Entwined Magic

Rate this book
An old evil stalks the land, leaving death and worse things in its wake.
An older-yet prophecy, long forgotten, reappears in the webs of the great House of Weavers.

A reclusive witch...Wary of her own power, she hides herself and her magic away on a remote homestead deep in The Wood. A decade ago, Ellie fell in love with the man who promised to teach her to wield her magic; when her happily-ever-after ended in bloodshed and death, she promised herself she’d never again be so foolish.

A cranky werewolf...

Wary of humans and witches alike, he still bears the scars from the silver blades his first love’s father and brothers used when they left him for dead a decade prior. Alexander trusts no one but the pack that took him in and helped him heal; he promised himself he’d never again do anything so dangerous as fall in love.

Two paths will cross...

As tainted magic creeps deeper into The Wood, Ellie and Alexander’s worlds are placed on a collision course. The witch and the werewolf meet their match in one another; their stubbornness, tempers, and general distrust of others setting them at odds from the start.

A choice must be made...

Despite their best efforts to maintain their distance, Ellie and Alexander reach an uneasy truce — for now. As the bodycount continues to rise, so does the threat to all they hold dear.

Can they put aside their fear long enough to keep the land they both love and its inhabitants safe?
Or will they continue to let old wounds guide their choices, dooming history to repeat itself?

Middle-Paced, Fantasy with F/M Spice… And a unique writing style.

Witches, shifters, gods, and a unique take on fairy folk. And did I say giant otherworldly spiders as tertiary characters and a FMC witch that chops off the head of her evil ex? Yes, yes, you will find that here in a middle-paced fantasy with spice and mild TW (list at front of book).

While the characters and storyline are unique, the writing style sets this book apart from many fantasies. It took me about three chapters to really settle into it. A.R. Lewis has a longhand and almost poetic way of writing—which was hard for me at times because of my short attention span—but it's also very beautiful, even when the scenes are graphic or spicy.

This book feels like it could be the first book in a series. I saw a side story listed on Amazon, though it's unavailable in KU, and I'll probably read that next.

Bored

This book was boring to me. I was not invested enough in the main characters. I did not feel any connection.
