There is nil when you come to good literature in Kessler´s books, but on the second hand they are full of adventure, sex, bad language and booze. They are short and amusing in a bad literature way, but for me those books are page turners.
Author led us not to his usual SS Wafen, but to U-boots. The first book of his Submarine series centered about young officer Christian Jungblut, who was once again the perfect ace facing the sleazy superiors.
He joined navy and his first post was aboard U-69 where he for the first time tasted what war is about and he liked it a great deal, however unlike Kuno von Dodenburg ( SS Wotan series), he was aware that system for which he fought was little evil. Having jewish girl deported helped a bit to open his eyes, but once again it is about canons and brass music then politics.

This book is for military fans and those who likes to amuse themselves on the beach.

An exciting novel about the crew of a U-boat as it fights the British in World War Two, as seen through the eyes of a young ensign, who has the right stuff to rise in the ranks.
