Burke Longton has traveled to Scotland to find his brother, but instead finds himself in a dungeon, accused of a crime he did not commit. Before he can devise a plan to escape, a motley crew bursts into the cell, and he is rescued by a fiery hellion who is as beautiful as she is fierce . . .
They call her Storm—an avenging angel to the wrongly imprisoned, an outlaw wanted by the Scottish government. Everything and everyone she'd ever loved has been taken from her, and now she's determined to never let that happen again. She does not have time for tenderness or love . . . until she meets Burke. Rugged and courageous, his kisses promise nights of fevered passion, while his eyes challenge her to dream of a future together. Dare she let this man storm past her defenses and convince her to trust her heart again?
Burke Longton is in Scotland to find his half-brother, Cullen and gets into trouble when he is accused of a crime he did not commit. He is Taken by Storm when a tiny woman, known as Storm leads a motley crew into the prison and executes an escape for him and several other prisoners. She agrees to help him find his brother and the adventure begins with lots of danger, suspense and romance that develops between the Scottish beauty and the brash American.
Taken by Storm is full of adventure, danger, suspense and romance based in a realistic historical background of how the Scottish peasants lived and were mistreated. If you love historical romance, like I do, you will love this one.
4 stars. The first half of this book dragged a bit, but the second half moved quickly. Strong primary and secondary characters. Conflict (though her logic was weak) of an emotional and real danger standpoint.
This might be a book that I remember, due to the characters. Looking forward to Cullen’s book.
This was a very unique storyline and I loved it. I adore strong female characters and Storm didn’t disappoint. Well written leaving a reader to feel many emotions throughout, from sadness, anger, redemption and of course, romance complete with a HEA.
This books was a whole lotta meh. The language was flowery, but not ridiculously flowery enough to be entertaining. because "OH NO NOT ENOUGH DRAMA" and "Oops, gotta make sure we can have a sequel!" I was also hoping for SO much more action than we got. Seriously. Just. Meh.
This book I took every where i went! I had to see what the ending was! It always kept me on the edge of my seat! Wondering what the turn of the page would bring me. LOVED IT! Great book!
