Lady Harriet is looking for passion and love in a romance. After a few seasons she almost gives up. When a close family friend passes on they go to pay their respect. They were not planning on getting involved in a murder.
Lord Gerard is an Earl but inherited a penniless estate. He and Harriet find love in the midst of all the drama and mystery. I was so happy for them and I enjoyed everything about this book!

Ashira Datya’s Review

I really enjoyed reading An Improper Lover, it reminded me of the romance novels I started out reading. Sisters Harriet and Leonora were as different as night and day. Harriet did not like the bustle of London while Leonora couldn't, or at least didn't want to, live without it.

Harriet and Leonora's family go to the country to pay their last respects to Harrison, a cousin, who married into the family years before. Once in the country, Harriet is reunited with Harrison's cousin Gerard and gets swept up into a mystery that threatens everyone she holds dear.

I have given An Improper Lover three and a half Tea Cups. The story was well written, intriguing and showed the differences between the sisters beautifully. The heat score for An Improper Lover is a one due to the love scenes being un-graphic. An Improper Lover is a great story, one I would not hesitate to read again.

I knew that I was going to love this book and love it I did! Historical romances with a mystery included are right up my alley. The story of the fiery red-headed Harriet and the handsome and gorgeous Gerard was one I couldn't put down! Maggi Andersen did a wonderful job of combining romance and suspense and keeping me intrigued until the end!

A good read

I enjoyed reading about Gerard and Harriet, how they've known each other for years and are seeing the other in a different light. Her cousin was killed that night after they arrived, though they stayed at the neighboring estate. They worked together to solve the mystery of who killed him and why. In the end they got their HEA. I highly recommend this book! 👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤

Sweet

This was a sweet romance, though spicy as well. The characters are very likeable and the plot interesting. Good story!

I would've given this 5 stars since it was truly suspenseful in parts. The couple of things I didn't like :

- the h being totally okay with seducing the H when (at least in her mind) he liked her sister.

- a couple of times it was weird that the H allows her to go inside the house all alone in the middle of the night when he suspects the servants.

Good love story

This was a sweet love story and was short enough to read in a day. Harry thought her sister would be his choice but she was wrong.
