I have been waiting MONTHS to read this book!!!! Spent my day off of work to read it so I could solely focus on it.

This book did not disappoint!!! The relationship between Svenn and Nel is absolutely adorable, and I wasn’t sure how he was going to be introduced into the story. Being a vampire was a twist I should’ve seen coming, since they’re all but gone.

I understand that Svenn was trying to understand the situation with the curse being transferred to Nel, but being an asshole is not okay! I wish I could beat him up.

It felt like it was lacking on the plot or maybe this is just an unfinished series. Regardless I still enjoyed it and I’d read the next one!!! (Please let there be a book 2?!)

I've been anxiously waiting for this book! I came across a TT video, I think almost a year ago, & it was a small snippet of when Nel is in the labyrinth. Anyways, it really enamored me into the potential of the story. So I added it to my TBR.. The wait was really worth it. I won't give spoilers, but honestly, it's been a while where I've read a good book where there's a good balance to the plot & spice. The author really does well with her writing(although there were some grammatical errors, when the author can really captivate with her writing, I can overlook it). There were moments where I really felt for Nel & Svenn, & got teary-eyed. There were other moments when I was kicking my feet & giggling. Our FMC is Rhianelle, aka Nel & our MMC is Svenn. How Svenn enters the scene is where I was captivated by this story. There's a nice balance between Nel's innocent & resilient character. Where her innocence doesn't get annoying but is adorbs! I love Svenn even when he was mean(enemies to lovers). The author did well with character writing. Our side characters, especially the demons & Garret, will have u giggling. Can't wait for the next book!

Mad its over

I have been waiting months for this book after seeing the author post a video on insta and I tell you this was worth the wait. And ill be patiently waiting for the second book to come out!

The beginning of this story has alot of world building to get through but once you do oh is it worth it. Imagine the new lord of the rings tv show meets, throne of glass with perfectly timed smut and wonderfully dark men!

This story was beautifully written and well paced. I haven’t enjoyed a fantasy book this much in so long. I love how over-powered Rhianelle is but its so subtle that it takes a while to figure out. I truly didnt want it to end. I would have loved to go deeper into Svenn’s history. And I want to know more about the curse. The side characters were all enjoyable and didnt feel like side characters. Cant wait for the next book. Please dont let it be a year from now.

Amazing

I loved this book. Good characters and a wonderful start to a series! Even had a few laughs. Story isn’t finish, but no true cliffhanger.

So good

Can't wait for the next book to come out! The book has a great pace, and word builds throughout, not just an info dump at the beginning.

omfg I was in a reading slump for a while and this book took me out of it!!

I actually like this book!!!

Idk about any of you guys but the emotions I got were amazing! The FMC was so interesting that I actually enjoyed reading her POV’s I usually don’t enjoy reading female POV as it has became repetitive same generic stuff but this one made me feel different about it. Like she wasn’t annoying she was petite but always strong but not just strong mentally but physically as well which I don’t see a lot in FMC’s nowadays. Also Sven was a dick but I’d forgive him if my girl does!

This book was worth the wait and now I can’t wait for the next instalment. I have such high hopes since this book was a great introduction!

Obsessed with this storyline/characters/world!!! This author does an amazing job of creating this world(s) that you just want to be immersed in. So many interesting creatures and species. All of the characters are well thought out and add perfect balance to the plot that surrounds our FMC and MMC. Rhianelle is a bad ass and beyond admirable. While Svenn is broody and jaded in the best way. I am beyond excited to read the next book in this series.

I still have so many questions that I need answers to!!

The protagonist is a refreshing change from the typical teenage angst that often permeates young adult novels. Instead, they exude a sense of maturity and resilience that is both relatable and admirable. ( still young, just not too naive) The author's ability to create captivating characters is evident, as each one feels developed and adds depth to the story with a dash of flirtation and 🌶️🌶️🌶️ The dialogue is natural and engaging, making it easy to become fully immersed in the world the author has created. Despite a few grammar gaffes and signs of a new writer, the overall quality of the story shines through. It is clear that the author has a talent for storytelling and a knack for creating a compelling narrative. With its blend of fantasy and romance, this book is sure to leave readers eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Amazing

I read this book in one sitting and it is good. I just fell in love with all the characters and the plot. It left me on a massive cliffhanger and all i want is the next book. So if you look for a book that can transport you from the real world to the fantasy one this is the one.

This book was ALL over the place… I was truly confused by this story line. There was too much going on, in my opinion. Was the plot avenging her sister? Was it meeting and finding Svenn? There was so much going on that I got lost in the details. The spice was spicy, that was a plus. But the story line- let’s be honest was there even a story line???? There’s 2 more books and I just can’t get myself to pick up the second book.

I might have shot myself in the foot with how people were hyping it up before the release. The typos and grammatical errors really brought me out of the story and continued through the entire book. The mix of modern and non modern vocabulary also had me questioning what side was supposed to be more aware of modern humans and who wasn't. The FMC goes from being a badass queen to an awkward, weird girl halfway through the book and the MMC points out how quirky she is. I don't think I will be continuing this series but I hope the author gets the resources they need to continue work they're clearly passionate about.

Found it on Tiktok, LOVED IT

It was definitely not what I was expecting, I loved the characters. I was expecting a love triangle, and that didn't happen. I'm glad though because I love the direction the story went. I do feel like this book could have been way longer, I don't feel that was a good spot to end book 1. But everything was played out in my head so nice, the details- perfect. I could visualize everything happening in the story. I can tell you if this author makes even more books- IM HOOKED. 💙

I really enjoyed this book!! I liked how our MMC was introduced and how mature and kind our MFC was. I’m actually really upset I have to wait for book two lol. I need more of their romance!! This review doesn’t really do the book justice, but my highlights should speak for themselves.

4 stars!
this book - what can i say
I've never read any book by Niro before and this one was awesome. So good. The first chapter was about Rhianelle having a nightmare and in that nightmare there was spice. - 🤦🏻‍♀️
LIKE - SLOW DOWN NIRO-IT'S JUST THE FIRST CHAPTER AND I'M ONLY A FEW PAGES IN!

The reason why i took out one star is because of the amount of grammar mistakes in this book. Niro writes fantastically and she describes things perfectly, but her grammar just goes icky some places in the book. Where she needs to add an 's', it's missing and where she needs to plural a word, it's singular. And this has happened more than 4 times in the book.

At first, I thought that there were going to be two love interests in the book but that was clearly not the case. There were so many freakin' more. Garret, Kheirall and Svenn. sis wtf.
a few pages in the novel while reading;

The Knight has always been by my side after Aerin's death. He even earned a nickname from Lady Deirdre;
The Queen's Shadow
My friend is no one's shadow.
"I can't lose you, Aelfric" I shake my head desperately.
"You won't," He promises solemnly. "Have faith in me, Rhianelle."

I thought that Aelfric - her childhood friend - would be the first love interest. But thankfully, I was wrong.

One thing that shocked me the most in this novel is when:

"...means you're barely seventy years of age."
Sixty-eight years old to be exact.

you're telling me the gorgeous gorgeous woman on the front cover is 68 YEARS OLD??!!

Kheirall literally said to her;
'You and I could be perfect for each other
and she didn't end up with him? she married a freakin vampire with other lovers still with her? like, she didn't interact with them but Kheirall kept calling her
"calm down, love"
"you wound me, love"
LIKE FREAKIN' AARON WARNER!

The scene now shifts to the pre-wedding-with-a-vampire drama;

The Nightwalker suddenly points at me. I don't need the demon to translate that.
He wants me.
That somehow terrifies me and comforts me at the same time.

AND THEN AHH!!! THIS BOOK ALSO HAD A "who did this to you?" SCENE!

The moon and the heavenly body in the sky suddenly stop moving in their orbit as the universe stands still. I blink at the purplish bruising on her arm, at the scarlet hue over the edges, at the clear demarcation of each finger that had left the mark.
Utter rage; overpowering and devastating surges in my brain as my vision floods red.
"Who did this to you?"

*swooned*

This book mainly focuses on the romance. It's basically romance which twists into fantasy but it's mainly romance.

I had nothing tethering me to this world then, but now...I don't want to let her go. I want a thousand smiles, a thousand more conversations with her. Even then it will never be enough.

"They can't claim you. You're mine. I'll protect you."
"For what it's worth, I'm glad you came into my existence. No matter how brief."

When Rhianelle was about to get 77 lashes, he came and announced;

"Rhianelle Wiolant is mine. Do you hear me? Touch her and there is not a place in the world you can hide. I will hunt you to the deepest wormhole and flay you layer by layer."

Yes, people, this is THE DEMON VAMPIRE - SVENN.
*applaud, applaud*

The ending didn't quite determine whether they got a happy ending or not, Svenn still thinks himself a monster and Rhianelle doesn't think she will get a future with him.
If you ask me, I'd tell you they are two devastatingly broken souls who need and are meant for each other but they misunderstand each other and just because of that, has the novel ended with their story incomplete.

I just stumbled upon this book on Facebook and was immediately intrigued by the cover. It’s absolutely gorgeous! I ordered the physical copy ASAP, but I couldn't wait for it to arrive—I had to read it now!

And I’m glad I did.

- **Spice is spicing** 🌶️🌶️🌶️
- Arranged Marriage
- Forced Proximity
- Enemies to Lovers to Enemies?
- Beauty and the Beast Retelling
- Vampire
- Demon Lords
- Fae vs. Elves
- Gorgeous Knights
- Fated Mates
- "Touch her and you die" vibes
- Possessive and morally gray MMC
- Dual POVs

First of all, the story is refreshing. It’s rare to find an FMC who isn’t in her 20s, inexperienced, or powerless. The story starts by introducing the FMC, Rhianelle, as a Queen. Her sister was killed by the Fae King, and, of course, she wants justice and swears to kill him. As the story progresses, she begins having vague dreams of meeting a mysterious stranger.

They embark on a journey to meet the Demon Lord to seek an alliance. She encounters a handsome, otherworldly stranger, and you have to read it to find out what happens next. Lol.

I'm not a great storyteller, but anyway... I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON THE SECOND BOOK, *The Ballad of the Vampire Prince*. The book needs some editing, but all in all, it’s worth the read! Please check it out!

This book is a hot mess. There’s fast paced and then there’s this. I feel like I was thrown into book 2 or 3 of a series with how much info was not explained. World building was non-existent, I feel like I was just expected to know about all the different types of elves and kingdoms, the elf vs fae war (what’s the difference between an elf and fae anyways?!), the human realm(?!) they can travel to. I’m so confused.

The FMC can’t decide if she’s going to be a meek little “wasn’t supposed to be queen, but here I am” girl or a warrior queen who skillfully fights a ogre with a tree trunk. Girl, please.

The MMC is the literal definition of hot & cold. He hates her because blah blah blah, but oh this strange bond just can’t keep him away. Barf.

I, unfortunately, will probably keep going in the series. There’s enough plot to make some sense, I’d like to see what happens, and I like to torture myself apparently. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh my I will die waiting for the next book. This was an amazing world and the connections are so pristine. Shadow daddy for the win. May Svenn roam in my soul and ease my dark shadows. Have mercy!

My first thoughts were this book was that it was going to be spice with no plot, world building and character development. If that was the case, I was only going to read this one in the series. I was pleasantly surprised that it shifted and brought in more of what I love about fantasy books, world building and character development. Yes, it did feel rushed and at times superficial but it developed well enough that I will read the next one.

very difficult to follow the plot - felt like some scenes came out of no where and had to reread a ton of passages to really gauge what was happening.
also not a lot of info on the houses, their significance, like the author just kind of threw these names in and hoped we knew what it meant. Very confusing
