A Second Chance Small Town Romance

An aspiring screenwriter gets a real-life plot twist—and a second chance at love—when she returns to her hometown.

On the verge of landing my dream job as a head TV writer, I’m called back to small-town Tennessee to find my aunt left me her fixer-upper inn.

Seventeen years is a long time to be away, but some things never change. I’m reminded of everything I left behind…and the man who left me behind.

Cash Henry, executive chef and owner of his family’s restaurant, is delicious as ever. And off-limits. Returning to Dragonfly Lake might be a walk down memory lane, but I’m not looking to repeat history.

I just never expected everything to still feel so real between us. The longer I’m here, the harder it is to remember I don’t belong. But my life is in LA, and I promised myself I’d put my own needs first for once.

My opportunity of a lifetime won’t last forever, but what I’m feeling for Cash just might. The last thing either of us needs is to start something we can’t finish. Will the man who broke my heart be the one to put it back together?

Undone is the third stand-alone story in the Henry Brothers series. Immerse yourself in small town Dragonfly Lake today!

I love when I find a series that ticks all my boxes - "The Henry Brothers" is one of those series. The series takes place about an hour from Nashville in a lakeside community called Dragonfly Lake. Here you will find everything you love about small town romance: fun, quirky, loyal, characters, the local restaurant/bar hangouts, a little bit of angst, and of course, a happily ever after.
Another aspect that I love in romance series is when the author reunites characters from her other series into her current book. Knupp did a great job of this by including several people from the North Brothers series. If you are familiar with Knupp, will you remember that the Henry's father married the North's mother, therefore creating the perfect opportunity for the characters to interact.
Cash is the chef at the family restaurant. In the other books, we discover that he is the "grumpy" brother. We do not know why, but it quickly becomes apparent in this story. Ava is the one that Cash let get away. Back in Dragonfly lake to take care of the inn that her aunt left her, Ava discovers that even after 17 years, she and Cash still have feelings for one another. This proves to be a problem because she lives in California.
I enjoyed reading Cash's and Ava's story. It was cute and somewhat predictable and there were a few issues with the timeline and not knowing people that they supposably grew up with, but overall, this was a nice addition to the Henry Brother series.
I received and ARC for an honest review.

4.5 Stars! Amy Knupp did it again. This small-town, second chance romance will melt your heart!

(Audio Review)
Cash and Ava used to date 17 years ago and were on the verge of marriage, until Cash broke up with Ava before joining the Navy. They both moved on with their lives and achieved their individual goals. It's been 17 years and Ava is called back to their hometown of Dragonfly Lake after she inherits her late Aunt Phyllis' Inn. She is surprised to see Cash after all this time. Their plans to stay away from each other don't go quite how they want it to.

This was so cute and I could not put the book down, I read it all in one sitting.I loved how Cash (after apologising to Ava) was completely there for her. You could really see the growth that he had throughout the years. Ava was strong and set on achieving her dreams of being a head screenwriter, but still owned herself up for love. These two were far too adorable, they had chemistry, and I was rooting for them throughout.

Another aspect of the book I liked was the fact that Ava and Cash are older, mature characters who have both lived lives (been through divorces) and are now re-discovering each other again after so long. You really get to see what they loved about each other many years ago, and also they fully get to know each other currently. Also, the small town as always, provides a charming backdrop and the townspeople are all so lovely.

The audiobook is great to listen to. Narrated by Patrick Seller and Samantha Brentmoor, both narrators were amazing with Cash and Ava respectively. They were excellent with conveying the emotions and everything the characters felt, creating the world of Undone, and bringing it all to life.

The thing I adore the most about finding an author whose work I love, and following her throughout a long career, is watching her sharpen her skills and grow in her craft. Knupp has outdone herself with this one, and I couldn’t get enough of Cash and Ava. I actually set aside another ARC by a hugely popular traditionally published author with a catalog spanning decades, and I’m not a bit sorry.

We knew there was a bit of a mystery with Cash Henry -- the feeling of “the one who got away." He's a bit of a grump, but he's a stellar chef, his skills putting the family’s restaurant in Dragonfly Lake on the map. He fills his days with family and his kitchen, while dating is far down the list of priorities. But his priorities get a bit of an adjustment the day he quite literally bumps into Ava Dean outside the hardware store.

Ava hasn’t been home to Dragonfly Lake in years, leaving town immediately after Cash broke her young heart. Now that her wonderful Aunt Phyllis has died and left Ava the Honeysuckle Inn, Ava has her work cut out for herself with repairs and staffing issues. She has no intention of staying in town when her screenplay for a TV series is about to be produced back in LA.

Oh my heart y'all, I love this one so much! The small-town setting is just enough quirky and warm and inviting, and the lively banter between the Henry siblings made me feel right at home. I loved watching Cash come out of his grumpy shell, and I felt everything with Ava as she tried to navigate change and rearrange her dreams. This phenomenal romance made me smile, swoon, chuckle and blush, and it filled my heart to bursting. The perfect balance of small-town sweet and second-chance forevers, you absolutely won’t want to miss the magical, masterful, heart-hugging read.

Third in the series, it does stand alone really well. There is character crossover that is more meaningful if you've read in sequence, but if you don't know anyone you'll be fine.

Undone is a second chance, coming home, discovery of self story.

Ava comes home to deal with the sudden passing of her Aunt and dealing with the legacy left behind in the form of a charming small town inn that desperately needs to be dragged into the modern age. She finds herself crossing paths with Cash, the one that broke her heart many many years ago. Even though they both moved on a lived life, their story isn't finished and there are hurts from years gone by that need to be addressed.

These two are so sweet together once they work through the pain of the past. However the questions of the future are holding them back. He's fully entrenched in this small town and his restaurant, she's committed to following her dream and putting herself first (which she wasn't able to do in her failed marriage). But this dream is in LA, not Tennessee.

The audiobook was performed by Samantha Brentmoor and Patrick Zeller. They both made me feel all the tension and anguish between these two. But there was also an easiness as they interacted, the pull that neither one could ignore. We get some humour and laughter, the family moments and banter is on point. And we get some serious stuff. I felt at times like I was listening to a friend tell me how their day went. It was intimate, emotional, so up close and real. The connection I felt as a listener was fantastic.

I requested and was provided with an advanced copy of the audiobook. These are my honest opinions.

I loved this delightful, small town, second chance romance! Cash and Ava were high school sweethearts and planned a future together. Just when it looks like they will get married, Cash breaks up with her then leaves for the Navy. Ava is devastated and left to start a new life away from Dragonfly Lake. Now seventeen years later Ava returns when her Aunt passes and leaves her the family Inn. Ava forgot how much she loved the Inn and the friends she left behind. She didn't expect to bump into the man who broke her heart so many years ago, or the fiery chemistry they still share. Cash didn't know what he wanted out of life, or if he could keep Ava happy. Now years later, he loves being a successful chef and working with his brothers in his home town. When he sees Ava, he knows he can't lose his second chance to win her heart. But when she has an opportunity of a lifetime at a job on the other side of the country, will their hearts survive another good bye? This was such a sweet, heartwarming and steamy story. I loved how strong Ava was, knowing who she was, and what she wanted, and had the courage to fight for it. Cash was charming, and thoughtful, and so swoony as he showed Ava he was a better man.
Narrators Patrick Zeller & Samantha Brentmoor did a great job bringing these characters and story to life. They balanced each characters strengths and vulnerabilities beautifully, and they easily made me feel all the heartbreak, hope, excitement and joy that both Cash and Ava felt.

Heroine outshines hero in this outing…

Story: 3.5 ⭐️s
Narration: 4 ⭐️s

This third installment in the Henry Brothers series did not meet the level of anticipation I had at the end of book 2, so my experience with Ava and Cash’s love story was a slight let down by comparison. It can be hard to thread the second-chance romance trope needle - navigating any trope is an art form really - and the execution here was a bit underwhelming. I also found their overall connection in the present a bit surface. Both spend a lot of time in their heads thinking back on their past connection and I was less sure as to why they were into each other 17 years later. There is obviously a lingering physical connection, but there just weren’t enough out-of-bed interactions between the two, or maybe the quantity was fine, but the quality of those interactions was just (again) underwhelming. I think this is mostly down to Cash’s character development falling short when compared with Ava’s.

While Ava was developed through her interactions with other characters and her struggles with her grief, Cash was just sort of there and very much in h is own head. Most of his struggles were internal, so there were pages of pages of him in his head. I get he is the broody brother, but when he was interacting with his brothers or other characters, it did so much more to show him than all the telling in his head. I find this one of the pitfalls of first person POV and that’s not on Knupp; I enjoy her storytelling and the majority of her characters. I just prefer when character growth happens through action and interaction rather than redundant introspection; or I at least prefer when there is more of a balance between those elements. There is definitely that balance with Ava, and it’s done very well and that is what kept me engaged.

The secondary character work is also something I enjoy about this series as a whole, along with the setting. I’ve said in previous reviews, this is just a place I want to spend time and that has a lot to do with cast of characters Knupp has created. I was a little let down when in Cash’s POV because there was less of this, and even when other characters were not he scene, I was still frustrated by Cash; so I don’t think I enjoyed even that as much as I did when in Ava’s POV. For instance, I am interested in Knox. I loved that he and Ava’s relationship was purely platonic and there was no hint of any attraction between the two (despite Cash’s cliched assumptions). I kinda wish Cash and Ava’s romantic reunion had been half as compelling as her friendship with Knox. And that bomb Knox drops at the end was just… wow! Definitely excited to see how that plays out; though less excited that his story will include a traditional age gap (older man/younger woman). Still, I do want to see where things go!

The audiobook is solid. The standout performance in the narration was Samantha Brentmoor as Ava. Brentmoor is just gets better and better with each performance I hear. She moved seamlessly between emotions in this outing; Ava goes through it in this book, but there are still lighter moments. Brentmoor displays a range that was a perfect fit. While Patrick Zeller is a good narrator, I just wasn’t as into his performance as I as into Brentmoor’s. Now, maybe this was a case where because I was not as interested in the character, even a solid narrator could do little to save it. I’ve heard a few of Zeller’s performances in the past, and he can get the job done. It just worked less for me this time around.

Overall, I still recommend this one, as it is a lovely exploration of grief and how finding the right support system (when you didn’t know you were missing it) can be everything.

I received an ALC copy of the audiobook via Home Cooked Books. All opinions are my own.

Ava Dean was called home for the worst possible reason her Aunt Phyllis Sharp had passed away. Her heart hurt but she couldn’t break down, yet. There were people to see and issues to handle first. She passed away while at the grocery store, her pondering on that information would send her spiraling. She raised her and was more like a mother to her than her mother was. Her aunt was one of the Dragonfly Diamonds, which consisted of Loretta Lawson, Dotty Jaworski, Kona Powers, Rosy McNamara, Darlene Lionetti, and Nancy Solon.

Honeysuckle Inn was her aunt's pride and joy. She kept it up as much as possible for the everyday upkeep. However, for the major and necessary upkeep of the repairs, the inn was sorely lacking. Right off the bat, she knew the roof would need to be replaced. The inn for sure needed to be repainted, and that's only after all the railing, and steps had been checked and reinforced. She has plumbing, the water heater, and a new dock, add to the list. Why exactly is Ava looking so closely at what is needed to fix the inn?

She needs to get back to her life as a screenwriter. And it looks promising that a TV streaming show might pick it up. She doesn't want to close the inn. Especially when so many guests talk about coming back next year. So she needs to assess the amount of money she would need to get it all done. Now here is a kink she may not see coming and it might bring up old wounds she may have problems stuffing down and no Aunt Phyllis to talk her through it.

What she may not have been prepared for is having her arm full of bags from just leaving the hardware store and... A tall man texting on his phone and not paying attention runs into her. Knock the bags and contents onto the sidewalk sending scattering. One good thing he didn’t let her fall on her ass. Right away he was telling her he was sorry... Oh, holy Jesus. His heart stopped as her dark-chocolate-brown eyes met his. Familiar eyes. “Ava?” “You’ve got to be kidding me,” she said, and it wasn’t in a friendly way.

Then again, Ava Dean had no reason to be friendly toward Cash Henry and every reason to hate him. “I’m sorry,” he said inadequately, unsure whether he was apologizing for bulldozing her over on the sidewalk or for ending their relationship so poorly all those years ago. She was shaking her head, as if laying eyes on her worst nightmare, backing away from him, and f--k if that didn’t make him feel like an ogre. “I’ll help you pick this stuff up,” he said, but as he glanced around them, he realized someone else had beaten him to it.

There was no reason a chance collision with Ava Dean after seventeen years should affect him for more than a minute, so he sure as hell didn’t know why he was still seeing those hurt brown eyes in his mind when he walked into the kitchen at Henry’s thirty minutes later. That was their meet-cute or not-so-cute after all those years. Regrets? What do you think? Just because he’s the one who caused it doesn't mean he doesn't have big regrets. See how and why he chose to dump her all those years ago. Was there another choice he now wishes he had made instead? See how they turn the bad breakup into a positive future together.

Undone is the third book in the Henry Brothers series, and I am so loving making my way through it, earbuds firmly in place, certain that observers think I’m crazy when I laugh out loud, shout, “Oh, no!” or get the dreamy swoony look. Perfect as a standalone but trust me, you need to get to intimately know all these guys and their family, friends and special loved ones. Because the Henry Brothers are special. They grew up in a loving home, cherished, wanted, secure in the knowledge that family would always be there for them. But upon closer inspection, they have all had vulnerabilities, concerns, worries, fears and secrets that made them each feel ‘less than’ in their own way. Which is why they most definitely need the love of that woman who is perfectly right for them. And for Cash who could it possibly be but Ava? The one that got away. Or more precisely, the one he sprinted away from twenty years ago with no explanation. He is gruff, has friends but keeps most things close. He is a wildly talented and successful chef, but also has a ton of baggage he carries around with him about his self-defined failures. And Cash is no second-chance guy. Once and done as far as he is concerned. He blew it and that’s that, he won’t ever be able to successfully overcome that shortcoming. And just how irresistible and adorable does that make him? He didn’t expect these feelings with Ava to resurface when he sees her again. Heck, he didn’t expect to ever see her again. But now that she’s here? A minute, an hour, a day, a week – he just wants to enjoy every second he has with her now, his body and his heart are telling him to just give in, relax for once. She’s going back to LA. Does he want her to? Who knows? He wants her to finally realize her dreams, to have what she wants instead of always forcing down her own desires to take care of others. But can he lose her again? Can he walk away like he did last time?

And what’s up with that writer guy, Knox Breckenridge, who showed up in book one and says he’s never leaving Dragonfly Lake now? That he’s fallen in love with the place and is planning to settle in. Holden and Seth didn’t pay him too much attention, but Cash doesn’t like or trust him, and for now I’m on Team Cash. I thought maybe Knox was going to expose Everly when she was trying to hide out or expose Seth’s secret in book two. That didn’t happen, but my maybe-overactive-reader-imagination still has me wondering if he’s writing a tell-all book or something about Dragonfly Lake. Don’t know but something about him makes me cringe. Or maybe hope there’s a Knox’s Story book in the future?

Ava has come home to Dragonfly Lake for her aunt’s funeral, the only family she had left. And to see what repairs and remodeling are needed and to find a manager for her aunt’s baby, the Honeysuckle Inn. She grew up working at the inn but she’s a writer, not an innkeeper. She has an amazing opportunity in LA – this could be her shot, what she’s always dreamed of. So she makes her lists and gets going fixing thing up, preparing for when she can go home. But as she reconnects with people she knew long ago and meets new people, settles into a routine, Dragonfly Lake starts to feel an awful lot like home. And of course there’s the Cash thing. Yes, he broke her heart when he up and left her, but he’s even more good-looking now (can that even be possible with a Henry man??), so sweet, so helpful, so considerate, so appealing – and so much heat in his gorgeous eyes – that that broken heart of hers starts going pitty-pat and she starts wondering What If? I was ready to travel to Dragonfly Lake myself if I had to and make Cash and Ava find a way for this to work. Because if there were ever two people who belong together, no matter how many years have passed, it’s these two.

Author Amy Knupp has crafted another enticing, enjoyable, impossible to stop listening book. We catch up with friends and family from previous books, meet new people we might like someday but don’t quite yet, laugh, cry, worry. Ava and Cash lean in, pull back, lean in – the tension is unbearably perfect. And there is a big surprise at the end and a tantalizing peek at what might come in the next book. Two more stellar narrators for this book series, Patrick Zeller & Samantha Brentmoor, give you all the shivers of emotion with their perfect pacing, perfect portrayal of our two lovebirds’ personalities. 100% satisfying all around.

I received a free audio copy of Undone from the author via Home Cooked Books. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am loving making my way through this satisfying series. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.

Terrific Narration & Second Chance Romance!

Undone
Henry Brothers, Book 3
By: Amy Knupp
Narrated by: Patrick Zeller, Samantha Brentmoor

Amy Knupp pens another wonderful small-town romance novel set in her Henry Brothers series. Each book in the series features a different Henry brother, and this third book is Cash’s and Ava’s story. Cash is the chef at Henry’s, the family restaurant and wants the restaurant featured on a show called “Small Town Smorgasbord” to attract more customers. While in town, he runs into someone he has not seen, someone he hurt, his first love, and it stirs up old feelings. Ava Dean returns to Dragonfly Lake after her Aunt Phyllis’ sudden passing. Her aunt owned the Honeysuckle Inn and left it to Eva. The inn needs of some major repairs and updates, and she plans to bring it back to its original glory as soon as possible. Eva is a screenwriter and her life is in Los Angeles, so she will have to hire staff to run the Inn too. She is in the running for to work on a new show and has to get back to L.A. soon. She knew she would run into her ex-boyfriend at some point, but was not expecting it to be on her first day back. Her first love and first heartbreak, but seeing Cash again brought back those old feelings and then he has to be nice to her. These two definitely had some unresolved feelings, can she forgive him for breaking her heart and can they have a fling that is just a fling? This is a beautiful second chance romance, the writing and the plotting is fantastic, as is the character growth and development. There is never a dull moment, and the story has the perfect balance of drama, charm, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Amy Knupp, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the terrific narration, Samantha Brentmoor and Patrick Zeller are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They brought each character to life with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting and believable. Brentmoor excelled as Ava, capturing every aspect of her personality, and Zeller did the same as Cash. They were equally impressive in their roles as secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already wonderful story to another level. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

I LOVED this book. I hated to see the last word on the page! I mean really authors should just be able to keep a book going! (Yeah right but I feel like I lose good friends when they end!)

I did love to see some of the North brothers and their significant others! Thank you for including them. I adore all of the books that Ms. Knupp writes. Her stories are gripping, the plots are well written and the characters are ones that I would love to have as friends! I just hope the stories continue with all of my faves. Hint! Hint!!!

Now after saying all of that, you don't have to read the prior stories to enjoy this one. I would highly recommend reading them though as they are simply delightful.

Ava returns to Dragonfly Lake after being away for 17 years. Her aunt passed away and left The Honeysuckle Inn to Ava. The prospect of being back is a complicated one. She is on the cusp of realizing her dream. She wanted to be a screenwriter and has pitched an idea to a new streaming service. But the inn needs a great deal of work. Ava has the overwhelming job of getting the inn in better shape and hiring people to run her beloved aunt's inn. Hopefully she won't run into the guy that broke her heart all those years ago.

Cash is the chef for the family's restaurant, Henry's. After serving his time in the Navy and bouncing around at various restaurants, he runs the kitchen to perfection. He is the grumpy Henry brother and the last one to find the love of his life. After a failed marriage, he doesn't want to try again. Been there, done that!

But Cash and Ava meet again. The sparks from all those years ago never faded. The chemistry is still bright. Can Ava overcome her reluctance of spending time with the man who broke her heart? She felt sure Cash was going to propose before leaving for the Navy. Instead he breaks up with her! Can she forgive him? Why did he break up with her? Even if she forgives him, she lives in California. It is a long way from Tennessee.

This is a sexy read. The story is such a fantastic one that if you aren't into the few small sexy scenes (yes they aren't pages and pages of sexy), I would suggest overlooking them.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS STORY!!!!! (Yes, I meant to yell that out!)

Undone is book three in The Henry Brothers series and is the second chance small town romance of Cash Henry and Ava Dean.
After serving his time in the Navy, Cash perfected his craft as a talented chef and took over the kitchen at the family restaurant when his parents passed. Cash wants the restaurant to feature on a show called "Small Town Smorgasbord” to increase the customer base of Henry’s so he has been practising and perfecting dishes to present to the judges. In town he runs into Ava, his first love whose heart he broke, a woman he hasn’t seen since she left town seventeen years ago. Seeing Ava again stirs up all the olde feelings and he sets about winning back the woman who has always had his heart.
Ava returns to Dragonfly Lake seventeen years after she left heartbroken, and her return is marred with sadness due to the sudden passing of her Aunt Phyllis who owned the Honeysuckle Inn and left it to Ava. The Inn is in desperate need of some major repairs and renovations and Ava is determined to bring it back to its former glory. However, she is on the cusp of fulfilling her dream after pitching a script to a new streaming service. Yet, when she runs into her ex-boyfriend on her first day back in town and he firmly plants himself in her life by helping her with the renovations, it has her opening her heart to him again and contemplating a future running the Inn giving up the glitz and glam of Los Angeles in favour of a life with Cash in Tennessee.
Patrick Zeller and Samantha Brentmoor take Amy’s words from page to audio in the most amazing way.
Mr Zeller’s performance of the hot shot chef who after a failed marriage is hesitant to open his heart again was impeccable. Patrick’s smooth, mellifluous voice perfectly suited Cash and had me spellbound from start to finish.
Ms Brentmoor’s portrayal of the screenwriter turned Inn owner who struggled with giving her heart to a man for the second time was incredible. Samantha’s sweet, hypnotic voice was perfect for Ava and had me mesmerised from the very first word to the last.
Overall, I loved the final Henry brother’s audiobook. It is another magnificent addition to a phenomenal series.
If you love a good second chance small town romance where the side characters are as amazing as the main characters and where everyone rallies round and supports each other then Undone is the book for you.

I loved Ava and Cash in Undone by Amy Knupp, book three in her Dragonfly Lake series, a beautiful second chance story of reconnecting with your first love. There seemed to be a bit of a mystery surrounding Cash Henry; that feeling of “the one who got away." He's a bit of a grump, but he's an outstanding chef, his skills putting the family’s restaurant in Dragonfly Lake on the map. Ava realizes after spending time with Cash that after all these years their attraction is still there and their chemistry still sizzles and burns. They had a number of obstacles to overcome; she was living across the country in LA and his restaurant is in Dragonfly Lake. It will take some personal growth to help them figure out what they want out of life, as they navigate, change and rearrange their dreams. Sometimes, life goals can be changed, for the best.

Ms. Knupp wrote an emotional, wonderful, heartwarming, second chance romance with all the amazing small town vibe that kept me turning the pages as I followed Ava and Cash’s journey to figure out what’s really important in life, before it’s too late. She provided a tale rich with magnetic attraction, sizzling chemistry, clever banter, and charming characters giving Ava and Cash a chance at love, happiness, and a future together. I highly recommend Undone to other readers.

This is book 3 in Amy Knupp’s Henry Brothers series. This can be enjoyed as a stand alone. However, I think it’s a little more fun having “met” Cash and the rest of the Henrys in previous books - starting with Unraveled.

This was a great second chance romance. I think my favorite part was that this was really less about the past and more focusing on Cash and Ava falling in love again with who they are now. That strong history - and passion - is there providing a wonderful foundation for them slipping back into being lovers.

However, with futures seemingly diverging in two different locations, they know that their time together is limited. I don't want to spoil anything, but I loved how Knupp didn't make it so that one person was forced to give everything up (and that it wasn't only Ava making concessions!). Their solution was wonderful and really solidified their HEA.

Then they get an awesome epilogue which ends on a huge surprise impacting the entire Henry family. Audio lovers get a *second* bonus epilogue offering a peek into married life for Cash & Ava. I'm looking forward to Knox's book, Unexpected. I'll be waiting for audio though because...

Narration:
Knupp continues to pick great narrator matches for her characters. Samantha Brentmoor & Patrick Zeller had perfect voices for their own and the opposite character (plus the rest of the Dragonfly Lake folks). The opening chapters - Ava's grief and hesitation and all that comes with loss was flawlessly encapsulated by Brentmoor. Zeller likewise brought the nuance to Cash he deserved. Then both pivoting as the couple fell in love again. The myriad of emotions they went though. Loved listening.

CW (spoilers):
death (off page/past) of aunt & mother, off page/past alcoholic mother

Undone is the first book in The Henry Brothers series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Ava is back home in Dragonfly Lake after the passing of her aunt. Her aunt left the Honeysuckle Inn to her, and it’s in need of major repairs. Ava is a very talented screenwriter and has no experience when it comes to repairs, so she has to hire people to help her. Being that it’s a small town, she is bound to run into her ex-boyfriend who broke her heart 17 years ago.

Cash is a chef at the family restaurant. He had been in the military in the years after he broke up with Ava, then he spent time working in different restaurants. When he sees Ava again, all of his feelings from when they were younger rise to the surface, but he doesn’t want a relationship after his failed marriage. Yet, he can’t help the draw he still has to Ava.

This was such a cute second chance romance. It was obvious that both Ava and Cash still had feelings for each other. They had both grown up and changed in their years apart, and they were both very focused on their respective careers, so they didn’t want any sort of relationship to stand in the way of them achieving their dreams. But they both realize that they don’t have to have one or the other – career or relationship. This was my first book by Amy Knupp, and I enjoyed it.

Narrators: Samantha Brentmoor and Patrick Zeller.
Style: Dual
The narrators did an excellent job bringing these characters to life. I could easily differentiate between the different characters, and Samantha has a pretty good “male” voice. I wasn’t particularly fond of Patrick’s “female” voice, but it wasn’t awful. Also, Patrick really narrated with emotion. I mean, when (and this is just an example), Cash was groaning, Patrick narrated it in that tone rather than just saying, “he groaned.”

Undone by Amy Knupp was a charming second-chance small-town romance. Amy Knupp was a new-to-me author and I’ll definitely be coming back for more Henry brothers HEAs. I enjoyed this low-angst, big family story. Ava returns home to look after her late aunt’s inn. After leaving the military, Cash Henry returned to Dragonfly Lake to run his family’s restaurant. He’s an accomplished chef, trying to get his restaurant on a prestigious reality show, yet still searching for something out of reach. Cash was grumpy, yet charming, caring and protective. When the woman he scorned over a decade before comes strolling back into town, Cash’s quiet workaholic life is turned upside down. Despite the time apart, Cash and Ava clearly still have an emotional connection simmering under the surface. I enjoyed Amy’s storytelling, her side characters were engaging and added to the story and the romance was as sweet as hummingbird cake. Even when my interest in the story waned a bit while the burn was slow, the narrators were so captivating, they kept me in it. It took me a little while to connect with Ava & Cash, but I loved their HEA. If you enjoy a sweet, slow-burn, second-chance romance, Cash and Ava will steal your heart!

Samantha Brentmoor and Patrick Zeller were terrific as Ava & Cash. Their pacing and style were well-suited to portray these MCs and their narrations matched smoothly for all the quirky side characters. I could listen to Patrick as the grumpy & endearing small-town chef all day, every day. I loved Samantha Brentmoor’s performance as the screenwriter-turned-inn owner, Ava. She blended the endearingly awkward, witty, and sultry attributes of the character perfectly. I can’t wait to revisit Dragonfly Lake and the Henry family.

4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Narrated by Samantha Brentmoor & Patrick Zeller
Amy Knupp writes heartwarming sexy stories and this small town second chance is a true gem. Her characters handle their conflicts with maturity and open communication and I wish that happened more often in romance books.

I’ve been waiting for Cash’s story and what a great way to round out this Henry brothers’ series. This is a standalone but I highly recommend to read the previous books so you get a full picture of the Henry Brothers and their extended family and friends. And Knupp did not disappoint. Undone is a small-town, sweet yet steamy second chance romance for childhood sweethearts Cash and Ava. Not only do they need to deal with their strained history but both are dealing with major career changes that could affect their future. I loved everything about this book and I hope Is Knox going to get his own story.

Patrick Zeller is great as Cash. This is the first book I’ve listened to of his and wow, I’m impressed. He really brought Cash’s longing for Ava to life. A sexy voice with an every-day guy quality. I say that as a compliment as he varies his voice as he can narrate all kinds of characters.
I can’t say enough about Samantha’s narrating as she brings so much to her characters. Her slightly smokey quality to her voice is perfect for males and also brings a variety to the females. There’s a touch of vulnerability to her narration which really brings out Ava’s struggle with where she is going in her life. Fantastic pairing of narrators.

I received a free ALC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Undone
The Henry Brothers Book 3
By Amy Knupp Author
Narrated by Patrick Zeller Samantha Brentmoor
I love small town romance. Add in second chance and chef and you have pushed the buttons I love! Can he cook? YES! I am all in! Ava is back in town after the death of her aunt. Inheriting the Inn is not her dream, but she has a love for the place and a need to keep her aunt's dream alive. But it could not have come at a worse time! She is on the brink of reaching her dream as a screenwriter and now she has decisions to make. But it's not just the Inn now. Cash is back in town, cooking at the restaurant, and the feelings they had for each other are still strong. Agreeing to be together just until she leaves, the two are hot and heavy. Will that be enough? Pulling me in, I loved getting to know Cash & Ava. The warmth of the Inn is a character in itself, and it is fun to visit. The visitors and townspeople add a depth to the story, but the Henry brothers adds the sibling banter and support that is real. A great addition to the series, I enjoyed this and look forward to more time at Dragonfly Lake.

Patrick Zeller and Samantha Brentmoor are names that need no introduction. Both are favorites of mine and they shine in this story. Zeller is Cash and he could not be a better fit. He is strong and romantic and makes Cash impossible not to love. Brentmoor is Ava, a flurry of emotions and she brings them all alive. It's a fabulous listen and I can't recommend it enough.

**Audiobook Review**

Oh, how I swooned extra hard for Cash Henry. “Undone” is a sweet, heartfelt and steamy small town second chance romance that I devoured in one sitting because I could not stop listening to Cash and Ava’s story.

Ava is back in Dragonfly Lake after being gone for years to the inn she was left after Aunt passed away and left it to her. The Inn is in need of some TLC and Ava is determined to get it back in all of its glory. Cash Henry is the one who got away when he broke up with her when he went to enlist in the military. Now he’s the head chef and owner of the family restaurant. The two still have chemistry and Ava’s stay in Dragonfly Lake is temporary because she vowed to put herself first.

I absolutely adored this second chance romance and it has become my favorite of the series. Ava is genuine, independent, smart and I loved how she took on the Inn and did her best to turn it around and grow it in her honor. Cash is so swoony and he stepped in immediately to help Ava with anything she needed. Their connection has spanned years and was still strong even after they had broken up. It was what they needed at the time and this was the right time to come back together. The ending was so sweet and left a teaser that I can’t wait to learn more about when the next book is released.

Samantha Brentmoor and Patrick Zeller were so great as Ava and Cash. Samantha brought all of Ava’s caring and genuine personality to life perfectly. And I enjoyed listening to Patrick as Cash, his gruff voice was the perfect choice.

Back to Dragonfly Lake I go for more of the Henry Brothers! I'm having a wonderful time getting to know the brothers and the people that surround them. In Undone, we get to know Cash Henry better and why he's so grumpy. His former girlfriend (and dare I say, love of his life), Ava, comes back into town because her Aunt died and she has to tie up all the loose strings before she can head back to her life in California. She and Cash literally bump into each other and old feelings are brought to the surface.

I really liked how Cash wanted to clear the air right away and make things right with Ava. He knows he messed up when he dumped her, but wants to explain why he did what he did. Ava and Cash are able to be friendly until another man makes Cash jealous and then he wants her back. It was fun to see Cash loosen up and fall in love with Ava again. The only downside to the story is that we didn't get enough time with his brothers and their significant others. I was surprised they weren't around more. In any case, it's a lovely second chance romance that gives us all the feels and heart flutters!

The audiobook is narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Patrick Zeller. Samantha Brentmoor is a Queen and I love her narration! Patrick was a new narrator to me and he did a fine job, but I didn't connect with him and the role of Cash. I still enjoyed the audiobook though!

I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request, and I voluntarily provided this review.

3/5 story, 4/5 narration - 3.5/5 overall

This was a sweet story about a woman who goes home to pick up the pieces after a loss, and her reconnection with the man who broke her heart. It may have been almost 2 decades since Ava and Cash were in each others lives but they still clearly have a strong connection, and maybe some unresolved issues.

Amy was a new to me author and I went into the story blind (no blurb/reviews/etc). I found this to be a very very low angst story which dealt with very realistic situations and obstacles. The story felt organic in development and the little drama that occurred is actually not between the main couple of the story, but within the MMC's family. I feel like this threw me off at first because I wasn't feeling any high drama or action I usually rely on to keep me in the story, but between the writing and the narration it flew by surprisingly quickly, and was an great audiobook overall. Speaking of narration, Samantha and Patrick are wonderful paired together. Super smooth transitions between POVs and they both have very calming voices that flow well together. Similar pacing and emotional range in their performances made it enjoyable & easy to listen to, and they are very well cast for these characters.

I didn't do the first 2 books in this series but going in I found it very easy to catch up. It worked very well as a stand alone.

Ava is right on the cusp of her dreams as a screenwriter in Hollywood when her aunt passes away, leaving her with a fixer-upper inn. Now she is task with fixing it up and getting a new manager set in place to take over for her. Seventeen years is a long time to be away but when she returns to Dragonfly Lake she is remind of everything she left behind, including the man that broke her heart; Cash Henry. The last thing she wants to do is take a walk down memory lane and repeat history. However, that's not what fate has in mind.

Amy Knupp has done it again, she has written another fantastic small town romance that will melt your heart. Ava and Cash are a grumpy/sunshine couple that will have to cheering them on as they work their way to each other. Undone is narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Patrick Zeller. These two narrators were great on this audio. Samantha was fabulous as Ava, she really brought out her strengths as woman in the work force and her ability to vulnerable when she's with Cash. Patrick Zeller is a new-to-me narrator and I was pleasantly surprised by him. He really made the grumpy Cash Henry very loveable. I can't wait to hear more from both of these narrators.

This is a second chance love story. Ava lived in Dragonfly Lake with her mother and Aunt Phyllis who ran the Honeysuckle Inn. Cash was one of the Henry brothers. Ava and Cash were a couple 17 years ago and had talked marriage. She was devastated when he broke up with her the night before leaving for the Navy. She (and most of the town) had thought he was about to propose. She picks up the pieces and moves on and is all set to fulfil her lifetime dreams when she gets a call that Aunt Phyl died and left her the Honeysuckle Inn. She has to go back to handle the funeral and look after the inn. She is unprepared when she meets Cash for the first time in 17 years and runs away from him. He realizes he owes her an apology for the way he ended things. I was pretty mad at Cash and didn’t know if I wanted him to have a second chance but he really proved himself to be deserving of Ava. They had a lot of obstacles to overcome. She was living across the country in LA and his restaurant is in Dragonfly Lake. You’ll have to read it to see how it works out but it was a very satisfying ending with a lovely epilogue.

Star Ratings - 1 (poor) – 5 (READ THIS BOOK)
• Writing Quality: 5
• Story ingredient: 5
• Ease of reading/Pace: 5
• Plot strength: 5
• Steam Level: 4

Notes/Opinion (personal thoughts):

One upon a time things were good between Cash and Ava but then the fears of life creep in and their relationship caved. This is their second chance and it’s beautiful.
I love a good small town read with low conflict. Sometimes just a simple story is enough to restore the sunshine in our life and correct the gratitude lens. This series is one of those stories.

second chances are fab

I LOVE small town romances, but normally I’m not a huge second chance person. This one, though? Fantastic.

Ava is back in her hometown after her only living family member, her aunt, passes away, and she’s left in charge of her inn. Her life is in California as a screenwriter, but she takes some time off to fix up the inn and find a manager before she goes home. She runs into her ex of 17 years ago who broke her heart, and they rekindle their flame. Will she stay or go back to California?

I absolutely loved that Cash and Ava didn’t have some awkward enemies stage. That’s the worst part of a second chance romance to me. I think the two being in their late 30s helped here. Their chemistry was amazing, and I kinda fell in love from the beginning.

I listened to this book, and I think that added SO much to the experience. I first listened to Patrick Zeller last month, and I really wish he was more popular. This man puts his whole chest into his performances. I am absolutely obsessed with his voice acting. And of course, Samantha Brentmoor is perfection in a voice actress. This audio was incredible!

Well, I have to say Amy Knupp has become one of my favourite authors. Her stories are always delightful and her characters equally so.

This is #3 of the Henry Brother series and although standalone, is best read in order.

The chemistry just sizzled between Ava and Cash and it's so refreshing to read about normal people living normal lives with an added bonus with characters in their late 30s!

The muffin scene was hilarious and good to know that Cash found them a challenge too! My only thought though was in the earlier books Cash was a total grumpnut and in this one he seems to have had a complete personality change, but I put that down to the Ava effect!

I loved the final surprise which was totally unexpected and as for the shock of the day, I hope to read more about it in #4 without giving anything away. I can't wait to go and stay in the Honeysuckle Inn - it sounds heavenly!

The narration was perfect by new to me narrator #PatrickZeller and #SamanthaBrentmoor who excels with male voices!

While waiting to hear about her dream screenwriting job, Ava returns home when her aunt dies. Ava is keeping her aunt's inn, but she wants to update it and hire a manager to run it. The last person that she wants to run into was Cash, but she runs into him soon after arriving. Instead of a proposal seventeen years ago, Cash broke up with her. Cash is the gourmet and innovative chef at Henry's. His dream is for their family restaurant to be recognized on 'Small Town Smorgasbord'. Seventeen years is a long time but the chemistry is still there. I received a free copy of this ebook from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I became a fan of Amy Knupp five years ago when I picked up my first 'Hale Street Series' book. I have never been disappointed and have loved all her books including this one. Her characters are strong and quickly pull me into the story. I also love how the books are enjoyable as standalones, but there will be returning characters from other books/and or series.

Seventeen Years Later
It is time for Ava Dean to face the music. She needs to figure out how she is going to handle her Aunt’s legacy, Honeysuckle Inn, and being back at Dragonfly Lake, then get out emotionally unscathed. She suspects it will be a long shot though, especially after coming in contact with Cash Henry, her ex from seventeen years ago. She has no reason to be friendly to him and every reason to hate him, but their chemistry is still very much exists. This is a well written riveting small town romance with wonderful strong characters that grab your heart from the start. Personal growth and figuring out exactly what they want out of life is a big part of their story. “Undone” is a standalone, but I definitely recommend reading the rest as the series as many of the characters reappear in each book. Amy Knupp’s books never disappoint me. Cannot wait to read the next one.
I received an ARC of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.

I’ve been loving Amy Knupp’s Hery Brothers series (I still need to go back to read the North Brothers but I have them all on audio now!), but UnDone is by far my favorite! The second chance romance aspect was so well done and the characters in this book were most definitely the most interesting and memorable.

Ava fled Dragonfly Lake about 10 years ago after Cash Henry broke her heart, and has only returned home now that her beloved Aunt has passed, leaving her Inn to Ava, which needs extensive renovations and a new manager. Ava has to deal with all of that while trying to get the head writer gig for a new TV show (streaming service) back in LA.

Cash Henry is in a bind - his ex Ava has appeared back in town after he fled 10 years ago and enlisted instead of proposing, as he’d been planning… and his feelings have never changed. He can’t help but be around her and he’s in trouble. His family keeps telling him to stay away.

I loved everything about this story and both Ava and Cash, the whole Henry family and the extended family characters - their second chance romance, every little thing Cash does to apologize for his actions in the past and making up for lost time. It’s perfectly steamy, perfect pacing, perfect chemistry. Just perfect! 100% recommendation to all romance readers!

Narrators we’re perfect also - Samantha Brentmoor has a beautifully sultry voice that was exactly right for Ava, and I always get excited when I see her name on a book. She doesn’t do enough! Patrick Zeller isn’t very familiar to me but I like his voice a lot and thought he suited the character of Cash perfectly, and also did a fantastic job.

I received an advance copy from Home Cooked Books PR and this is my honest feedback.

I was excited to head back to Dragonfly Lake, and it did not disappoint. This second chance romance will keep you listening until the very last page and will leave you with smile on your face. This series is such a feelgood series, even with the grief the heroine experiences.

Cash and Ava have been apart for 17 years. It wasn’t a pretty breakup but when she comes back to town for her aunt’s funeral, they quickly rekindle their friendship and, soon after, relationship - it has a short shelf life, but when do things ever go as planned?

I’ll admit as I was listening towards the end I was getting a little frustrated at all Ava was giving up, but then as it progressed, you find out her reasons, and I simmered down a tad lol.

Samantha Brentmoor and Patrick Zeller were the perfect combo for this story. The way they conveyed the grief and past heartache, especially Samantha, was beautifully done. But you also had their great comedic timing and lightheartedness of the characters friendship and relationship.
