateral damage in someone else’s war. She’s spent the last year coming to terms with the senseless loss, healing from the pain…and trying to ease the guilt of someone equally important—the special forces soldier she grew close to on her mission. Ryker blames himself for the deaths, and when he won’t take her calls, she has no choice but to seek him out.
Ryker Harp’s final mission as a Delta ended in devastation and loss. Not only did he and his teammates barely escape Beirut with their lives, but locals he’d befriended were targeted by the enemy. Since leaving the military, his life has taken more than one unexpected turn, but the guilt remains, and so does his ultimate to annihilate the man who caused such death and destruction. He can’t allow any distractions—least of all a beautiful aid worker he can’t forget…and doesn’t deserve.
When Blakely shows up in Lindeman, Ryker tries to keep his distance to ensure her safety. But it’s too late. His enemy has found him. And history may repeat itself if Ryker can’t protect everyone he loves most…starting with Blakely.
Australian Romantic Suspense Author, Nyssa Kathryn, is a passionate reader and writer of all things romance. Living in South Australia with her hubby and daughter, when she's not spending time with the family, she's either plotting her next story or got her head stuck in a book.
Blakely Sullivan is caught in the middle of a deadly game that could get her killed. She goes looking for the man she fell for.
The woman could stand in a crowd of a thousand and he’d find her. Sense her. Feel her close by.
Ryker Harp has taken the weight of the death on his shoulders. He is seeking revenge and doesn’t want to let anyone get to close.
“The rest of me feels bound to her. Tethered with a chain so strong, it’s unbreakable.”
This story has so much push and push. This is not a easy love. Evil will try to destroy there world.
One moment can change everything. Obliterate every carefully laid plan. Every hope for the future. Extinguish it all like a wildfire in a thunderstorm.
What was that?!!! The whole reason I started this series was because I saw someone talking about this book and this was so disappointing. Every other book in this series was a 3.5-4 star read which is why I am so shocked. The story felt more rushed than the other books and Blakey’s desperation had me cringing deeply. I was screaming at her multiple times to just leave the man and save some face😭😭 Ryker only seemed interested in her when he was horny while she was ready to lay the world at his feet like?? Hoping Erik’s story doesn’t follow this pattern☹️☹️
This is exactly the conclusion to the series that I didn’t even know I needed! Ryker has been holding out on us, and when his past collides with the present in more ways than one, he’s got to decide which way to turn. Does he abandon love for vengeance? Or does he try to have both? Or maybe he finds love and loses the need for vengeance over justice?
Blakely had Ryker once. Her friend, her confidant, her lover. And she needs to know he’s okay now. Even if that means breaking her heart all over again. And trust me, it feels like it just might if Ryker doesn’t catch a clue fast. Because the trauma of the past, the fear of hoping for a future, and the one woman he loves but can’t admit to loving combined might be the end of him. Or he might be the end of her. It’s a tossup a few times.
But Ryker gets his head and heart aligned, just in time. Between quick thinking on all parts, friends who are more like family, and luck, these two manage to survive and can build a forever together.
And Erik? Well, he’s got a story of his own to tell. I have a feeling it’s going to lead us to another group of men and women just waiting for us to meet them. I can’t wait for it.
We have all been waiting for Ryker’s story ever since Mercy Ring started. That’s a lot of pressure and Nyssa certainly did not crack! I think Ryker is the best book of this series. Second chance is not an easy trope to write and she did it perfectly. There is pain to work through, there is doubt, there are two people working through that together because they love eachother that much. Wow. Just Wow. The suspense is great as well, just like we are used to in a Nyssa Kathryn book. Well done and a great read!!
Ryker is book 4 in the Mercy Ring series by Nyssa Kathryn. Ryker Harp's last employment overseas ended with the death of a young family, which he still has problems with because he believes that it was his fault. In addition, Blakely Sullivan also has issues with the death of this family. Blakely Sullivan turned up at Mercy Ring to see Ryker. However, it did not turn out as she had hoped. The readers of Ryker will continue to follow Ryker and Blakely to discover what happens.
The readers of Ryker will understand the importance of boxing to relieve stress and provide self-defence for women and teenagers. In addition, this book started me thinking about how trauma can affect people and how they can cope with the fallout. Ryker is another fantastic addition to this excellent series. With all of Nyssa Kathryn's books, I was engaged with Ryker from the first page and continued to the end, and I also forgot to go to sleep again.
I love Nyssa Kathryn's portrayal of her characters and their interaction with each other throughout this book. Ryker is well-written and researched by Nyssa Kathryn. I like Nyssa Kathryn's description of the settings of Ryker, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.
My love for Nyssa Kathryn’s stories continues! Perfect for those who are fans of a bit of action and suspense with their romance. You won’t be disappointed!
Ryker and Blakelys story was different then the rest of the series and my favorite cause even though Ryker is perfect and nobody wants to cross him, Blakely was the one to help him rise from the ashes no matter how much it killed her everytime he pushed her away, it worked for a while but now nothing is going to keep her away from him or getting him to see past his own anguish to see that he can heal, he won’t forget and neither will she but she wants him to realize he has to live

Having been unable thanks to an overbooked schedule to read the previous book in this series, I could not let this one pass by me. Plus who does not love the wounded lonesome hero set on his path for revenge. We all know it won’t go smoothly and the one person he wanted to protect will be the one in the line of fire. And with such a fellow comes the kind and caring heroine who goes beyond herself to reach him out. His perfect match as she is the heart and reason to his fire and drive. Don’t get me wrong, she is as motivated to see justice done as him, but she follows a less chaotic violent path. Blakely is quite the woman, courageous to go after the man she loves when he rejects or pushes her away again and again. As Ryker for all his words and defections, is lost when he has to think about her. Another great tale ox second chance, healing and looking forward. 4.5 stars

I have been granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
Loved!!! After all Ryker has been through – his experience overseas, the torment and guilt he carried along with his self-induced exile from any kind of attachment; even keeping his family and friends at a distance, I loved seeing Blakely break through all the barriers he had erected around himself. There is so much anger, angst, heartache, and self-blame pouring out of him, Ryker really needed a happy ending. Blakely was the perfect match for his stubbornness and to help quiet the storm of emotions raging within him; she was most definitely the light to his darkness. It was both torturous and wonderful to watch her break through his barriers and help him and them as a couple heal. It was also great to catch up with the rest of the characters in the Mercy Ring series. They are all one big family and it shows in every conversation and every action between them.
I’d have to say out of all the characters in this series, Ryker is the one that stood out to me the most. There is so much pain and anger buried deep within him, until he is forced to confront his demons, it’s hard to get a grasp on it all until it starts pouring out. Blakely had to suffer her own pain and demons as well over the time they’ve been apart and it was sad to see her have to deal with everything on her own. Things happened to her that Ryker was not even aware of and she had to find a way to come to terms with it all, as well as dealing with the nightmares and Ryker’s rejection and silence. Watching them slowly find their way back to each other in the middle of all the chaos around them kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation. There was just so, so much feeling in the pages of this book.
Suspense, danger, action, pain, longing, anger, revenge, heartbreak, fear, love, excitement, family, brotherhood, romance, and more…it was just fantastic from beginning to end. Oh, and I also loved seeing more of Erik in Ryker’s book and am really looking forward to his spin-off trilogy. There is so much mystery with that man and I can’t wait to see what he’s all about. I loved everything about this book and I highly recommend it as well as the other books in the series.
4.5* I both love and wanted to scream at the final instalment of the Mercy Ring series! Finally, the truth behind Ryker’s past and the turmoil beneath the muscular perfection is everything we wanted it to be, dark, intense, raw and heartbreaking. When the love of his life refuses to give up on him, Ryker must make a choice, Vengeance or happiness? Because to him, he’s unsure he can ever have both. Whilst I want to scream at Blakely to tell her to get a grip and not appear so desperate at the beginning, it is her unyielding need to help Ryker that may be the only thing that can save him. Unlike the others in the series, this book isn’t just about Rykers need to protect her from the traumas of the past, Blakely can take care of herself, it’s about how she can save him just as much as only he can save himself. Well written, full of twists and suspense, danger and love, Blakely and Rykers story is different from the others, their history deeper than any of his former delta or family even knows. A good culmination of the series that will not disappoint. Overall, I loved this series, whilst I think Declan just peeks out as my favourite, I thoroughly enjoyed every book and will definitely re read these several times. You cannot get enough of these men. Told well from both POV’s, the author helps you slip into the characters mind so easily you feel part of the story. The only thing that stops this series from hitting 5*’s is the slight predictability, the stories follow typical troupes and although she throws plenty of spanners into the works this author is good enough to throw in some serious shockwaves which I wish she did. Yes, they are full of suspense, danger, twists and turns, but there was definitely space for this author to leave us dangling from a cliff with bated breath between books at least once. This was my first series form this author and I will 100% be reading everything she has ever wrote. Not going to lie, Erik’ story hasn’t left my mind since book one, and I’m dying to find out more about the shadowy figure that has featured in every book but never let anything slip.
"If a drunk guy offers to let you pet his royal duck, King Henry, you don’t say no.”
This is the most unrealistic book in the series (thus far).
In the prologue (yup, I am starting early), it says 'A hotel she wasn’t supposed to be at, in a town she shouldn’t be in. But there wasn’t anywhere else in the world she should be.' Using 'should' as a word of emphasis in two consecutive sentences does not flow well. Saying in a town she 'didn't expect to' be in works much better.
When someone visits a place without knowing the date they will leave, getting a hotel room seems like a waste of money. Instead, a month-to-month rental would be more economical and include more amenities, like a kitchen.
Aria scowled. “That’s not cool, the backtracking butthole!” Aria is 32. Decades past using the word "butthole." This makes me cringe.
“Hope you didn’t venture to Syria. That would be dangerous.” Seriously Erik, people she helped in Lebanon were killed by a bomb, a retaliation. She may have helped civilians, but her job still put her in a dangerous environment (outside of Syria). She was a risk each day she was there.
No ones lips would be swollen from a one sided closed mouth, brief kiss.
Acid flashed in her eyes... What does that even mean? What does acid look like other than an irreversible burn?
Piercing shouts, at least five decibels louder... Just say louder. No one knows how many more decibels louder. Especially such a small increase. Ridiculous.
...held his gaze like he was all that existed in the room. Aside from herself, he is all that exists in the room. Maybe she meant the world.
I’m not going to lie to you, I was so eager to read Ryder’s story that I really wanted his book to be released before others, I understand now why it wasn’t. 😆 But… he annoyed me so much for so long in this story I was ready to shake him. I understood about his emotional health being very fragile and that he thought he was doing the right thing, but please, blind Miffy the cat and her deaf friend Ditzy would even be able to tell he wasn’t thinking clearly! Nor was he truly thinking about Blakely, how she felt and what she’d gone through.
Blakely deserved a medal for her perseverance, tolerance and caring nature. I really liked Blakely from the get go, and as her character profile was gradually built up throughout the story, I liked her more and more. She unknowingly helps Ryker in lots of small ways, but to be fair, he redeemed himself proving the real man he is and always was, it was the deep agony of losing friends and the injustice and wickedness of that evil character that changed him. The anger and need for revenge was so consuming it basically took over his life. I ended up not only liking his character but admiring it too.
There’s so much heart-stopping action, great suspense and incredible drama in this story that you definitely get absorbed by how powerful the scenes are and the emotional roller coaster we are taken on. I felt the extreme anguish and intense anger in a few scenes but particularly towards the end of the book. I was literally reading as fast as I possibly could to find out what happened. Honestly, it really brought home to me just why Ryker did what he did earlier in the story, very clever writing by this author. In my opinion, this exciting book is the best in the series and I thoroughly enjoyed the other three. I can’t wait to read Erik’s story next.
If you’ve followed Author Nyssa Kathryn’s MERCY RING series from the start, you’ll know we first met RYKER in Book One: JACKSON where he was the heroine, River Harp’s brother. He’d been fighting undercover in an underground boxing ring and when it had gone bad, had faked his death to protect River and his family, although I can tell you now that they weren’t overly appreciative of his actions or his sentiments!
What an exciting 5-Star action filled series this has been, and Ms Kathryn definitely saved the best for last! He was the most adversely affected member of his military team from the last mission they had been on, and the darkness in his soul was slowly seeping the life out of him.
Blakely had just as much trauma going on in her life too, although she dealt with it in a more emotionally stable way and I loved the strength of her character. She was such an amazing woman who had the patience of a saint in putting up with RYKER’s behaviour, even though Ms Jackson wrote it is such a way that it didn’t become an onerous task to read about what he was getting up to!
Yep, there’s lots to resolve and the team have a lot to accomplish before RYKER could be in a position to possibly move on with Blakely.
Erik is the dark horse we see so much more of in this book and I really want to know his story. He had been a part of the underground boxing ring who’d trained RYKER, was the closest to understanding the darkness that he had been carrying around with him. He was one tough nut to crack, but he did soften towards Blakely and saved her backside more than once!!!!
Such a great high action, angsty and romantic read!! 5-Full-On-Stars!✯🥊☆ #mumsalwaysreading #bookblogger #bookreviewer #marnsreads #marnsj
I knew that Ryker's book was going to be the best, he's such a brooder and I seriously could not wait to find out more about his and Blakely's story.
After being apart for a year, texts and phone calls unanswered by the man she loves, she shows up in his hometown. And wouldn't you know it, it's the night of the 'Date Auction' and Ryker is the star, she gets into a bidding war over him with some local woman but ends up winner a date with the man she hasn't seen in a very long time. He tries to push her away at every turn but she never gives up.
After a night of being harassed by the woman who lost the auction to Blakely and her two guy friends, Ryker steps in to defined her, they have a passion night Blakely thought would never come, but Ryker has one condition, he will go on this date with her, only if she leaves town afterward.
Blakely never gets the chance to leave town, even though Ryker has been so persistent that she get out and save herself because he doesn't deserve someone like her after all the pain and death he thinks he's caused. Blakely is kidnapped and narrowly escapes and Ryker realizes that he almost lost the only woman he has ever loved. So, they find each other once again and promising never to leave each other... but Saad is still out there lurking in the shadows.
This book was so freaking good, I really enjoyed getting to know Blakely better and finding out what really happened over in the middle east. I loved the dynamic between River and Ryker, I really felt their connection in this story. There was so much going on, and I hope that now that all the danger has pasted the guys and girls can finally all settle down and have a normal fulling life together. lol
I have been both excited and sad for Ryker’s book. Excited because I knew his story would be unbelievably emotional, and sad because I knew it was going to be heartbreaking! I feel like in this book Nyssa really shows the depth of her writing. If you’ve read her books you know she can write an alpha, over protective, sexy, growly hero like very few can. And she also writes leading ladies that you respect and admire. But this book…this book showed her ability to write a truly tortured hero to a depth that just made my heart ache for all that Ryker and Blakely had been through. You can feel the guilt and anger and anguish that Ryker feels weighing on him. And you can feel the heartbreak and frustration that Blakely feels every time he pushes her away. One minute I wanted to shake some sense into Ryker and the next I wanted to hug him! Their love story is truly a work of art! Ryker and Blakely are two halves of the same whole, and meant for each other. The storyline was amazing and intense. I love the glimpses we get of the guys’ time overseas when they were in the military. I also love how Nyssa brings everything full circle for all of them in that they’re able to finally track down the man that was responsible for so many of their injuries and their leaving the military. And the snippets we get of Eric and his larger role in this book make me so excited for his story! Overall this was the best book of the series! It put me through the emotional ringer! But Ryker and these men love deeply and their loyalty is breathtaking. I’m not ready to say goodbye to these characters yet, so I’m going to need a book sized epilogue!
𝐌𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒: 𝐑𝐲𝐤𝐞𝐫 is a second chance romance between an ex military man who's determined to let the past write his future & the woman he feels can do better than a man who lives in darkness.
When I tell you I devoured this book, I mean 𝐈 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐓!! I started reading this morning, and by evening, I was done. It was one hell of a ride that I couldn't have put down if I tried.
This unfortunately is the last book in this incredible series and although I will miss these characters terribly, the author did such an amazing job with this story that it was the perfect way to send the guys. . . And girl off towards their hea.
It was jam-packed with mouthwatering heat, sizzlingly chemistry, unbreakable friendships, and moments that had me on the edge of my seat with my heart ready to beat out of my chest. It was a truly spectacular read that I highly recommend.
Now, it can absolutely be read as a standalone, but trust me when I say that you won't regret starting at the beginning. This is a phenomenal author, so grab your copy today!

I love when you read a series and there is that one character that grabs you, stands out and your imagination can't stop thinking about there story. For me Ryker is one of those characters. Meeting in Beirut and finding the love of your life, was something that Blakely and Ryker experience but revenge meant that prices needed to be paid and distance in place and time stepped in. Blakely wants the love of her life back and Ryker just wants revenge. I absolutely loved this book so much so that I read it within a few hours as I couldn't put it down. I love the action, the family dynamic and the love that they have for each other. Guilt has a way of making you into someone that you don't necessarily want to be, but out of necessity you need to hold onto something to help you survive and in some case just plain existence. Ryker is like that, he hold guilt and trauma from his past that has dictated the way he exists and in some cases you understand that need to have things a certain way. Ryker loves hard, he loves deeply and for him doing that right thing is a compulsion that makes him who he was and is today. Blakely is similar, though while she is strong and capable and willing to help do what is necessary it unfortunately means for her that there are high prices and physical scars that she has to bear to manage to move on.
This book can be read as a standalone but it is so worth reading the series as well
A year ago, foreign aid nurse Blakely Sullivan and ex-Delta Ryker Harp felt they were more than casual when they met in Beirut. The mission succeeded but the target’s brother, Saad, wanted revenge. Unable to get to Ryker and his team, Saad bombed locals Ryker cared about. Blakely was injured in it too, she told Ryker about the locals but not herself.
Still in love, Blakely constantly calls and texts Ryker, he texted only to tell her they were over, she decides it’s time for a face to face. When Blakely comes to Lindeman, the I want you/It’s all my fault/I’m not good enough for you’ shields are firmly in place. Hurt over exclusion from Ryker’s major life events and his constant rejection, Blakely reluctantly decides to leave.
While Ryker is Blakely’s focus, she isn’t his, that position belongs to Saad. Ryker’s unaware that while he’s hunting Saad, he’s being hunted by him as well or that Saad has tracked him close enough to see Blakely’s back in Ryker’s life and the habits of Ryker and his family.
As much as I wanted to enjoy this one note (well, three, tiring, boring, repetitive) unacknowledged love story, it unfortunately wasn’t my read. To my taste, the leads weren’t developed enough during the first half of the read, that concentrated on the shield merry-go-round, to care or invest in the leads or the outcome and thought what I got was too frenzied and too late. Rating: 3.25stars
Ryker is the fourth and final book in the Mercy Ring series by Nyssa Kathryn. This is Ryker and Blakely’s book.
Ryker has never been the same since he and his Delta teammates barely made it out alive from Beirut. He feels pain and guilt because of deaths that were not his fault.
Blakely suffers the loss of the same deaths that Ryker does, expect she also suffers from him pushing her away. They shared a deep connection in Beirut and made plans for a future together. She’s tired of Ryker ignoring her attempts to contact him, and shows up in Lindeman to confront him face to face.
I really liked Ryker and Blakely together. She’s a really strong person and calmed Ryker like none of his friends or family could do. He pushes her away a few times more than I thought he should, but I haven’t suffered the kind of loss he did, so it’s not fair for me to judge him. Blakely came close to giving up, but finally Ryker realizes how much he needs her. He also realizes how much she hurt and that being together is what's best for them both.
Their enemy from Beirut comes to them and it’s a fight against time for Ryker and all his teammates to find the bad guy before everyone Ryker loves is lost.
On a final note, I really liked Erik and am glad to see that he has his own series (Beautiful Pieces) which I plan on reading next.
I could not put this book down! Ryker and Blakely’s story should come with a warning. Ryker has been avoiding his love for a beautiful nurse since a horrible tragedy took place in the small village of Beirut that they were working in. He built a wall so thick and high around himself to ward off the pain and devastation from the tragic killing of innocent lives and the guilt that plagued him, that his sister and friends wonder if they will ever see a bit of the old Ryker come back. Blakely is not so quick to give up, time after time she comes to him, working hard to not give up on what they had. And time and time again, she’s hit with rejection. She can sense see the torment and pain he hides, all the while dealing with her own nightmares and pain and yet still doesn’t give up. Will her love be enough to get through to Ryker before the danger that followed them from overseas takes one of them forever? Will the Delta Force band of brothers be able to overtake the constant threat that hovers over their loved ones? Just when you think Nyssa can’t top the previous books in the series, she blows it out of the water. Amazing chemistry, heart pounding action and non stop paige turning excitement to see what happens to our hero’s next!
We are back with another wonderful story in this series about former Delta Forces members who own a boxing ring. All carrying the ghosts and pain of their time in the service. This time it’s Ryker Harp’s story. Ryker carries the guilt of an explosion in Beirut that ended the lives of families he had befriended. It’s been a year and his feelings have not changed even though he was not there when it happened. Blakely Sullivan, a foreign aid worker, met and fell in love with Ryker and had planned a future with him. While he was away during the explosion, she was in Beirut and trying to save any of their friends , suffer physical as well as emotional injuries. When Ryker refuses to answer her calls , she travels to LIndeman. From the moment these two meet again, the feelings as well as the anguish are co-existing . But a dangerous man is trying to destroy Ryker and anyone he cares for. Will these two live to find happiness, or will the evil prevail? This story was at times heartbreaking, action packed and one worth your time. The characters are perfect in their imperfections. Another great addition to the series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
The final book in the Mercy Ring series did not disappoint.
Blakely Sullivan smart, kind, and generous. Over the last year she’s tried to come to terms with the horribly tragic deaths of the families she’d come to know and love while working as a foreign aid worker in the Middle East. She’s also trying to get Ryker to overcome his guilt and help him heal. At a loss when Ryker will not return her calls or texts Blakely shows up in Lindeman to find him.
Ryker Harp is strong, protective, and loving. He’s struggling with guilt and loss after having the enemy target the innocent locals he had befriended on his last mission. He is determined to get justice and will stop at nothing to achieve it. When Blakely shows up in his town he does his best to push her away for her own safety.
But the enemy has found him and Ryker will have to protect everyone he loves or history may be on repeat.
I really loved the connection between Ryker and Blakely. They really understood the loss and guilt that they were both feeling and were able to help each other through it.
Full of suspense, action, mystery, love, loss, hope, heat and complete with an HEA.

Ryker's life has been off the wall the last couple of years. His last mission for the military was a shtshow. His teammates almost died. His local friends did. He blames himself. Then, he got caught up in working undercover and had to fake his death to protect his sister. But she didn't believe it and almost got killed. Now, the aid worker from his last mission is still trying to contact him, and the terrorist from that mission is stateside. Blakely's heart was broken by Ryker. They had become... something... to each other while they were overseas. But when his last mission resulted in innocent people dying, he left the military and her behind. His only thought now is for revenge. Blakely showing up makes things complicated. No one is safe.
I knew this book was going to hurt, but dang. I didn't know it was going to hurt that hard. I really would have liked to have seen the men from the other series come help, but I understand the need to make the men of this series the hero. I'm not happy that Erik's book is split into 3 parts.
This was the perfect ending to this series. Ryker was the last single member of his team, but he had already found and pushed away his match. Blakely thought she and Ryker were starting something special, when the unthinkable happened and he pushed her out of his life, but after a year of healing and trying to contact him, she is finally ready to confront Ryker.
This book was a little different than the first three in this series. Ryker was in a dark place and he was determined to stay there. He pushed Blakely away every chance he got, but the more she showed up, the harder it got. Blakely was the true hero of this story. She knew what she wanted and what Ryker needed and she never gave up on him. And while Ryker was still the protective alpha, Blakely saved him just as much as Ryker saved her.
I’m sad to see this series end. I loved the brotherhood between Jackson, Declan, Cole, and Ryker. Each book brought out a different side of each of the men and they all truly found their matches. I hope we get to see more of them in Erik’s trilogy and I’m excited to see all his secrets unfold.
Ryker, the last man standing in the ring who has many demons he’s been fighting since coming home, has a mission and no one is going to stop him…..not even the one woman who brings him to his knees. Blakely has been trying for over a year for Ryker to get back to her and her last ditch effort has her travelling to Lindeman to try once more but face to face with him. Ryker is having none of it, he believes she is better off without him and doesn’t want to pull her into his darkness. When his past comes looking for them, no one is safe in is his circle especially the ones he loves….including Blakey. A bittersweet end to the Mercy series with Ryker and Blakely the last ones to fight for love and their lives. I couldn’t stop flipping the pages as these two work through all that has been keeping them apart, finding comfort in each other and sharing all the pain and sorrow each has been living with. Once again this author hits it out of the ballpark, suspense, action, steam, heartache and heartbreak, hope, love and amazing characters. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
I've been anxious to get to Ryker's story since Jackson's Story in Mercy Ring Book 1 came out. And this book did not disappoint that's for sure! It had everything I expected and more from the suspense, heart racing moments, twists & turns, secrets revealed, & lots of reconnecting with the whole crew from previous books.
Ryker & Blakely both have lived through so much heartache & pain apart. I always wondered what their story was since book 1 & from the beginning to the end of this story I definitely enjoyed this book, the story definitely reeled me in. This book like the other previous 3 was hardest to put down once I started reading it was just that great of a storyline. It left me at the edge of my seat, holding my breath, bawling my eyes out at some parts of this book & yet cheering on praying the good guys came out on top and Ryker found his person to bring him out of the darkness. I can't wait to read more books and have this book 5 stars like the rest because it's so worth taking the time to read! Kudos to Nyssa for another amazing book.
Ryker has been on the periphery of the Mercy Ring gang for some time now due to his guilt and pain over the deaths of families he grew to love while a Delta on his last mission in the Middle East. Blakeley is the girl we didn't realise he needed and who suffers just as much as Ryker for their deaths, physically and emotionally and who is desperate to reconnect. Blakeley's arrival begins the emotional ups and downs and suspense filled action as their past comes back to haunt them in a way they'd never guessed. They have to decide to stand together and fight or let devastation, hurt and anger tear them apart once and for all.
This is another great book by Nyssa Kathryn and she does Ryker justice as he battles his demons to get back to some of who he once was. Blakeley is fierce, determined and a perfect match for Ryker and another great addition to the Mercy Ring family. Ryker may be the final book in the Mercy Ring series but it is in no way the last we will see of these characters and I can't wait to find out more about Erik's past and see where his life takes him in the future.
